catdaddy300
ok i know its bad for the truck but i was wondering who else out there is also guilty of riding on E or just putting 5 dollars in the truck in between pay checks???? Fireman31
I don't ever let the SS go below 1/4 tank, I have a few times with the Tahoe but not on purpose. Running it to E all the time is baaaad for your fuel pump, you will certainly shorten it's life span that way....

Hankg42
<--------Never! 1/4 tank, minimum. I heard the fuel pump stories, and being it's in the tank, under the bed, that's not a job I want to tackle. I see no sense in gambling on shortening its life. Stitches040
I rarely get below 3/4 of a tank, before I'll top it off. Sometimes I might get as far as 1/2 tank. But that's only for LVD days ...
JF-03-SS
Sometimes I might get as far as 1/2 tank. But that's only for LVD days ... That is the only time you can have "to much gas", lol.
Hankg42
That is the only time you can have "to much gas", lol. Oh, OK. I've been below 1/4 at least twice! FireRescueSS
I keep mine above 1/4, unless cirumstances dictate otherwise, due to using certain fuel stations only, hours working, weather condiditons.

catdaddy300
yeah i think this habit of mine spilled over when i was driving my 92, that chevy lives on E its the only way to drive it lol
f1ss
I keep my truck stored on about 2 gallons of gas, but usually kept around 1/2 a tank when driving. If I got to a quarter tank or lower I would either run it until I came across a Shell, Sunoco, or Mobil gas station, and they are not too many of those service stations left; their mostly CF or BP fuels. I have been guilty, but I purposely did that to add some fuel system cleaner into the tank w/ minimal gas inside and then added 22 gallons asap. SS Silv
Dang, sounds like I need to change my ways. I have always drove my truck until the light came on.
