I just got off the phone with the transmission shop. He talked to Yank and I guess they were full of excuses. Said the Mobil one Synthetic is a no-no with their coverter because of the lining in them, said If I changed the airflow of anything that would be a problem, I guess he just had one excuse after the other. So they are dropping the pan now, flushing all of the Mobil one out and checking to see if there is any damage. He said they had it all hooked up and it all points to a bad clutch in the converter, but they are saying no. If it is still heating up tonight when I pick it up I guess I will have to have the stock converter put back in tomorrow. I have to tow again this weekend to Pa. and back, about a 900 mile trip and I am not running my truck at 250 degrees tranny temp all the way over and back.

This sucks A$$.

with some of the reports i've heard on them lately i kinda expected that. if you buy another one, i'd go with a vigilante for sure. much better people to deal with and a much better product in my opinion.

Bill, did you get ride of the L yet? I hope you saw the light and relized that would be a cool truck for young Will to drive when he grows up. Sorry to hear about your tranny problems! Hopefully you get it straightened out.

:shakehead: I hate to hear about Yank's customer service like that.

Although, the Mobile 1 excuse was exactly that. I've ran my TT3000 w/ Mobile 1 ATF for 10k miles with no problems.

I agree w/ Zippy on the PI recommendation. Knowing what I do know, I would have went a different route.

Goodluck. :(

Well I just got home from the tranny shop, they did what Yank told them to do, tranny flush and no more Mobil One. Still slips like a bitch and a waste of a day letting someone have my truck for the day and another $140.00 spent to confirm what they told me last week that it was a bad converter.

Well another $350.00 to $400.00 tomorrow to have them put my factory converter back in.

So the lesson learned Today is Yank is total junk and they wont stand behind their product. So for about $1600.00 total for the Yank me off Converter, Install and Mobil one, tranny flush and Scan today and to confirm that the yank is junk, and to Yank the Yank out tomorrow and re-install my Stock converter I am back to where I started being about $1600.00 poorer with a worthless paperweight.

Sorry, for the rant, I am just a little Pi$$ed off about the whole thing and to be back to where I started really sucks.

I think I will just keep putting her back to stock and trade her in on something new, I just got to figure out what I might want now.

Sorry to give up on her, but right now I think that is what I am going to do.

Thanks for all your help, not going to be going with another converter although I agree a PI would be the way to go, a great company with great parts that stands behind them.

A BIG WARNING, STAY AWAY FROM YANK.... :puke:

Sorry to yell, but it helps my mood.

it's feedback like this that is important. when a company just won't stand behind what they sell or gives excuses it helps others make their choice. sorry to hear about that bill.

I brought it to a transmission shop, they cut into one of my transmission lines from what he was saying and ran some sort of scan tool on it that showed him what was going on. He said everything in my valve body was working fine, he thought that Yank was a joke after all the excuses they were giving them, Mobil 1, the volant system that I have, my free flow exhaust, the excuses just kept coming and coming. But their converter is fine and it is not that, real good customer service.. :fume:

I freely admit I know almost nothing about ATs and TCs, but can someone please explain what in the heck a Volante or free flowing exhaust could logically have to do with a "high performance" and "heavy duty" TC slipping? I don't get it...

Why would Yank think a transmission specialist would believe any of that?

My belief is that at one time Mike (Yank) made the best converter out there, but fell victim to his own success. From what I understand, he refuses to hire any help. At first, it seemed like his customer service was the only bad thing about Mike (Yank), but now, from reading this post and others, it seems his quality is now going out as well. I bet he is overwhelmed and scrambling, and would rather blame others than admit he can't do it all by himself, that he needs to hire some help. Just a guess.
