TBSS Posted August 14, 2004 Report Share Posted August 14, 2004 Like Ben said, lots of changes in '03 and '04 made it such that certain handhelds had issues flashing PCM's. AZ Speed (a very experienced shop) installed my Radix and it appears they had never dealt with an '03 before my truck. They ended up blowing up my PCM with the canned Radix Superchips tune, simply because they failed to pull a certain fuse. Then they had to drive around half the day to find a dealer that would reflashed it back to stock, before trying the whole exercise again. I hope you get your truck running quickly... You have to have OnStar disabled, certain fuses pulled, and other BS. Mine wouldn't load if the atuo headlights were on. No onstar, and parking brake was set so dayime driving lights were off, and i turned off the auto headlights. Nope, put a charger on while I mowed the lawn today, and it's same thing. I was told that when the PCM goes nothing will happen, the engine won't even roll over.. I only use the Diablo for real time data and error erasing now. They are dangerous items unless you are extremely careful and have no bad luck. No...they admitted that my Hand held mafunctioned, but did not want to do anything about the pcm....luckily my service manager is cool and he ordered a new one under warranty. Wow you got lucky that your dealer got you one under warranty. I'm not gonna ask my dealer to do that. They already reflashed it friday an no charge back to a stock tune.
