KyleODaniel
I was told it might be a problem tinting my rear window on my new truck because of the rear window defrost, just checking to see if anyone has any info on this.. Thanks- Kyle
shawnss
ummm I have never heard of this. I just had my rear window tinted and they had no problem. I have had a few trucks done and never had a issue with the rear defrost.

KyleODaniel
Right on, I didn't see why there would be an issue either, but just double checking before I do it. Thanks for all the comments
texas_born
They are most like talking about the removal process. My pops said it's a pain in the ass to remove.

K.P.VHO
The only thing I can think of is, one of john and mines friend has a BMW what had tint on the rear window and she always used the defroster and eventually it started to bubble and got destroyed, but that could be a combination from the hot Florida sun and the defroster. BLNAWAY
No issues with tinting it, the issues come when if you need to peel it off if the rear window has the strips running thru it for the defrost you end up damageing them with either the razor blade or steel wool when peeling or cleaning the glue off, but most people will never remove it from the rear window after it's done anyways Edited September 23, 2013 by BLNAWAY (see edit history)
Blown 346
Never heard of a issue with tinting any back window either. If you ever do have to take it off, use steam and you wont damage anything.
karduke
Same here. but when it comes to peeling the tint off, you can also use a mild chemical to dissolve the adhesive without damaging the defroster agent.
