  1. I think that alarm is your problem. Why not bring it to an install place and have them check the alarm/autostart connections?
  2. I put 5.25" in the back. I just had to cut about a 1/2" X 3" crescent moon worth of material out with a jigsaw. Used the speaker grill as a guide. I don't think it's really that big of a deal, 5.25" are infinitely better than 4X6s and worth the 5 mins of jigsaw time IMO.
  3. I think they look pretty good, but I'm with others about the brakes...the brakes look too small on the stock 20's, now they look retarded small.
  4. Doesn't work for me (military), but this one does: http://www.svhsvp.org/web/
  5. What's the cause for something like that to happen?
  6. Awesome, I know SSS.com doesn't show up at my work, so I'll give it a try. Wonder if this works for youtube...
  7. Yeah, I sent an e-mail like a month ago.
  8. Maybe he wants something like this: http://videos.streetfire.net/toprated/0/wm...85f014a00e4.htm
  9. is 112 your lobe seperation? if you want "chop" you'd want a lobe seperation of something like 108 or 106
  10. He's got a 408 also: 408 Emblem
  11. Anyone have pictures of this? http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=15269
  12. 1) Did you buy a blue one? 2) If yes to above, how's the paint match? Hard to tell in pictures. 3) What cap is on the tailgate, or do you have one?

You can download the 1080p trailer via PSN with the PS3. Looks sweet in 1080p.
  14. Bore/Stroke is 4.00 X 3.62 This comes out to 364 cubic inches OR 5.96 Liters
  15. What actually broke? Or do you know yet?
  16. Yeah, I remember watching Ronin in the theatre, I was at the edge of my seat during the car chase, good stuff! I also prefer the original "Gone in 60 seconds" scene too. HB Halicki was a pioneer of stunt driving. Bullit was really good stuff...I loved it when that Dodge ROASTED that 70 series tire up in the beginning. Jackie Chan's "Who am I" had a fun little scene too (Mitsu Lancer, I believe). Blues Bros. was of course classic.
  17. You have to be a supporting member to view attachments, maybe?
  18. I wanted to invest in some aftermarket performance parts, but am concerned with my transmission and wanted get straight on THAT issue before I increase HP/TQ. Pretty much I want to solve a transmission problem before I have one. And all the horror stories I keep reading has just got me all paranoid. Trying to keep the message short and to the point: 1) I want to do a CAI kit. I'm not loyal to any brand, so I'd probably go with K&N, but again, it doesn't matter. 2) CAT back. I've had my eye on the Corsa Cat Back (P/N 14279), but if I need to skim on some items due to cash flow, I'd just go with dual Flowmaster 40's or possibly a 50. Again, I'm not loyal to any one brand, just want a more agressive sound. 3) POSSIBLY Headers, but more than likely just the cat back. Was interested in Bassani's 531500SS. THE ABOVE is the extent of performance mods I want to do and realistically, the headers probably won't happen from the get go, but maybe down the road somewhere. Now that I've given you my list of performance mods (albeit minial), I need suggestions on how to get the most out of my trannsmission to benefit from my list. I know I'll need a tune, but know nothing about this process and there seems to be some mixed opinions on handhelds vs. sending the PCM (ie doing a swap). So questions 4, 5, & 6: 4) What should I do to the transmission for reliability? I like a clean crisp shift. 5) I was looking at Superchips handheld model P/N 2815, but will entertain ANY other suggestions if I'm barking up the wrong tree. Goal here is to NOT backout the timing during shifts. 6) I'm still not clear on whether Torque Management should be disabled or not. Seeing how I am in Rapid City, SD...I don't have alot of "local" options to deal with, but am more than able to do all this work in my garage (including the transmission granted it doesn't require complete teardown - valvebody, no problem). I guess it would help if everyone knew how I drive the truck too: 1) Doubt I'll every put it on a race track. 2) Lead foot...sometimes 3) Don't haul or tow, but wouldn't want to eliminate those options either. Truck is a bone stock '03 SSS with 19000 miles and NO signs or indications of a failing transmission/differentials, etc. Thanks a bunch! Also, I e-mailed zippy via his website asking pretty much the same questions and asking for a suggestion on one of his shift kits, but recently read his post about being swamped lately (which is totally understandable and I don't have any ill feelings if he can't respond for a few days).
  19. Greetings from South Dakota. We have pretty much the same weather and I can tell you that my '03 with the stock Goodyear's sucks. I drive like a grandma most of the time anyway, but in the snow/ice...it's more like a comatose grandma. My wife's '05 4Runner drives like it's on dry pavement compared to my truck. Most noticable is when the truck starts to slide, it just keeps sliding, and sliding, and sliding. Doing the same "drifting manuever" I do in my work place parking lot when it snows, my '03 SS slides about twice as far as my '00 Dakota (with BFG ATs) did. As you can tell, I've done an extensive scientific experiment in the snow and I offer you my findings at no cost. Oh yeah, mpgs are around 13.5 according to the computer and I just drive my truck to work (12 miles one way), so I'm sure longer duration highway would be higher. My truck has about 18.5k on the odometer now.
