  1. He text'd me last night. From what I gather, it wasn't a catastrophic failure. Heard significant knocking from the lower end. Motor had close to 130k on it.
  2. That cam, a 3200 stall converter and a 150 wet shot of nitrous will be the cheapest to your goals. Of course custom tuning will be necessary. Its not going to be cheap to have your truck hang with the 6.2 Camaro. You will need heads, intake, bigger cam, full exhaust, 3800-4200 converter and alot of boltons if you want to stay naturally aspirated and beat the Camaro...

Thank you Ashley...I prefer a barrel mop to the patches myself though.
  4. You could block off the cooler with cardboard. A better option is to install a cold weather bypass that bypasses the cooler altogether in cold temps (less than 30*). Link: TruCool cold weather bypass I had one but chose not to install it. My high stall converter heats up the tranny quickly in any weather.
  5. I have a Hobart (can't remember the #) and it does what I need it to do. I burnt up 2 spools of wire the day I got it. I learned by trial and error THEN went to a class and read books. I almost exclusively use a flux core wire now and learned uphill stitch welding. That covers about 99% of what I need a MIG welder for, yours may of course be different!
  6. I've always liked the Goodmark. A bit more styling than the rest...
  7. Bump. The truck is comfortably tucked away for the winter but is still for sale!
  8. Heads - yes, the stock 02 LS6 cam - NO. The cam is so mild, you can get much more out of a more aggressive profile and still have the same street manners. The stock 02 LS6 cam is good for boost though with its high lift and no + overlap. Just an opinion...
  9. Had an issue once with this code, and coincidently on a boosted motor (magnacharged 6.0L). Now you just may have a faulty TB (weak spring) however using HPT, I simply increased the entire "Calculated Airflow vs. TPS vs. RPM" (P1514/P0068 error) table by 40% in the lower TPS area and 20% in the higher. Not sure what table that correlates to in EFI Live. Is this the right way to do it, not likely but it worked for me.
  10. The market is flooded with "gen Y" cars with slightly different styling. IMO, GM needs to invest in the small diesel powerplant (for cars) and stop trying to reinvent the current top selling cars.
  11. Nice to see something a little different! Nice work.
  12. Like kissfans03ss stated, it can be tuned out via some startup air tables however, I always liked a quick start "pop" rather than hearing it crank and roll into a start. If this is a recent issue, look for other physical issues like small air leak etc.
  13. ...Going to spend 10 days in Disney with my wife and 3 girls...so much for relaxation!
  14. broke1 - Why were you banned from Ls1-tech and performancetrucks.net?
  15. Yes, no way to change knock sensors without pulling the intake. It isn't a bad job. Here are some reference pictures (keep in mind mine is an LS6 valley cover and looks a little bit different: After the intake is off. This picture is after I installed the new sensors...note that I used sealant around the knock sensor boot to prevent water intrusion: Pop the boots off, separate the connectors. The sensors screw in so use a deep socket to remove: The connectors can be challenging if you are not aware how they work. Gently squeeze the sides together and they pop off. Can be a little tough if you have big fingers as the sensors are fairly deep in the valley cover: Just a little closer look at how the sensors insert into the connectors: A look under the valley cover. You can see the pedestals where the sensors screw on to.
  16. Still have it as of now. Jeremy is correct, I have Many people engaged in a purchase however none have completely committed an offer (deposite). There have been about 30 to 40 trade offers anywhere from an old for to a tricked out Duramax to a Z06 with a 454LSX. No rush...when the best deal comes along, she will be waiting.
  17. When are you going? I work 15 minutes from Manhattan, been there a few times but try my best to avoid the city. I could give you some must see spots... OK... Red Eye Grille - Red eye grille website Bit more upscale but still "reasonable" prices. Nice atmosphere...they make a great surf and turf entre. Tao - alot of eye candy to go with your meal. MAKE RESERVATIONS. TAO restaurant website Nobu - if you like sushi and very good looking half naked Japanese entertainment, this is your place. A little pricy. Nobu website link Sushi Samba - If you are looking to see a celebrity, this is a good choice...a bit more "hip" but still fancy. Sushi Samb website As for clubs: Pasha and Lud Low Mannor are good choices if you can get in.
  18. Welcome to the site! I fixed the topic title for ya
  19. Lonnies performance make a nice kit that from what I hear performs very well (if you are having issues with the stocker): Lonnies Performance truck dual pumper fuel basket Part number: RX-TK-GSS340-DP-PKG
  20. Welcome to the site! I am sure you will find a ton of info to help you with your modification plans! Good luck with everything.
  21. There is a local dealer to me that is authorized to sell the Callaway "brand". I got into a great discussion with a salesman about the performance of this truck...I now can see how the general population can be lured into thinking it is a racecar. I refused to drink the koolaid as he thought I was completely uninformed about GM performance. Not worth the pricetag for some bolt-ons.

  23. LOL! In the rain no less. Good to see you still posting.
  24. Took the truck out for a little exercise this weekend! I keep forgetting how fun the truck is to drive. Maybe I should keep it....
