  1. I have an 03 and do have a drain plug. Never used it though, just drained it from the thermo connection...I guess I am impatient.
  2. that C6 was running 14's all day long. he didn;t really know how to drive. When i beat him my friends said the people in the stands went nuts. ,,,That is the reason I made my truck what it is today. Just something about having a ECSB AWD firewood hauler shame a purpose built sports car. Nice work,...but try not to beat up on the fellow GM guys
  3. ...from what I remember, Memphis made a nice class D sub amp. Saw them in dB Drag a few times. They were power limited so they soon abated in the competition arena.

    My SSS vs. GTO

Loving the tires... The set-up is a bit heavier than stock but the extra width is nice. Have yet to try them in the rain though.
  5. Shouldn't. Unless your pulley is spinning on the crank REAL bad, it may be a little difficult to take off the bolt. You shouldn't run into any issues using the pulley jam method. Ric how is she doing?
  6. Weren't they referring to engine oil? Never seen that claim from tranny fluid.
  7. Ric - trying to figure out what issue you have... 1. Crank pulley will not go on far enough to allow the bolt to grab? 2. When you torque down the bolt, you are having the crank spin? I am thinking #2. I wedged my lug nut wrench that came with the truck through the pulley and it held nicely. Is your crank shaft spinning along with the bolt but the pulley is staying put? That could be an issue...time to pin that bitch! Bust out the pinning kit (did you receive a package this week? ;) ) and pin the pulley so that the bolt will not spin with the crank. The flywheel locking will work as well...something to look into. Keep us posted...

    My SSS vs. GTO

It has been a long while since I could actually post a legit street kill. I'll set the mood.... I had another long day at work and took the SS in since it was a nice day. Going home, minding my own business, a blue GTO gets right on my bumper. I see 2 guys pointing at my bumper laughing (didn't figure out why till the end of the story) I am doing 35 (the speed limit) and he is itching to pass me, getting right on my bumper an backing off several times. I make a R turn onto a road that has a long stretch with broken yellow lines so I know he is going to make his move. I wasn't even going to race him until he pulls out from behind me and the guy in the pass seat yells "move that tank out of the way" I look over and shake my head, he returns it with a middle finger salute and the driver guns it. I was doing around 40 and he pissed me off As soon as he started to tuck in front of me I opened her up and passed him. He saw me use my turn signal (like a good driver) and knew it was on. I passed him like he was standing still and merged back into the right lane by 100MPH. I can only assume that he was floored because I can't hear a thing when I floor it, sounds like the world is coming to an end with the radix and the exhaust. We come to a stoplight and he goes goes into the shoulder next to me He said "sleeper my ass, get out of the way. I said "are you for real" and he punches it (I was asleep at the light ) No worry, I light up all 4 and blow by him around 100 feet or so and put about 5-10 lengths on him by 90. He then turned and that was the last I saw of him. Now my tranny is feeling the TQ and HP that I am making though. I don't have OD anymore and the fluid is smelling like burnt french toast with maple syrup.
  9. I have driven one. Must say I love the powerstroke!!! I wasn't impressed with the comfort of the seats though. I think GM has a leg up on them with that. All in all, it is a mighty nice ride
  10. You saw my scan gauge pic already... Scan gauge I also have my FP and Boost gauge in the A-pillar like you. My next spot will be where that useless slot for the deleted 4x4 buttons is. I have a carbon fiber sheet already for the back plate. A little fab and it will be looking good. I want a WB as well.
  11. Why did the Easter Eggs hide? ...because they were a little chicken. What did the Easter Bunny say to the carrot when leaving? ..."Its been nice gnawing you!" I know,...terrible. My girls think they are the cats ass though!
  12. Yea, I am up in the air on that one as well. There is +/- for the use of synthetic. One thing is for sure, there have been several published dyno runs by reputable sources proving that synthetic releases more HP to the wheels. Not sure if they were running synthetic F-type though. FWIW, I talked Chuck at FLT and they suggest the standard GM oil. He didn't say any negative things about synthetic, just it was not necessary. They did say to change the fluid more often on a HiPo set-up.... Here is a question for you. Is it possible to mix 6qts of the F-type with 6qts of the standard synthetic? I feel that with a snappy shift kit, 100% F-type synthetic fluid may be a little hard on the internals cruising 99% of the time. I could play with the line pressure to make it tolerable, but I like increased line pressure to provide more oil flow through the tranny and converter if that makes any logic...correct me if I am out in left field here as I have had great luck with a stock trany and plenty of power through it. I know some people are really against the line pressure thing and would only do a shift kit. I looked through LS1tech and found some good reading there, didn't find the exact thread you referenced though. Thanks for the link Ben, you may just turn me into an Amsoil freak again,...all I ran in my snowmobiles was Amsoil.
  13. That is what I am saying! I paid over $700 for my 3000 over two years ago as well. Yank is now selling the converters direct from them instead of preferred vendors. They cut out the middleman.
  14. Holty, your truck is running great! If it wasn't for my busted tranny , I would have had an 11 sec pass on the radix 2 weeks ago (without the meth). The radix has alot of unadvertised potential (as well as faults) and I would recommend one for your quest for 12's Maniac. Search the forum for Radix vs other blowers and you will see the benifits of each, every one has its own niche depending on your goals.
  15. Doing my tranny swap finally. What fluid is everyone using with a built 65E? I am looking at the red-line synthetic now but I know there is many others. The search turned up a few hits but this may be a good discussion again. Synthetic or conventional? Red-line synthetic ATF How much do I need? 12qts I think? sorry, didn't look at the manual.
  16. Just bought the TT2600 yesterday. Will keep you posted on how I feel about it.
  17. Sounds like a great "how to". Did you take pics? May have to look into that for a mod down the road...
  18. Can't beat the charcoal flavor, throw in some hickory nuggets and enjoy! I have both but use the propane just about all of the time. Its just too easy to turn the dail and start cooking
  19. Put on the roll pan and have a flip down plate holder. This one is up for sale. $20 shipped to your door. Here is a picture, zoom in as it is a crappy angle to see detail. Originally it was like $50 off the GM website. It is clean with no blemishes. License plate frame
  20. Pitt is about 3 hrs from me but if needed, I am available. How about boost vs timing. What will net the most gain on radix blown application? smaller pulley or more timing with meth / intercooler upgrades. Come on guys, CHP needs more truck articles!
  21. Makes a difference. A 2nd gear pull and being on a mustang will show lower #'s but they still seem low to me.
  22. 2.81 for 93 here. Bangor PA
