  1. K, I think this is note worthy,

My brother trailered my SSS about 350mi to track, un hooked and Ran a 13.55 et. WTF?

He is my older Bro, so Naturally he is always talking Garbage, and claiming wild stories about his truck! one of wich was that he would: "run sub 14's" the guy at Tech Inspection found it Amusing as well :jester:

Maybe Older Brother knows a little more then I give him credit for :dunno: . lol

also, I posted my SSS, run in the street and strip section on here.

    ~Danny

  2. Well, I finally got a time slip on my truck! I am 24 years old and thats the first time ever down the strip for me.

So it was a long day trip! 700mi round trip, just for a test an tune Day. It was Last Minute, So I had a full tank of Gas, 3.0 pully, the truck was jus how I drive it everyday.

we left my house a 11:30am got back at 4:00am. And My brothers Duramax that hauled my truck down in a 24ft enclosed trailer, ran a 13.55 @ 98mph, Then towed me 350mi home! DAMN :banghead:

Also, called Zippy Last minute and he shot me over a new tune in about an hour! Huge appreciation to ZIPPY!

So, My best ET. was 12.63,

    best 60ft was 1.7400,

truck could run in the 12.6 range all day, 60fts were in the 1.75 range.

I was hoping for better, but it gets good gas milage(better then stock). and I can run a 12.6 from any stop light in town? So I am tryin to chear up. :dunno: . lol

Also I would spin all the way to the begining of 2nd. You can see and hear it in the video's.

    ~Danny

  3. I think w/o the full tank, and a 2.8 pully, could run low 12's, also I think I may need a traction additive as well, I was spinning the whole 60ft, not real bad, but you can here and see it from the video.

( They were saying the track was slick that day, Guess they usually put down VHT? )

    Thank's Danny

  4. Had a last minute chance to go to the drag strip, called Zippy, he had me a tune in about an hour from the time I called him! I was able to get my truck programmed jus in time.

Also, truck ran 12.63 et, truck is getting great MPG as well.

Zippy good to work with, look to him for good tunning experiance. Thank's Zippy! :D

  5. K, jus gettin settled back in now :wtf: .

Long day yesterday, left fairbanks @ noon, got to palmer @5:30, left track bout 9:30, got home @ 4am today.

700mi trip jus for Test and Tune. lol, then my brothers crew cab long bed, duramax that towed me down, almost beat me! lol

    Sooo, best time:

    12.634 @ 104.43

( can run consitant in the 12.6 range)

    best 60ft: 1.7400

    ( consistant 1.75 range )

Last minute trip for me. So I had a full gas tank and a 3.0in pully and no ice for my intercooler. ( wish I would have brought my 2.8 pully? but what the hell.) And I had a big Issue with traction!

The truck runs good, I can get 17mph hwy on flats. so i guess not bad for a vehicle that is driven dailey.

Will post video later! :D . Props to Zippy! I give him a last minute call and he had me a tune in an hour!

    ~Danny

  6. The 2003 has a return type fuel system, so it can regulate the additional pump.

My guess would be the 04 could not compensate for having the added fuel pressure down stream.

Definateley need Injectors, my kit came with two sets :D ! but I have no Use for them any way, I am running 60lbs.

BTW, If I remeber right, You are planing on comming back to Alaska correct?? The Vortech Is a terrible system for AK, Definately re-locate your IAT before You drive in winter AT ALL.

  7. U type codes are comunication line codes. (network problem) Not part related.

    P is powertrain fyi.

I wouldnt pay the repair Bill, and ALWAYS ask to save old parts. You are paying a profesional to properly diagnose and repair your truck. that is the service you should get. Anyone can guess and throw parts. thats not what you signed up for. If it is a broken wire, proper diagnosis , (following flow chart) would Identified that right away.

Check ETC fuse, sound like a bad wire in the TAC wiring, and that would cause the serial data line code (u107)

FYI, warrenty labor on TAC, is .2 hrs and up to .3 on diag.

throttle body is 1.0, add .2 for 3 peice engine cover.

Good Luck, sorry to hear your troubles.

    ~Danny

  9. I am running General Grabber UHP's right now, Great tire BTW.

I have 285/50r20, and they rub the inner wheel well, in front of the front doors.

"You cant here any thing, but if you look in there u can see where they hit."

I have like a +22mm offset, same as stock, I believe? I think your going to rub.. :uhoh:

those tire's do look beefy in a 285, and tuck nicely.

  10. Well, I guess I'll answer my own question. I read the instructions that came with the roller rockers. It say "Rotate the pushrod with your fingers and begin to tighten the polylock. When you feel the resistance on the pushrod, you are at zero lash. Rotate the polylock one half turn more and then tighten the set screw." :chevy:

You nver said what Engine?? Rockers are non-adjustable in the LS engine's, as stated earlier.

    ~Danny

  11. Riddler

I work for ASRC, i'm working in the cook inlet on the platforms. I was switched yesturday to a 2x2 rotation, oh well.... I WISH I could get a 4x2, thats where the $'s at. Either way I'm hoping for the turbo and intercooler in another 2 rotations, at the latest.

What's up bro, I'm in Anchorage. Oh and my girlfriend's mom works for asrc in the Anchorage office building haha. Keep us posted with pix!

I work for ASRC as well.. :wtf: , Union Side, (Houston). local 302.

  12. thanks again fellas! Ill be lurkin around here for a bit, and will post some timeslips when I get my new engine installed. (nothing to get excited about.....maybe a low 14sec ride)

14 sec is exciting! that is gonna need to be about 400hp to get ya there. w/your truck.

Your engine in it now is only,180hp. :( low 18's @ best.

    Welcome!

    ~Danny
