  1. The 5th works for me. Won't do the drags, last time I did that the truck through a bunch of codes and went into limp mode. Thank god someone was out there to clear codes for me.
  2. I looked at the AVH-3200BT, but the screen was a little small. I won't be using BT or NAV so that would not be an issue. What I did like about it is that it has a 4V input for front, rear and subs. My other unit did not. It will mainly be used for my music and playing DVD's at shows. Plus the price was great. Hopefully snatch this up in a few days. Thanks for all the input guys!
  3. I guess I missed that thread. Thanks for sending it. I will have to remember the search button next time.
  4. So I have been without a headunit in the truck for over a year now and really want to get another one. My last one I put in the wife's truck, because she listens to audio books on her drive to work and it was not getting used in my truck since it sits in the garage. So does anyone have this unit? And if so can you give me a run down on how you like it? I still have all my other stereo euipment so it will be hooked up to a mono amp to run the subs and a 4 channel amp to run my seperates.
  5. A track meet would be cool, but the 22nd would be out for me. Barrett Jackson is in town that weekend and I will be drooling over cars I will never own.
  6. You moved again? I thought you were staying in Tucson for a while?
  7. This is why I live in Arizona. I will take the 110 degrees over this anyday!
  8. Hell ya. I would be down for a meet. I have not been to one in a while, plus I would like to finally meet the famous "zippy"
  9. I was wondering the same thing. Mine is pretty much stock except for the intake and tune. If need be I can put all the original parts back on since I have kept everthing. I rarely see other SS's running around. And the ones I do see are pretty much beat. Thanks for the input guys!
  10. I go to Barrett Jackson every year when it comes to Scottsdale and I see these cars that I drooled over when I was a kid. Chevelles, Mustangs, Cudas and I was wondering if the SS trucks will ever be collectors one day like these cars are now? The reason I ask is I have tossed around the idea of actually selling my truck. I hardly drive it and it just sits in the garage collecting dust. When I do drive it, it does get a lot of attention. I don't need to sell it, but was wondering if it would be worth holding onto for the next 10 or 20 years?
  11. I hear you. I get a lot of flack from friends about this also. They all ask how I can just let it sit in the garage. Drive it, enjoy it, they say. I do enjoy it....I enjoy that it is still as clean as the day it was built. I have my Mustang GT to beat the crap out of.
  12. Yeah, got that a while back. Definitely has saved the battery. Still running on the original.
  13. Geez and I thought I had low miles. I will grab some Sta-Bil this weekend and through that in. Thanks for all the info. guys!
  14. Thanks for the info. Mr P. As far as the oil filter I always use Mobil 1 and I never fill the truck up. Usualy between 1/4 and 1/2. I will pick up some Sta-Bil for the fuel. Should I throw in some zMax for the oil or just leave that alone?
  15. Hey all, My truck is stored in my garage and rarely gets driven. Maybe once a month if that. Would it be a good idea to use some sort of oil additive or fuel additive while stored? Just want to make sure the fuel does not break down and that the oil is kept on all the working parts. I went to start it the other day and noticed a very slight tick coming from the engine, but once it warmed up it went away. Truck only has 17,000 miles. Thanks.
  16. 113 is too damn hot

  17. Welcome. What part of Phoenix? That pic looks like it was taken up north.
  18. I wanted one that was more designed for indoor use since my truck rarely sees the light of day.
  19. I have a brand new truck cover for sale. Had it on the truck in the garage for 2 days and replaced it with a different model. Here is the link to the cover and item description. Please read complete description. Will fit 06 SS or 1500 extended cab standard bed. May fit other years as well. Will be shipped in original box with carrying pouch, warranty card and patch for antenna. If interested please PM me. Truck cover $75 shipped to lower 48 Thanks, Scott
  20. Thanks for all the information guys. I will let her know.
  21. I have a friend who owns a 2004 Silverado SB and is getting the clunk out of the intermediate steering shaft. I told her to take it the daler to get it fixed, but they told her it is not covered under warranty or a recal issue. Is this true? They want to charge her $250 to replace it. Is there some sort of TSB out there that shows it is an issue and will be fixed for free or not. Thanks!
  22. Wow!!!! Great pics guys. Trucks look awesome!
