ok so I just bought some heated leather seats from an 05 sierra ex cab to put in my 04 reg-cab which currently has the manual seat,,,,I was planning to just run new poss & negative to make the power seats work, but I got a feeling I'll have that airbag senson problem,,,,so I got a few questions??? Is it possible to just take the airbag sensor from my manual seats and install it in the new power seats? And if so,,,,How do I go about doing this,,, And if I just have to go back to the junkyard and get the original harness,,,Any tips as to how deep I gotta go to get the original harness out? Thanks!

Started The Lowering Of The Truck But Not Finished Yet
Les Hall replied to firehawknwv's topic in Suspension & Brakes
yeah it sucks to have to loosen the entire tank for that one bolt,,,I managed to do it once without moving the tank, I used a bar and pried the tank over enough to get it out, I don't really recommend doing it that way, I thought I was gonna poke a hole in the tank before I pried it over enough, then I cut that one bolt down a little so It would go back easier,, -
is that normal for the AWD??? I averaged around 17mpg with my 06 2WD SS,,,and kept my foot in it alot.

So my 04 Reg-cab came with 3.42 gears. And I "THINK" I wanna go with 4.10's but I want to get some advise before I order gears,,,I know 4.10's will hurt my gas milage, what I don't know is what type of rpm's I'll be turning on the way to work? lol,,,right now at 70mph in overdrive I'm showing just below 2000rpm's, I don't wanna go with such low gears that I'll be turning 4000rpm's all the way to work, But at the same time I'm afraid just going with a 3.73 gear I won't see enough difference to make it worth it, All I do know is these 3.42's SUCK!!!, I have a Wheatley tune, 160-stat, CAI, and I BARLEY outrun my buddies "stock" Reg-cab 2wd hemi, & that ain't gonna cut it. I would love to hear from anyone running 4.10s in a 2wd daily driver so I know what to expect??? This is what Summit Racing said I need,, Insallation Kit http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RAT-3025K/ Ring & Pinion http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RMG-GM85410/

Not long ago I saw a used black 2008 extended cab on "autotrader" it seemed to be at a pretty big Chevy dealership , It only had the SS badges and a buncha goofy looking 3M-chrome, They listed it as an "08 Silverado SS" It didn't even have the 6.0,,,I had to call them out on it, called the 1-800# and spoke to a salesman, Asked why they would list it as an SS when it clearly wasn't ? he said they considered it an SS because of the extra options installed by there Dealership, I told him it looked like all those "extras" came from Autozone & they might accually sell it if they strip it all back off

well after having my SS cladding stacked up in my shop for like 1/2 a year I'm FINALLY starting to make a little progress, I just got my cab corners back from the bodyshop, and since I spent SO MUCH getting the corners finished,,"$425.00" the bodyshop said he'd give me a great deal on painting all my cladding, $500.00 IF I bring the cladding in ready to paint, & I thought that was a pretty good deal since they are the #1 shop around, & known for flawless work. Now for the most part my cladding is pretty slick, but there are some pretty good rock chips along the bottom of the rockers & rear bed pieces, & a few spots to repair on the rear bumper cover, So I got a few questions for you bodywork guys,,, I plan on using an air powered disk type sander on the flat areas to smooth out the rock chips a bit,, 1. What grit Sanding disks should I use for the chipped areas?? 2. What grit should I use last so it'll be ready to drop off at the shop??
