Led Mirror Turn Signals...
cbrsilv15 replied to cbrsilv15's topic in Appearance, Cleaning, & Detailing
I got the Yukon mirrors, and they just plugged into the old window switch. Now I have the turn signals, puddle lamps and auto dimming glass. Everything is good now!! -
Yeah, that should work, but just make sure you have a relay in there somewhere to prevent any accidents. They should just be a straight 12v connection. No voltage changes. Even if you don't have the factory wiring, you can just get the "tang" on the ends of the wires and crimp it on two long wires to make your own harness.

Led Mirror Turn Signals...

What mirrors did you have before? I just have the power heated mirrors. I have a pair of Yukon mirrors that I'm gonna try here in the next week or so. If it does just plug in, would everything work on the mirror? Turn signals, auto dim, tilt down with reverse? -
Led Mirror Turn Signals...

I am getting a pair of the mirrors tomorrow from an 05 Yukon. These should be good. I just need to switch out the glass and wire in the turn signals. -
Led Mirror Turn Signals...

Since the mirrors are way too much, does anyone know if I can just replace the glass with the led piece? -
You can make your harness soo easily. I actually got mine from an 02 avalanche. You could go to a junkyard and buy the relay, cargo/fog switch, and all you need is a pin from the back of the green plug. You could use any wire and just crimp the pin on both of the wires together. Ziptie all the wires up and out of the way all the way down to the fogs. Just take the two grounds together from the pigtails, and ground them together. I cut off the ends, and put on 9006 plugs so I could run the Hid kit that I had from my last truck. Wire up all the ballasts underneath and make sure that everything is water tight. Re-connect the battery and enjoy the new fogs.. I was lucky enough that I did not need the BCM flashed to recognize the fogs. Everything is all good now, and I will have to see them in action tonight. Hope this helps out some of you.

I just used a dremel to cut out the fog holes, and it turned out perfect. Don't be afraid to cut it out yourself. It is a lot easier than it sounds. I just used a cutting bit for the most part, and then a sanding drum for the edges. Pop in the speed nuts on the top of the fogs, put them into place, and tighten them in.

Use a 7mm to remove the green plug on the bottom. You have to slide the small blue plastic pin out of the green plug, which is on the side of it. Pop in the wires in the D6 location, and then slide the blue pin back in. Here is a picture of the D6 location. Once the wires are put in that spot, you can put the green plug back into the harness and button everything up. Just leave the wires for the fogs down to the side. Make sure to clip everything back into place and re-install the brace above the fuse box.

I finally put in my fog light kit today, and I will give a little how to, since there are soo many questions about it. Start by disconnection the negative cable on the battery. You can pop out the dash bezel and replace the switch now. I removed the brace above the fuse box and pulled the box out. This is a good time to put in the relay.

I have the avic Z2, and it it awesome. The Nav is great, and the picture quality on the movies is perfect. No discs needed except for the initial startup. Great unit. I have always loved the pioneer units.

Where did you get your mirrors from? The led ones are like 250 a piece.... That's a little pricey to me. -
I just have the power heated mirrors, and I want the LED turn signal ones. Once again, I want OE, not some cheap aftermarket kit. I know the pigtails for the mirrors are different. Mine has one plug into the power window switch, and the led ones have two. Has anyone tried to just replace the glass? The glass should just pop out, and the led one pop in. The replacement glass has the led arrows glued to the back. All you should have to do is wire the power and ground from the arrows to your turn signals...?? Has anyone tried this before I do??

Finally...first Wash And Wax Since I've Had Her..
cbrsilv15 replied to cbrsilv15's topic in Appearance, Cleaning, & Detailing
The nerf bars came on the truck when I bought it. I will prolly keep them for now, because it is easier for her to get into. She was used to a lowered Xtreme..... Hid's are just the cheap ones from ebay I'm sure. I got them free at my work. I bought some SS wheels today, just the painted ones. Are there any backspace issues if I put them on my truck since it is a 2wd, and not AWD. thanks for the comments. -

I have some chrome 20's for it in the garage, but I think that I want the SS wheels. I have fogs to install with hid's also, but I am just waiting for a weekend I can do it. I love the HU so far. It is amazing and the nav is great. I have always liked the pioneer units. -

Well, after numerous tests and countless hours troubleshooting, I have a fried unit. I had 0 volts on the speaker leads on the back of the HU. I had to send it out for repairs today. I will see if they can fix the problem....
-
It doesn't have anything on there to delete any updates from the hard drive. Just the songs that are copied there. It has to be something really stupid, because I have tried EVERYTHING else....
-
Thats a pretty nice setup. I would think that he would use a larger monitor though.
-
Well, I tried a different harness, and it does the same thing. I also tried hooking up a tweeter directly off the HU, and nothing. I have to call Pioneer tomorrow.
