  1. NTB sucks. My grandma went to walmart to have her oil changed, and they overfilled it. It got into the distributor and killed the motor. They had to pay to tow it back and do all the repairs. If they messed up the wheel, they will have to replace it. Do NOT get it refinished. It will look good for about a month untill the clear starts to peel... JUNK!! Make them buy you a new wheel. If they don't, get involved with the BBB.
  2. Try ebay or a junkyard. Those will be your best prices.
  3. Metra harness. GMRC-01. Retains all factory chimes and is a decent price. Just use the search button. Lots of info.
  4. I had the 4x6 plates, which had the seperate woofer and tweeters. Sound quality was really nice and crisp. You can def hear the tweeters. I think you will be very pleased with them.
  5. Well, I hooked up the Audiobahn amp to my subs in this box, and it sounds great. Nice and deep. Not starving for airspace. Great for the price!! I highly reccommend this box. Here are some pics.
  6. I have had the planet audio 4x6's in my s10 and then in the silverado for about 5yrs now. Great speakers. For 76 bux, try it!!
  7. Pretty sure I'd go with just about anything Dylan06SS says!! lol.
  8. If it is just the seats and console for $800.... Nah. Not a good price. Check your local junkyard and I bet money you can but all the seats and the console for 400 or less. Take the money you saved and go have the headrests done.
  9. Man, everyones' under hood looks great! How did you get the carbon fiber? Is it just vinyl cleared over?
  10. $800 sounds a little steep, especially if it is dirty.... I would offer 500 as is. What is "complete"? Figure 100 per front seat, another 100 for the center console and 100 for the rear seat. Does ot come with the trim pads also? Dash??
  11. The hard drive is amazing!! Stores all the maps, and everytime I put in a cd, it copies it to the HD. Bad ass!! Just look for one at a good price.
  12. First thing I would do is switch insurance companies. I have not heard of them not covering it because it was "aftermarket". If it was secured into the dash, it is considered a permanent fixture. As long as you have comprehensive insurance (Fire,Theft and Vandalism), it should all be covered. I would further investigate the insurance company and their policies. That's BS to me..... I went through it all before when someone wanted my stereo more than me. Sorry to hear about it.
  13. Woot Woot!!! -Avic Z2- Great radio.. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.ph...st&id=19183
  14. That's why I didn't want Onstar or Bose. Too much crap to bypass it when you are just gonna put in an aftermarket radio...I didn't have either, and I used the GMRC01 harnes by metra. Great harness.
  15. Is the button pressed in on the dash? Try replacing the lights and see what happens.
  16. What about a locat junkyard? I know that the SS's are EXTREMELY rare there, but 99% sure that isn't the only vehicle GM put that sunroof in. Maybe just a regular silverado, or some GM cars. Look online and see if there is an interchange number on the sunroof. It's worth a try.
  17. Nevamind. I an going to run it at 4ohms on the amp and on the subs in series. Hopefully install will be tomorrow after work. Here are some pics of the new stuff..
  18. I just got this amp today, and it is supposedly 3600 watts, I have the audiobahn AW1251T flame series subs, and they are 800w max (400w rms). Specs are 600w x 1ch at 4 ohms. These are all rms stats... 1200w x 1ch @ 2 ohms, and 1800w x 1ch @1 ohm mono. Subs are dual 4 ohm each... Should I run them @ 2ohm, or 4 ohm? I also have a 1200 watt 2 channel amp. Which would work better for me? I am not familiar with the class D monoblock. Thanks guys.
  19. Meee tooo.. It fit in nicelt behind the headlights. My fog ballasts are ziptied to the frame underneath.
  20. Yup, have fun with all the small projects. There is ALWAYS something to do. I bought a house when I was 22, so I should still be young when it is paid off. It is great knowing that whatever you do to the house is yours, not your landlord's.... Good luck!!
  21. WOW, those before and after pics made me a believer. I want some!!
  22. Personally, I would stay away from the projectors. I think they look ricey. Those aren't too bad. Different, but kinda cool. Just make sure that they are completely sealed so you won't get any moisture in there.
  23. I saw a silverado at work today, and I think that I am gonna run it through the fuse box grommet. It is kind of thick, but it should be fine. I saw that install where the wire runs underneath the truck, but I didn't want to run it underneath with the crappy roads and salt here in ohio. Thanks guys. -Where is that plastic channel you mentioned fast4popper?
  24. I just wanna know how and where to run it, because it's gonna be a long day anyways pulling the seat to mount the amp on the back wall and running all the wires. I want a clean install, so everything will be hidden. I want to make it as easy as possible and have more info than downed beers. lol.
  25. I don't want to drill any holes in the firewall. What about the thick grommet that has the fusebox wires? Has anyone ran it that way?
