Even if the govt doesn't dish out the 4500 for each car, like I mentioned earlier, a cobalt ss supercharged costs 20k+, and only costs 6k to build. 6k + 4500 loss = 10,500. That's still a 9,500 profit for the dealerships. Keeps the dealers in business and keeps and creates some more jobs. I know we are a lot busier taking in these clunkers.

The whole idea for the program is to get the older cars off the roads. Emissions deal. Some of the cars are just scrapped, but a lot of them are being sold to junkyards. The powertrain is off limits (due to the whole emission thing), but you can buy parts from these cars. I didn't like the program at first, considering the govt is giving 4500 for these $200 cars... In the big picture, the dealerships are selling inventory, and the banks are getting their loans again. Buyers go from no car payment to a monthly payment again, but that money goes into the economy. I know a loaded Cobalt SS supercharged is somewhere around 20k, when it only costs 6k to make the car. The rest is just profit. Dealers aren't making that much more $$, just getting their numbers back up.

I have a truck here in Ohio that needs some of that attention!!

I was on my honeymoon from sunday to today, and I thought I would share this. Put-in-Bay is 99% golf carts, and in the 3 days we were there, I saw maybe a dozen cars, and one of them was a black SS. It's rare for me to see them, and to see it on the island.... Kind of cool.

In my 92 tbird, I had a Power Acoustik Area 51 amp, and 2 audiobahn 12's flame series in a sealed box. Hit 143.3 on the second song.... Pretty good for not trying to db compete...

Well, I finally took the plunge and got married yesterday. Everything was great and the reception was a blast. The fun really started at the after party. Great memories and many more to come!!

I have a samsung 1080 lcd, and that's fine for me. Picture is really good. Samsung make some of the best tv's out there. I also have the Pioneer 7.1 receiver and Polk speakers. Sounds great.

I work at a junkyard, and that is what you could walk in and pay for these parts. Once again, these are used, and not new from the factory.

Wrongo--- There is a core charge on the wheels because the price of aluminum is up. At my work, we charge everyone 35-50 core charge on all wheels purchased. Check to see if they will take any alum wheel for the SS one, or if it has to be the same one purchased.

I with that someone made the led tails that looked just like the factory housings. I like the LED ones, but agree that they look kinda weird when not lit up.

Is it the pewter color, or the silver birch? It is kinda hard to tell. Did the Esky handles match the paint pretty good? I have the silver birch, and I want to make sure that the esky handles match closely. Thanks.

Everybody always shaves their emblems. I did it on the Xtreme, but that looks stealth and pretty cool. I like it.
