  1. good thing about the ceramic hi-flows is within 4-6 months of having them on the material inside pretty much gets blown out your exhaust making it just like running no cats. a great way in getting hard headed exhaust shops that wont finish up your system without cats and perfectly legal when you go to get inspected
  2. if theyre still here in a week ill take them off your hands
  3. dump the Superchips and go with a custom tune.
  4. im ready to take on that vho any day of the week and smoke him. maybe he could win if he'd learn to keep a truck like that clean and MUD FREE
  5. ill gladly race him, im a bit far away but still in texas and the only thing ive got done to my SSS is a K&N panel filter and dual flowmaster 10 series mufflers.
  6. Keep us posted on install difficulty and performance gains. Definitely looking into a set of these for my SSS.
  7. Nice looking product. Where did you buy yours from?
  8. I had a set of Pacesetter LT's on my 5.3 silverado and loved them, definitely interested in getting another set. But as far as group buys I have no idea. Sounds like a good plan if we can round some people up!
  9. Alright, so im going with 2 10 series flowmasters for the time being because i got them CHEAP, until i figure out what i want to do with the aerochamber. I'm thinking about eventually going with their single 3 1/2'' in/out and just using the stock y-pipe thats after the muffler and putting it before the muffler, which takes care of the 3 1/2'' inlet. Then getting the exhaust shop to run some 3 1/2'' pipe from the outlet to the stock exit pipe. I change my mind too much but i'm not going to stop toying with it till it sounds just right.
  10. http://www.holley.com/21510HKR.asp theres a link to the dual in/single out aerochamber. if you want to keep your stock exit tail pipe like i do its not the way to go, as ive been directed. thanks again fellas.
  11. i think ive only watched that video 10-15 times wanting to know the setup of the exhaust other than just the muffler. had no idea is was someone on here but the truck sounds great. that is the 22" case muffler correct? im really wanting to keep the stock tail pipe on the truck so i might end up just going with 2 aerochamber mufflers to tie it back into the y-pipe after the muffler.
  12. Alright, thanks for straightening me out on that fireman. I hadnt thouroughly inspected the outlets of the stock muffler, go figured theyd be difficult and y it into a 3 1/2" instead of just going with a single pipe. This pretty much changes my decission making completely. Now im considering just going with 2 mufflers and y them back together to use the stock exit pipe. very glad i posted this forum or i would have ordered a useless muffler.
  13. Im not sure if the exhaust was changed from the 03-04 tot he 06's but i have dual 2 1/2" pipes going into the stock muffler, not a single 3". Which is why i was considering the dual in/single out muffler. The only thing really concerning me is the noise level. I want it to be loud but if the difference in sound wont be that extreme id rather cut out the labor or putting in a y-pipe for a single inlet muffler.
  14. I already know which muffler I am going to go with, now I'm running into problems on deciding which inlet/outlet combination to go with. Hooker offers their aerochamber muffler in a Dual 2 1/2" inlet, Single 3" outlet which would weld right up in place of the stock muffler. BUT the case on that particular muffler is 6" longer than a single 3" in/out. Im pretty much trying to figure out how much loudness I would lose by going with that 6 inches of extra case... Any thought or comments are greatly appreciated!
  15. with only 72k on mine guess what....speedo is messed up, go figure. now the dealership wants $500+ for the fix.
  16. im going with a dual in single out hooker aerochamber to keep the look of the exhaust stock but get a better sound out of it. id kill to find a new stock SSS tip though, mine is kinda dirty and wont clean up.
  17. The blue SS in the center of the billet is beautiful! I'll be getting back with you shortly to order one!
  18. The dealership i bought it at seemed pretty firm on charging me for the fix. I havent had any contact with the previous owner to see why he never bothered to take it in...there are a few local chevy dealers in town so if they wont go ahead and honor it ill figure something else out. would be nice to not have to pay for it though! As far as intakes go ive been looking mainly at the Volant. Ive had K&N and AEM before and both are great, just kind of want to try something different. Im running just the K&N replacement filter for the time being. Also have a hooker aerochamber muffler on the way, from what ive heard on other vehicles including SS's they sound pretty nice without being TOO loud.
  19. Thanks for all the tips and info guys. I can tell already that this site is going to help me out alot. Unfortunately the truck has just over 72,000 miles so the dealer was going to charge me $400 for the gauge cluster. Instead i told them that i would get it done on my own so they subtracted the 400 bucks from the sale price which was already a steal in my opinion. Im located in East Texas and ive heard from a few friends that there is a guy locally that has done custom tunes on a couple of SS trucks and Trailblazers around here. For right now my main focus is on the gauges, exhaust and cai and eventually get around to a custom tune.
  20. I'm new to the site and recently bought an '04 Silverado SS. A few questions right out of the box though... I got the truck for a great price, however, my speedometer doesnt work all of the time. I've heard that there was a recall on the gauge cluster some time back but it was never fixed apparently. Has anyone else had this problem and if so is it an easy/inexpensive fix? Also, I've been looking for a Ram Air intake kit for the truck, I wasnt sure if there were any available that ran the intake tubes down to the air dams in the bumper or not? And any suggestions on Custom Tunes would be really helpful. Thanks, Zach
