  1. I thought about the lly but it still has the same injector problems the lb7 has. I checked up on it and thise injectors are expensive. I am aware of the 9-10 mpg, my SSS is doing about 12-13mpg hwy(and thats taking it easy, if get tempted by someone and race i am looking at 9-10), so its not big a deal. I have always been a fan of lifted truck, before the SSS i had a lifted 1500, and want to go back to them. This time i figured I would do a 2500. I have been talking to a guy about trading my truck for his. 06 chevy 8.1 2500hd, 6" lift, 35" tires and a sound system.
  2. Thats kind of what I am thinking. In a way I thought that having more hp and tq to the wheels would make it a better tow vehicle. Reason i was asking also is because I am debating trading my truck for a 06 8.1 2500hd. I have a boat and although the SSS tows it great compared to my wifes 08 5.3 Tahoe it still feels like it strugles some. Also the 2500HD is a crew cab which is a BIG plus for me and the kids. Thanks
  3. Which one will pull 6000# boat better. I have around, close to 400hp and 500tq to the wheels. The 06 Chevy 2500HD has a stock 8.1 BB with a Allison tranny. Stock, 330hp and 450tq @ the flywheel.
  4. I just bought a Alpine INA W900BT and need some advice on harness kits and mounting kits. What harness kit do you guys recommend Pac or Gmos? I was reading something about reprogramming the BCM or PCM on PACs website when installing the Pac os2 bose, what is that about? Here is what I want to do and have. Its a 06 SSS with OnStar, Bose and steering wheel controls. I am just going to be installing a HU and nothing else. I dont use Onstar and want to keep my Bose system. I know I have to buy the Pac TR7 for video bypass and the Pac swi jack for steering controls and the Pac cm1 for warning chimes. Now what do you guys recommend Pac or Gmos and with one (part #). Also what mounting kit is good (part#). Thanks
  5. I am selling my SSS, I really need a 4 door truck. Its a 06 SSS with 75000. I bought it with 45000 and 90 percent of the miles are highway (I work 34 miles from work one way). It has a Mp112 w/2.9 pulley (put on at around 55000 miles). OBX LT headers and Magnaflow exhaust. Lowered 2" in the front with spindles and 2" rear with shackles. 22" Intro wheels with brand new Nittos. Shift kit w/2&4 servos, C.AI., 2 heat exchangers, HD tensioner, Pinned crank, Fiberglass cover, 15" front Bear brakes and SS lines. I think the truck has all the options from the dealer, including sunroof. Truck has been to the track(1/8 mile only) around 3-4 times and around 15-20 pass. It ran a best time of 8.3 with a 2.0 60' (bad traction). Engine oil changed around 3-4000 miles and tranny oil changed every other oil change. I cnnt think of what else to say about it right now, but if you have any questions just ask away. I will post pics tomorrow. I am asking $20,000 but I am open to ANY OFFERS. With 2 kids right now I just need the room in the back and the extended cab isnt cutting it.
  6. I am wanting to buy a truck more suited for towing my boat. I don't know what to do to the truck, leave it the way it is, put it back to stock and sell the parts off or what. Truck is a 06 Silverado SS with all the options from factory. Has a Magna supercharged, full exhaust, 22 Intro rims w/brand new nittos, and someother small stuff. What do you guys think I should do? What do you think I should ask for in stock form and in hi-performance form?
  7. I am looking into replacing my factory radio. I have done some reading on the PAC and Gmos adapters. Seems like they really don't work well with onstar and Bose. Question I have is did our trucks come with factory navigation? If not can one be installed? Like I said from what I have been reading there are problems with these adapters to the point where people go through 2-3 before they get a good one. They are or where don't know if its been fixed having problems with it powering up the Bose amp. I want DVD, don't really care for the navi and want to keep everything else factory.
  8. I know it has nav, but there is suppose to be a separate box that controls orientation, should say hide a way unit.I didn't see it in the pic. Also does it have the gps antenna cable. Thanks
  9. Ok my dad is in the market for a new truck. I had a buddy that gave me awesome prices on chevy, but now works for toyota. I love my SSS and I bought my wife a new 08 tahoe. I have noticed that chevy quality has slipped in the nnbs. My tahoe has gone to the dealer a couple times already and its drived by my wife. My SSS is superchareged with 60000 miles and no problems. I know this is a chevy web site but can you guys give unbais replys on which truck to concider. Thanks
  10. I have 22x8.5 w/265/40 up front and 22x10 w/285/40 in back. I want to get something with alittle more sidewall. I was thinking 275/45 up front and 305/40 in back. Fronts will have .07 more sidewall hight. Right now the backs have more at .31. Truck is lowered 2/2. What do you guys think?
  11. I did a Belltech spindle 2in drop in the front and 2in shackles in the back. I have Supercharged06SS (Robbie) rims, which are 22x8.5 up front and 22x10 in back. So i took it to Firestone acouple of weeks ago and had the alignment done. I look at the rims and the passenger side sticks out pass the fender. I go and look at the drivers side and its tucked in. S I starts wondering WTF is this. I look at the arm adjustment cambers and the passenger side it almost maxed out, making the top of the tire stick out. I go and look at the drivers side and they didnt even touch it. This was last couple of weeks. The next day I decided tolook at the truck on how its been setting in with the new suspension stuff and i measure and the front is to high so I let the front down some via the torsion keys. Today I take it back to have it re-checked since I messed with the torsion keys and it was off on one side. They fixed it and i had forgotten about the tire sticking out issue so I went home. When i get home I dawned on me about that so I check it and still the same. The guy should me the specs and everthing was with in range. Whats going on? Can it be the spindles? Need advice. __________________
  12. Caddy03, does the pulley have the integrated nut like the pulley boys pulley.
  13. How much for the 2.8? I will think about it but really didn't want to go that low. Thanks
  14. Anyone have a 2.9 pulley for the MP112 Radix? Thanks
  15. A guy at work just bought one. It a complete kit, kinda, but still it 1825. It says 2 are left. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/07-09-ROUSH...s#ht_1570wt_718
  16. Will a TVS1900 from a 08 5.3 fit my 06 6.0. I can get a insane deal on a TVS1900 and was wondering if it will work.
  17. Its a 2in shackle drop and a 2in spindle drop. When the tires wear out i am going to go with a higher profile to fill in the gap a tad bit more. I like for it to have some gap. Pics wherent taken in Hialeah they are at a friends house.
  18. I bought the Intro wheels from Robbie and the maggie Ive had on for about 6-8 months. Also pics of the gauges installed.
  19. I don't hve a inline pump. I have the Walbo 255 intank that came with the kit. Like I said this is the loudest its ever been. So I don't know if it a sign of the pump going out.
  20. I noticed today that the fuel pump was louder than ever. You could also here the whine come in and out. It didnt come in and out that much maybe 2-3 times in the time i was hearing it 2-3 mins. Is this cause for concern, Magna gives a 3 year warranty but dont know if it warrantys the fuel pump.
  21. Nope, it comes back for a 04 silverado 1500 4x4 v8 5.3.
