The score was added to today when I finally picked up the center caps almost a month later lol. The problem is 3 of the caps have red chevy logos and two are original and have black logos. So maybe I'll just have red bowties on one side and black on the other!

Cool that you found your problem was just the cat probably a lot cheaper than changing a flywheel! It's funny your passenger side cat went bad to, because my passenger side cat was replaced right before I bought my truck. I'm not really sure about where to take it to get it changed though. I know on mine when they replaced it they changed the entire passenger side pipe from the header, to the muffler connection and they had the stealership do it in california, that must have been super expensive!

Cool! Thanks think I'll have it mounted up now that I know its not anything to bad! Good so I didn't pay to much. Funny this finally got responded to because the person that sold me the rims just contacted me and said they found the center caps for them! So I've got to go get them.

Totally agree just threw it out there since I've driven some trucks with transmissions from them. Definitely have had some bad luck and good from their.

I didn't even think of youngs they built a completely new drive-shaft for my C-10 and it was great! Good luck!

The only transmission shop I've had any experience/heard much about is Hansen's, but I wouldn't take it to a transmission shop if just the flywheel is cracked you might be able to have another shop drop the transmission cheaper and replace the flywheel if that is for sure the problem. I've heard good things about that transmission shop off old Seward between dowling and diamond, think its behind Mr. Prime beef area. I've gone in there a couple times and they were really helpful and actually gave me some gaskets for my 69'. If it was me I would do it myself but thats me, as for the heads and cam there should be lots of shops that can do that for you but not really sure which ones are good. The only problem would be tuning it for the cam/heads since I have yet to find a good tuner up here ? Also what type of rattle is it? Consistent or something that just happens sometimes? Anyway good luck with fixing the rattle.

What shop did the powder coating somewhere in Soldotna or Anchorage? Just wanted to know what shop to watch out for....

Here's some measurements for you, I took some pictures of my SS logos, as far as I know they have never been removed so these measurements should be pretty accurate. Anyway here they are! Note: the SS letters are about 1/4 inch apart.

Anyone know where I might be able to find one of these? I tryed ebay but couldn't find one.

Want To Buy Rear Bumper Center Step Pad. I need the center step pad that goes on the rear bumper of my SS it was missing when I bought the truck, so it would be nice to have. Let me know if you've got one and how much. Thanks Matt

I'm still having this problem as well. It keeps getting stuck on defrost, at first it was fixed by pulling the HVAC fuses for 30 secs or so and letting it reset, but now it seems to just be stuck just like yours. I think I'm going to just give in and take it to the stealership.

Ya I know, it could have been a scam, probably not stolen because its a pretty small town up here and if something goes on craiglist that got stolen people know about it. I was thinking it might have been totaled and bought back from insurance or something like that, maybe the other side was smashed because that's really common up here.

Just missed a good deal earlier today on an SS on craigslist, I already have one but why not two? Haha jk. Anyway it was posted at 11:49am and I called the guy at 12:00 and it had sold already. The guy said he was only asking $6500 for it!!! It was a black 2003. I had never replaced one of these windows before and when I got the 03 Regular cab short bed all the glass was broke due to theft and we replaced all the windows ourselves (windshield, side windows, and back window). Got the window for $70 at a local glass shop along with the glue and sawzall window glass blade. It was pretty easy to put in. Good luck and sorry to hear about this!
