I would just run 5w30 if it runs good and quiet. After all at the end of the day GM designed these engines to run with 5-30.

The hood switch is a switched ground that when the hood is open won't allow the truck to remote start and it also sets off the alarm if someone pops your hood while the system is armed. Sounds like you've got a good plan to fix it. Good luck!

Yeah that should work for you, all your alarm puts out is a 12v pulse whenever it makes the chrip sound so, to hook up the one on ebay just cut and splice the wiring from your old one and connect the new one.

I would try a new siren first, the wiring harnesses between boxes is different most of the time I believe. Maybe your siren got some water in it over time and went bad?

Usually there mounted under the dash on the drivers side. Take out the two bolts and pull off the large cover (the one right below the steering column) and you should see you Autostart/Alarm box under there. Should have lots of aftermarket wiring and stuff going to it and should be pretty easy to find.

Well it ended up at Harleys Auto park guessing he traded it in.... Saw it for sale there for 21,995 exactly as it was. I don't see it listed anymore so someone must have bought it.... Too bad that was one of the nicest/nicer SS's up here.

Yeah I think the only reason he sold it was to get a TBSS so he could have more interior space, I think he's still on the lookout for one.

He's a super nice and honest guy so I'm 99.9% sure that you did not get screwed one bit. I would just wait a couple more days in case he shipped it parcel or media mail which takes a long time from AK. Anyways let me know if you need to get a hold of him.

Sounds like your radio is picking up noise from the Alternator, that's why the sound goes up and down with the RPM. Is your radio stock, if so do you have a sub or amp added or is it aftermarket? Pretty much what everyone else said sounds about right...

Wow that sounds really strange, sounds like something broke with either the shifter interlock or whatever its called or the switch is somehow jammed. Can you take it back out of park and put it back in to see if it changes it at all?

I've read that before, and its just amazing! Got to love LS powered stuff! I like them so much I have a LQ9 in everything.... The 57. 69 and of course the SS!

I wouldn't be worried to much about the mileage, you mentioned you might want to get rid of the awd? If thats the case I would not look at an awd to start with as it would be a very big project to convert it to 2wd.
