    427 Ss

Back in March it was a little over 700 with a 150 shot. Heres a little run down on it. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/texas-members/1252222-pacos-427-ls7-silverado-dyno-results.html Its an awesome truck. Theres some sweet videos on youtube of him killing some pretty fast cars. I think if you search Paco 427 silverado they should come up on youtube
  2. Im open to offers on all of this stuff so dont hesitate to make an offer! Stock intake off an 03 SS Stock SS muffler Stock Y pipe and cats off 03 SS Other peices of the stock SS exhaust (No stock tip) 2 sets of stock exhaust manifolds one set off of a 5.3 silverado the other set off a 03 SS Rockford Fosgate P2 12in sub. There is some small cracks in the top of the sub they dont appear to go all the way through and I kind of fixed them some what its in the truck right now and works perfectly fine but I will be taking it out in a few weeks but sooner if someone wants it.
  3. Tim03SS I sent you a PM. Jimmyg if it doesnt sell I'll let you know ASAP!
  4. Not sure if thats yours if it is your selling it for way to little money, but I doubt its yours so in that case its a scam! Theres tons of those all over craigslist, if it usually seems to good to be true it usually is on craigslist. Theyll tell you that the truck is over seas and they will ship it to you at no charge as long as you send them a mail order deposite yada yada yada.
  5. I have an OEM bose 6 disc rado that I pulled out of my 03 SS at around 70K and its just been sitting in my garage make me an offer! I also have a single disc Bose radio out of a 04 LT Silverado that was pulled out at around 50K also in very good condition. Make me an offer on that too if anyone is interested!
  6. Dont waste your time with a manual in an SS or any extended cab silverado. Like Fireman said the trucks are just too heavy Those T56s are ment to be in cars not heavy trucks. Id say if you had a regular cab it wouldnt be as bad but even still a T56 wont last in a silverado unless you drive it like a granny some people may dissagree but its just the fact. They especially wont last if you have alot of power going to it. A friend of mine as a 5.3 regular cab it had full bolt ons and he swapped in a stock T56 out of a camaro and it broke so then he was going to build the truck more put on a front mount turbo set up and rebuilt his T56 to a viper spec T56 and it still broke and thats in an regular cab! Also if you were to do it youd need a crossmember out of a silverado with a 5 speed youll have too re gear your rear end most likley and youll have to ditch the stock G80 differential because youll grenade that as well and youll also need a custom drive shaft made. Also its a pain to get the speedo to work perfect with the T56 I forget why but I remember my friend had one hel of a tme getting it to work right. You will also loose your AWD. Basically for the amount of time it will take you to swap it and get it to work right and if your building it its not worth it at all I wouldnt even begin to waste your time and even though youll have a 6 speed tranny from a car in your truck wont mean youll be able to shift it like you can in a car if its in your truck and if your going for lots of power and consistency a built automatic is always the way to go. If you have the money to do some sort of tranny swap do a 4l80e swap then youll have no problems.
  7. I have a PAC AOEM-GM24 module for sale. This the module you need to hook sub woofers and an aftermarket amp to your stock bose radio, basically it just gives you RCA hook ups and remote wire hook ups. It installs behind the rear cup holders behind the stock bose amp it just plugs into the harness the install is super easy, and is really good if you want to have some aftermaret subs but want to keep your dash stock looking. And it will sound just as good as it would if you were hooking up to an aftermarket radio. I used it for about a month before I got my indash dvd player so it is basically new I can also extend the remote wire so its easier to work with as well type up some directions to go with it, I might even have the original box with the directions I just have to check. I think they sell from anywhere between $35 and $40 brand new and this one is just as good as new so I would like to get $30.00 shipped for it. Either send me a PM or shoot me an email just incase I cant get on here during the day [email protected]

    427 Ss

Ya Pacos truck is sicccck. Thats one bad truck its been in a couple mags too. Its not really AWD it was a 2wd that he put 4wd in but has it set so its only 4wd on the launch and then 4wd disengages and it goes back to 2wd, im not sure how he does it but I remember reading it in one of the truck mags. Hes a member on another forum im on and he builds some bad a$$ trucks! And as far as 427 SS's go If you havent seen them yet youtube the Fastlane Motorsports 427 Silverado SS thats also an awesome truck. I thought I read somewhere that GM was thinking about getting together with Fastlane and certain dealers would be able to offer the Fastlane 427 package with the purchase of a new truck and there were a few different engine packages you could go with it was pretty expensive though. I wish I could remember where I read that.
  10. Those 80e's are already beefy you would probably be good with just the shift kit!
  11. There 285/50-20s so they are a different size but when mounted there about the same height and only about a half inch wider and the the tranny was shifting weird before the tires anyways so the tires shouldnt be the problem. I imagine a change that slight in size would make that much difference and need to be retuned anyways. Id prefer to not get retuned for them unless I have to just because I dont feel like dealing with doing a crank relearn again just for a different tire size
  12. The Dynatechs are awesome! If something with those doesnt work out you can always check out stainless works, or american racing headers, both those companys offer awesome stainless long tubes and they also offer catted mid pipes! The Dynatechs are also a great choice!
  13. As far as mods and tuning goes I have LTs a custom exhaust after the Lts intake and then the shift kit and so on and the truck is tuned with all that stuff on the truck it was still a mail order tune but I listed all that stuff as my mods. Whatevers going on I dont really think could be normal im bring it to my tranny guy sunday night and hes very very good at diagnosing tranny stuff. When I first got the truck back from getting the tranny mods and Lts and exhaust work the truck was awesome shifted good and it ripped, latley ive kind of noticed the gears seem to be lasting a lot longer than they should or atleast longer than they did about a month and a half ago. For some reason I have a feeling it might be something to do with the torque converter the reason I say that is because like usually when I easy on the gas from a dead stop it will take a second for the truck to start moving almost like the tranny has to spin a little bit to catch and then it will go, and even more latley sometimes when I start the truck it will lunge forward. And a few days before the tranny did the whole rev to 6 grand thing I got on the gas in the same spot actually and when it did shift it almost felt like there was a soft spot when it shifted like something was starting to slip. And then another reason is I just recently had some new nitto nt420s put on along with 2in drop shackles in the back and the torsion bars cranked down a little in the front and I had some vibrations with my old tires so as soon as I got the truck on the high way I brought it up to 90 a couple times and it as smooth as could be and then later that day is when the tranny did the whole rev too 6 grand deal and ever since then I have this weird vibration on the highway but its not a constant thing like say your doing around 75mph just cruising with your foot just lightly on the gas its fine then you just start to slightly ease on the gas and it will start to vibrate and then you can almost feel something surge a tiny bit then the vibration will almost go away but like I said it doesnt happen all the time which I would think say the tires were out of balance then it would do it all the time at the exact same speeds so I was almost thinking that maybe the converter is on its way out the door and the vibration I feel could be it trying to lock or unlock and then the little surge I feel is it correcting itself? I could be totally wrong but its driving me nuts having to wait till monday to drop it off with my tranny guy to figure out whats wrong I just keep thinking of what it could be. Im still driving it just going very easy on it since its my only vehicle at the moment and it drives fine minus the highway vibration and the fact the gears seem to last longer than normal. And my front diff is starting to howl a little louder so that has to be delt with eventually but as soon as that front diff goes I think im going to dtich the AWD and go 2wd to just keep things much more simple maybe even a 80e swap that way I dont even have to worry about trannys anymore!
  14. Ya I dont blame ya some other shops really dont know what they are doing and its tough to find a good one! How long did it take them to do the job?
  15. Showngo I dont think converting it to 2WD would hurt the resale value too much especially if it doesnt snow much where you live. Im planning on doing the samething as far as converting it to 2WD once my front diff goes out its starting to howl too so hopefully it lasts until atleast the spring time. But BlackUtSSS $2000 bucks if pretty expensive I think you could have saved some coin if you didnt take it to the dealership, most reputable tranny shops should be able to tackle a front diff rebuild but if chevy decides to help you out then in that case going to the dealership was a good choice!
  16. Alright I have an 03 SS which is obviously AWD and the tranny has a transgo hd-2 shift kit vette 1-2 servos billet 4th servo and an accumulator piston latley Ive been noticing some strange things with the tranny. Sometimes I'll go to pull away from a stop light and the tranny gets stuck in first gear almost as if you just put the gear selector in first but as soon as I let off the gas it will go into second usually pretty hard it seems its done it too me 4 times in about the last 3 months and then today I get on it turning onto my road and the tranny down shifts like normal but then the truck just revved to 6 grand and it almost seems like it was just reving like not sending any power to the wheels but It was hard to tell if it was slipping or it just didnt up shift to the next gear and thats why the tach flew to 6 grand. I had my tranny guy do the shift kit and what not in the very beginning of september and while it was there he noticed the EPC solenoid was bad so he also replaced that, and Ive kind of noticed latley the gears seem to be lasting a little bit longer than usual especially during slower driving but that could also just be me being over sensitive. As far as other mods go ive got some LTs and exhaust work an intake and tune not sure that all that matters but I figured id post it just incase. But does anyone have any ideas of what could be going on with my tranny? I check the tranny fluid often and theres plenty in there and its still red and doesnt smell burnt. Im planning on bringing it back to my tranny guy on monday but Id also like to hear what you guys think as well! Oh and theres about 83K on the truck.
  17. I just got the 285/50-20 nitto nt420s theyll be on friday afternoon I'll try to get some pics!
  18. I say delete the cats all together and then just get a tune to turn off the check engine light or if you have inspections and they require cats replace whats broken and still get a tune to turn off the engine light
  19. I run a 14in case magnaflow and I like it but I also have LTs. If I were to do it again though Id search harder for a corsa sport so if you can find one at a good deal go with that! But you cant go wrong with a magnaflow either! Youtube is a good place to get a good idea of what exhaust sound youll like!
  20. I run the spectre intake as well its the samething as the AEM just with out the AEM dryflow filter if you put an AEM dryflow filter on it youll have an AEM Brute force minus the AEM brute force sticker. I personally switched out the spectre filter with a K&N filter and I couldnt be happier. Some people I guess noticed a 2 or 3 horse difference on the dyno with some of the higer priced once but I dont say its worth the money a CAI is a CAI they all do the samething the most important thing is the filter so Id get the spectre and just put a higer quality filter on it but even so the spectre one isnt to bad either!
  21. Dont waste your money with an STS kit like Mr P says lots of people who run them take them off and go to a front mount kit from either trick kb or nelson performance. Supporting mods youll need is a really really really well built tranny a fuel system to support it as well as a spot on tune or else youll run into big problems if your not tuned spot on. The LQ9's that come in the SS are a high compression motor and turbos dont like high compression. I personally wouldnt even mess around with a turbo on an LQ9 unless you lower your compression ratio. Some more advise I can give you is dont try to do a turbo set up the cheap way! Do it right the first time because if you try to cut corners and save money your just wasting your time because your just going to break stuff. And if you cant afford it all at once then do it in steps do the built tranny first because no matter what type of power your making a built tranny is always good. The words cheap and turbo do not go together more than likley if you do a turbo set up youll break something at some time or another so Id also advise you to find your save a reliable daily driver if you dont have one already because a turbo kit wont really be a bolt on and go thing especially on a stock LQ9 to be safe youll have to do alot of data logging to make sure your not going to do any internal engine damage. What other mods do you have done to your truck right now? If your close to stock I wouldnt even think about a turbo set up especially if your not familair with working on your own truck because it will get expensive, but if your pretty much stock now which maybe your not but if you are a turbo set up is a big mod to just jump into. I wouldnt even look at a turbo set up for a stock SS unless I had atleast 10 grand set aside and thats bare minimum, I myself plan on doing a turbo set up at some point down the road but im going to either find another LQ9 or find an LQ4 and build it for boost. Mods like that require alot of research and being familiar with how all the stuff works and what your buying and what not. If you really want to do some type of forced induction alot of people here have good luck with the magnachargers and prochargers I would look more into those unless your planning on spending alot of coin on a turbo set up because in order for it to be reliable youll have to spend money on the best parts other wise your truck will be parked more than its driven!
  22. There is absolutley no way what so ever you beat a lightning in your SS with just a cat back exhaust and a K&N air filter if you did the reason for that would either be its not a real lightning, or he wasnt trying to race you. Im not a ford fan at all but those lightnings rip not to say the SS doesnt rip but the SS has 345 stock to the crank and they have 380 so not only is that more power they are a good amount lighter plus they are supercharged. I'll say again theres no way you beat a lightning with a cat back exhaust and a K&N air filter, a stock lightning runs like a 13.8 quater mile I think our trucks run like a 14 something thats just the way it is. You need more than a cat back exhaust and an air filter to beat a lightning especially 3 of them! I can see maybe one due to he has a slipping tranny or he has a fake lightning but theres no way you beat 3 unless it was the same guy 3 times and he had a slipping tranny or a fake lightning all 3 times. Just saying facts are facts!
  23. Ya I love the way the 305s look on a wide wheel like that! I cant wait to see how my truck drives with the 420s
  24. Hate to say it also but Im sure you spent more money on that hypertech than you would have spent on a custom tune. The best thing you can do is ditch that hypertech id sell it on ebay because I dont think youll be able to get anyone to buy it on any of the chevy forums. I dont want to sound like an idiot but the best part about these forums are to find out tons of great info before you go out and by something thats a waste of money you might have purchased the hypertech before you became a member here and if thats then case then its understandable. But alot of those handheld progammars are just gimics and dont really do anything and in some cases can do more harm tha good to your truck. Im a big believer of doing everything the right way the first time like for example if you cant afford it right away then save your money for the best stuff dont try to find quick power. If I were you I would sell that hypertech on ebay and do a muffler swap, an intake, and a good tune from someone like black bear Wheatley, nelson performance, and theres tons more out there and usually they will be way cheaper than any hand held programmer and night and day better than any hand held programmer and also the tunes are made by professional tuners who know these trucks inside and out and know what they need and where they need it. I also dont have tons of money to dump into my truck so I just do it in steps and do plenty of research and ask tons of questions before I buy stuff and there are tons of guys on here who are more than willing to help! The biggest advise I can give you is to not cut corners and to do it right the first time. Power isnt cheap but done right youll have a fun truck! And again I dont want to sound like im insulting you! Just trying to help! So I hope this helps!
