  1. Ive driven the new Denali's and was not impressed. I would go buy an older SS anyday, hands down. If I wanted a 2nd truck Id do it like Chase did. The Denali's are too generic unlike the SS had to be shipped by railroad to a 2nd company to do all the SS related stuff like cladding.
  2. Ya thats the dual rear. The other setup I was speaking of was the same, just had the tips behind the rear wheels on each side. It indeed does have a nice rumble and no drone from when I drove it. Doesnt draw attention but can produce a nice roar when maxxed. I believe they are 3"inch tips. I want to go Corsa but wont happen 4 awhile so im thinking something like the Gibson as something to settle for in the meantime. With those headers Im sure it sounds alot nicer, only had the cat back on the Z-71
  3. Ive been waiting on this letter 4 awhile, does the delivering dealership who originally sold the vehicle to the 1st owner send the letter out? Or is it the dealership that I purchased it from send it out? I got mine from a Caddy/Hummer/GMC so Im wondering what to do...
  4. Welcome to the site from a chowdah head! Where did you get a set of both ducts? I might be interested in yours as I might paint them back to the original color or another theme Im thinking...Also how is the Gibson cat back? Loved it on the 5300 vortecs but never heard them on the 6000LQ9. Any sound clips by any chance and what exhaust is it? Dual extreme side, dual rear exit, or single side exit? I was thinking of trying to mock up the extreme sport but that exceeds 95 decibals and cops around here....Welcome to the site
  5. I dont think their will be another SS truck, period. I was told they threw around the SS badge way too much and wont do so again. Vehicles starting in 2003 with the Impala, Cobalt, Monte Carlo, HHR, and the others I cannot name. I only see them doing bigger and better engines for work applications on work trucks and the Denali will be your only choice, and I find those ugly, they dont seperate themselves from any other Sierra imo. Id keep the SS and just wait for better mods to come. I personally cannot stand that Fastlane SS. Id rather have the real thing than a copy. Plus with the ECSB you wont be flipping nearly as easily.
  6. Thats awesome about the headrest for your mastiff. My beagle sits right on the center console and most people driving by have to look twice like wtf? Vermont can be harsh but summer through those windy highway roads and scenery cant be beat. Now that is a real truck being used!!!!! I remember letting my older brother let him take the truck out to take my mom somewhere, guess he decided to take a quick little detour and took it mudding and doing donuts, truck came back and he was all smiles while I was, well not happy. But their trucks, I have to say I raged mine in the snow hard and never had so much fun, moreso than on the snowmobiles we dragged. Emo just remember to keep that throttle pinned through the corners or to avoid objects!
  7. I would look into Wilwood,Brembo and Baer, you get what you pay for. Also do the hydroboost. You can never have enough stopping power.
  8. It said "superior blue" when you started the post. Thats how I spotted it and thought I would be nice and give you the correct color of your truck.
  9. I would go 22s both front and rear (22x9.5 front 22x12rear). Bigger the tire like a 24 will only hurt your track times, but by only a little bit. Or maybe 20x10 front 22x12 rear, Im just not a big wheel person 20s are the max for me but I do like the bigger rear tire both length and width.
  10. I believe putting the transmission in 3 or D were the best launching applications. This was discussed not too long ago, might want to dig deeper in this certain section. Edit - heres the link, it was in the strip section, however with you having a different cam and stock tune, Im not sure what results you can expect... http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/70565-launching/

    Rpm Guage

Most likely the steppar motor/guage cluster assembly. My speedo was stuck over the 120mph mark. Had mine fixed (the speedo) and went to get some 93 gas down the road right after the fix and my fuel guage went. Got it fixed again and been fine.

    Fog Lights

  13. What were you trying to sell? BTW your truck is Arrival Blue, not Superior Blue...

    Fog Lights

That defeats the purpose of the airducts! Grab some TBSS fogs and install under the lower main grille. Good luck with which route you go
  15. Every opinion is different as each region has different road conditions due to snow and use of sand/salt/volcanic ash for traction in the snow. With that said I would only choose the Bilstein's like Hankg42, Edelbrock IAS (however they are $134 apiece but probably the best on the market) or just stay with the stock z60 suspension. Ive heard bad things about the belltech shocks, but that is only from people who live in my region. Others seem to like them alot. Im having a tough time deciding which I will get as I will need new ones, the Edelbrocks have a valve that opens when the road is bumpy and oil softens the ride and when the road is smooth the valve closes and firms the ride up. Bilstein's I will probably get as they are very good product and firms the ride up, or I might even stay stock z60 to keep the truck 100% OEM.
  16. That will be a sad sight to see an Intimidator hacked up for something that wont work. Im with you kissfan, these trucks will be worth something in the future. The only wannabe SS truck I see being made in the next 20 years is the Fastlane 427, in my opinion. Chevy probably will make a Sport edition similar to the SIerra Pro Sport, but not an SS. One again in my opinion.
  17. Drank beers and watched the wind and rain pour down. Was kinda boring....VT wasnt so lucky though up here in the Northeast.
  18. Ya I literally just spoke to the guy in charge and said "it wasnt even close to being hit" but I am going in to watch the tapes. I have one other spot to check as I saw kids trying to pry the chrome trim off the BMW last year, hit the alarm and they scrammed. Did not succeed in anything though as regards to the trim, they just wanted to put it on their civics most likely. No repsect anymore, I dont even want to take the SS out when its maintenance is done.
  19. I have a 2nd set, Chrome spokes Antrhacite Lip. Havent really thought of putting them on unless I get that Shopman1 Bowtie and Chrome Ducts he produces, then chrome the upper and lower grilles. I was never a fan of Chrome until I saw RaysB4U truck. edit - Always good to have her wanting more stuff on the truck!
  20. Umass Memorial. I highly suggest never going to any central MA hospital. Go straight to Boston. Took central MA hospitals/drs over 5 years and misdiagnoses then went to Boston in one visit and had 3 scheduled surgeries.
  21. Look at it this way, you got the same engine as an SS, minus the cladding which equals less weight. And white Vmax's are rare, wish they made them in SS trim.
  22. I believe Belltech has an axle flip kit for the rear and I DJM has control arms which will help you get lower up front. Might have to mix it up
  23. So I brought momma bear to the ER last week and turned out when we got home their was a scratch from driver side door to the gas cap on the 330xi. Also a similar scratch on the passenger side but not as long. The manager was very nice and said "I am sorry this happened, it should'nt happen when you visit a hospital." Then a guy approached us to take pictures and I got out a flashlight to show him. He then started talking about his silverado being the 2nd fasting in New England and his airaid intake costing $800 and 2/5inch exhaust piping with vette LTs and T4 products. I am not knocking him, but I think he might have been stretching the truch a little bit, I asked what motor he has and wouldnt respond. But he did say he had a blackbear tune, then changed his mind that his dad tuned his PCM. My mom dealt with him a couple days ago and he just gave her the runby. He also mentioned that they were having "camara trouble" which I assume is trying to get them out of the situation. Any info/help is appreciated as I it seems they are trying to get out of the situation. I spoke to the head of Valet and would like to watch the tapes with him. Not sure if that'll happen but I did thank him for co-opertation. The car is scraped passenger wheel fender to the mid 2nd door. I doubt this can be fixed by a buff as you can feel the indention marks. Where the scratches are, it is white, not sure if they scraped down to the bare metal but all clearcoat and paint is gone. I detail this car and know where the bad scratches are, but nothing compare to these new ones. Thier is more to the story like little details but these are the most important. The car was scratched on both sides, driver being the worst. Any info or advice would be appreciated, I would rather have them fix it by the dealership or a certain body shop in the North Shore of MA. So as I said, any feedback is appreciated. Thank you all. Any help or info would be appreaciated
  24. Belltech. Some members had issues with Mcgaughies but they might have fixed that. However I would still go with Belltech. The most I would go 2/2 if I ever lowered my SS. But anymore the other guys on the sight might will have better feedback.
  25. I will just say this. My moms car was scraped to poop at an ER visit, and the kid responsible is claiming he has the second fastest Silverado in New Engand with a high 12 second truck. You build that baby up and I will invite him and you can spank him. Sound good? Kid was telling me his Airraide intake costed $800 and its not even ram air . He was just talking crap as I told him I detail some high end cars and he thought it was cool to say his truck was faster than my SS. Get that built and i will have him up so you can put on a show on. He also said he had a Blackebear tune, then changed his answer that his dad tuned it. I dont know if he is for real or just full of it. Either way, good luck with your new build bud. edit - I would highly recomend Zippy hands down, or go with a Slowhawk tune in person. Zippy is the man.
