  1. ^Words to live by bro. Been watching the Sox in the Series and the hockey season just started so that is a major help to get my mind off the melanoma, and when I found out the truck was going on the road my face has not stopped smiling. I am really starting to notice how fellow members on here do help each other. Thank you for the positive words, and thank you to D1, KC, and CanadianVR for really helping on pulling this thread together and quick. Almost done collecting all parts :chevy:

  2. I am just choosing to stay stock KC. A lot have questioned me on why not to upgrade but 1 month shy of 8 years on the factory plugs, battery and wires is great for me (the battery was the demise and is why I am replacing plugs and wires also right now). Number 1 thing is to get the truck running with stock products. I know I could easily go with MSD, Taylor or Granatelli LS Motor wires, but I've just chosen to stay AC Delco.

Thank you CanadianVR, I appreciate it a lot man.

  3. So I am trying to get new stock AC Delco wires. Both the dealership and advanced auto they said I need to know what the last 2 ending letters of the coil packs are stamped with, it is either GG or HH. I researched both part numbers and one is 10.2" the other is 9 or right around their.

Were certain year SS trucks' coil packs stamped GG or HH? Or any other way to tell besides reading/looking at the coil packs? I would like to know before I bring it to be fixed up, but if the only way is by looking at the coil packs then I may just have to bite the bullet on the extra cash, the AC Delco wires are twice the price at the dealership than advanced. I have also been getting bargain prices at Advanced due to bulk, just need these to figure out these coil pack stamps for the wires so I can get these fixes done.

  4. OK, I'll add an oddball... Years ago, I owned two Mini's. Not the current version, the original! Both of mine were 1965 Morris Mini's. (It was also made under the Austin name.) I would love to have a late '60's Cooper S one day. More fun than just about anything! :)

AWESOME! I want to drive a street legal go kart! Hahaha

^^^^Those old school Mini's with newer M series powerplants are crazy! My mechanic use to do those. Love those little cars

  5. As far as CAI I really like K&N what do you recommend? Exhaust I really like SLP but not sure if they make any for this application what do you recommend?

The truck has magnaflows but not loud enough for me and I don't want straight pipe I want something loud and deep sounding not sure which to go with.

Check B&B (aka Billy Boat) exhaust. Quality is 2nd to none. Nice deep tone.

  6. I was curious if anyone is running Red Line fluids in their SS? Anything from their Motor oil, Gear oil, Auto Trans fluid or Power Steering fluid.

I was told by my BMW mechanic this is the best, he also likes Mobil 1 a lot. He said if I wanted to save a little bit of cash go with M1. But if someone has reviews or experience with Red Line Products I may go with them instead. The truck goes in to the shop in a week so as much input is appreciated.

    Thank you all in advance.

  7. Valentine1 for the win.^^^^^^

We need to start a list where people can put down the money for the product instead of just saying "I am in." I would gladly take charge of this but am moving so I cannot. I really really hope someone steps forwards and does this order, we need some pictures of the Shopman1 Bowtie on some trucks that have been on TOTM and it will bring interest I believe from newer members and others like myself who have had to delay or did not just do it at the time. Worst case I will try to do a group purchase next spring or summer. I would love a gold leaflet covered bowtie with the black SS graphic...lets keep it simple so the order does not get complicated :chevy:

ps Shopman1 I wish you were making the chrome brake duct molds still, same with the wheel well covers, just missed them when I joined back in 08 they are amazing products :pimp:

  8. request NipRing haha

It honestly does not surprise me they have not allowed any of these plates. They are very restrictive here but always thought swapping the 55 instead of SS may sneak by.....still on the chase to purchase the rights to a plate that is the original "427 LSX" and "427 SS" tags from MA, owner is not willing to budge yet which does not surpirse me :banghead: , maybe someday when I get those cubes he will sell them :chevy:

  9. You're doing pretty much exactly what I want to do! Good luck to you! I hope you get business out the ying-yang!

X2. Some guy had a dyno installed in the area only to be found illegaly racing at the track (non street legal cars) so he bit the dust. I have hopes of doing this when in remission if my barn allows

Sad to see the Suberban SS go, I remember watching a vid or two of it wayyy back. I hope bigger and better things I hope steer they way to you sir!

  10. Hopefully the guy that is doing the tune will follow those directions. All of the dyno sessions I have been to and had done, are not responsible for any damage to the motor/ drive train. Just a FYI.

Well said, if the shop screws up we are shit out of luck.

CHP definetly needs to be a sticky, but I do understand this is for the a truck with serious mods, just not bolt-ons. I know a spot that can do a 2wd dyno but I do not trust the shop, however I have found an AWD dyno about 45-60 mins from me.

  11. Boxed, lifted, and did the Chuck Norris routine! Lifted 250 x30, boxed 2 matches after high school everyday with kids a lot bigger/stronger (6'4+, 250lbs+).

The Chuck Norris machine is the better, however it will wreck your shoulders. I use to do 300 reps x4 a day to the point I tore my tendon in two spots. I miss those workouts.
