  1. I'm not sure what you'd run but my question is why remove all that stuff just for the track if thats not how it will ever be on the road. I'd rather have a time that I knew I could back up everyday traction permitting with out going through all that.
  2. They should come out with a 1 7/8 lt header in the $500-$600 range that would fit all 99-06 trucks while they are at it and then post it up on pt.net. I can just about guaranty they would sell way more of those than sss cat backs. Not saying they shouldn't make the cat back. Just say'in......hint.....hint....
  3. I doubt anyone will come out with a new cat back specific to SSS or VHO trucks 7 years after production stopped considering probably 95% of the other 99-06 trucks use a Y pipe.
  4. I think I saw a guy on ls1teck running those on his g8 making over 750 rwhp. He used some sbc to lsx exhaust adapters. I think they sell the adapters at jegs. I'd do a search on it.
  5. . But you are being a dick. I have some big block headers on my truck and those with my chromaly muffler bearings it sounds awesome.
  6. You might be able to hang with a zo6 at those speeds if your truck downshifted to 2nd gear and he never took his car out of 6th gear.
  7. It's a 14 bolt. I got some salvage yard 2 piston calipers on the way. I'm gonna slap those on and see how they work
  8. Does anybody know if I could swap some semi loaded 2004 SS dual piston calipers, pads, and rotors in place of single piston brakes. If so does anyone know if I would have the correct master cylinder to support those brakes. The option code for the original brakes that came with my truck is JF7.
  9. I bought a 2005 VHO silverado earlier this year and was going to change the rear brakes because my rear rotors are warped pretty bad. In the process of trying to figure what brakes I need I realized someone who owned the truck before me changed the factory drums to a single piston rear disc setup. The setup I have now doesn't look like anything special and I think is some kind of factory single piston disc setup off a cheaper Silverado or something. So my question is how crappy was the single piston Silverado setup and how much stuff would I have to change to get at least a factory 2 piston caliper brake system on my truck
  10. I can't speak for anyone else but nothing has helped me get from point A to point B in less time than the flux capacitor i put on my truck. It's highly recommended.
  11. I did a little research on these a while back on a couple camaro forums. From what I read on a LS3 they are best on near stock motors and make more torque down low on those motors than a maggie. Top end a maggie will make more power especially on bigger modified motors. Not sure how one would do on a Lq9. The kit for a Sss is 1577.
  12. I've seen a couple of posts like that on different forums. I was mostly wondering if the old 2500's and 1500hd's had the same frame as our trucks with just a heavier suspension and 4l80. If they were the same I was thinking someone could just use a crossmember and drive shaft from one of those trucks instead of modifying the stock ones. Unfortunately from what read the frames are not the same so it's not something that would just bolt right up.
  13. I have a couple of questions about making the swap that I have not been able to find. 1) If I could find a junk 2wd ecsb non HD 2500 or 1500HD and were able to get the trans, crossmember. driveshafts. and cooler lines. Would I be able to just bolt all that up without any fabrication besides the wiring harness.? 2) Does the lq9 use the same flexplate as the lq4 or would I need to change that also? 3) Has anyone put a 4l80 in a 2wd ecsb truck and changed to a 1 piece aluminum driveshaft? If so how did it workout?
  14. Anybody ever seen one installed. It's Supposed to be a Eaton tvs 2300 so I'd think it would be able to make so pretty good power. Never heard of anyone having one though.
  15. Turbo all the way if done properly. The problem is I don't think it is nearly as easy to get good turbo kit as it is to get a quality supercharger kit. If you got got the money or fabrication skills to go turbo then I'd definitely go turbo. Check out the turbo motors Nelson Racing Engines makes http://www.nelsonracingengines.com/videos/must-see.html and try to argue a supercharger over a turbo.
  16. What does Zippy charge for a tune and what's the best way to get a hold of him.
  17. If you have any questions about those headers and the fit I'd ask on that forum. Over there is the only place I've seen anything about TSP headers and it's always been about the 1 7/8 inch f-body ones.
  18. Their are several guys on the Performancetrucks.net running 1 7/8 TSP f-body headers on their trucks. If your interested in getting some 1 7/8 headers. From what I have heard the 6.0L and bigger motors like the 1 7/8 headers over the 1 3/4 headers. I guess it only works if you are 2wd but from what they say if you are 2wd they work really well. Here is a link http://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/gm-engine-exhaust-performance-21/who-running-1-7-8-bigger-headers-471855/ In this thread a couple of guys put them on their trucks. One guys has picks of them on his truck on page 5 and 12 of the thread.

FYI here's a top secret pic of 03mass's engine compartment.
  20. What's the small grill in the headliner over the driver seat. I have this vibration or motor running sound that is in my headliner and when u put my hand over that small round grill it cuts down on the noise a lot. Anybody know what that grill is and what the noise I'm hearing might be?
  21. Damn dude!!!! I said I was sorry!!!!!!! You are a cyber bully and you are starting to hurt my feelings!!!!!!!!
  22. Considering 8hnpSS has a Radix and your scared to race anything past 75 mph I'm sure both of you guys are a lot more knowledgeable than I will ever be on the pummeling I took. I would like to say I am sorry and admit there is probably just something wrong with my truck.
  23. Not doubting him but wanted to see real numbers with the mph difference. The fact that you added 60' times was really nice. Not that I am drag racing expert but at least I've been to the track enough to know that the easiest way to lower a et is by cutting down your 60' and that your mph is all about your hp. If all I got out of a tune was a .15 quicker et and the mph didn't really change I'd say it wasn't worth it. The 5 or 6 mph you got shows you got some horsepower out of it too.
