  1. If this guy thinks a push rod has any business being any where near a piston then he should just take his truck to a shop, tell them what he wants, and let them do the rest.
  2. Looks like I got a little trial and error to look forward to. I won't mind too much but my tires won't be too happy about it
  3. The 275/50/R17 DR's must not hook all that great. If someone wants to give them a shot, this might save you a little money. http://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/gm-parts-classifieds-23/racestar-17-x-9-5-tires-houston-530566/
  4. I'd love a ZR1 also but the current ones have been out for 5 years now and from what I've read they're going to discontinue the ZR1 in the C7. I'm sure the new Z06 or even the current one would kill this car on a road course. I just think GM needs to step up it's game right now because this thing shouldn't even be compared to a Vette. If you compare it to ZL1 Camaro, I don't think the Camaro wins that one.
  5. Thanks guys. The truck really needs a paint job though. Most noticeably all the wore of paint inside bed and on top of my bedrails from a plastic bedliner that was in the truck when I got it.
  6. Went for a hike this morning and the lighting seemed pretty good for a pic of the truck. Crappy cell phone pic but it covered the imperfections in my paint beautifully. lol
  7. Is meth with spray is that even a good thing? Either way it's definitely not what I would consider N/A. Anyway I don't really know who all thinks your a bad guy but until you hit your goals, your really just talking about a lot of theoretical stuff here. There lies the problem when your giving guys advise on how to build their engines and what cams to use. Until you do what you say your going to do your just talking out of your ass. It doesn't bother me, I couldn't care less myself. I already assume when I come on any car forum that half the people on them don't know what the hell they're talking about. I just try to use common sense to pick through the BS and listen to the people that actually have built cars or trucks doing the things I want my car or truck to do myself. If you do what you say your going to do, then people will listen and not give you a hard time about it. Until then your just big mouth who's offering advise that may or may not be any good. You got a lot of skeptics here now. Get that truck done, prove everyone wrong, and at that point nobody will give you a hard time.
  8. WORD!!!! I've been a GM guy for a while but that car is pretty bad ass. I don't think Chevy makes are car right now that I would take over one. Maybe if they come out with a new twin turbo ZR1 I'll change my mind.

  10. Does the position of the bars affect the ride or is it just the preload? I read someone on PT.net saying how if your 2wd with a turbo your better off on the top hole in the back and bottom hole in the front. If that's the case then I'll definitely be moving my bars around once my turbo kit is installed. It would be nice if it also helped ride a little because I've noticed these bars don't help the ride the way I have it now.
  11. I for one hope the kid makes his low 12 pass NA on a stock short block. He's gonna need the right tire, suspension, gearing, and torque converter all working together with his motor to get him a killer 60' if he is going to have chance. It probably won't be the most street friendly thing either but hey he'll show all you guys. The sad thing is once it's all done if he gets there he probably could have gotten a used Maggie, be able to run the same ET, while getting better gas mileage, still be able to tow, and have a perfectly street friendly truck for less. lol
  12. if I recall correctly they didn't have the mesh in the first test. Once they tried the mesh, then it was the best. Honestly I you'd be better off working on getting good 60' time than paying any attention to your tailgate up or down
  13. Here is something I saw on mythbusters It had to do with gas mileage and tailgates. I would assume the best gas mileage would also = the best at the track. http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/mythbusters/15-favorite-mythbusters-car-myths-7#slide-7
  14. Sounds good. I thought the code for women was sushi though.

    Me vs. 2014

Talking shit about Zippy is like picking a fight with Chuck Norris, Jack Bauer, and The Most Interesting Man on the Plant all At once, NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!! He already made you look silly once.
  16. Maybe I'm a little slow but is coffee the code word for BEER!!!! If so what's the code word for Jack Daniels??? In any case once my turbo is installed I'll definitely be up for some track days at Wild Horse Pass.
  17. Nope. I'm not that big of a A-hole to talk smack to someone who agreed with me. lol
  18. What make's "zero sense" to me now is why you would think anything I said was referring you, I didn't quote you. Unless you have more than one screen name???
  19. Just a little update. I ended up noticing a little whine from the 90K mile pump I put back on my truck. So I went on Amazon and bought a new ACDelco hyroboost style pump and a new pulley. I just got the new pulley because I didn't trust that the one I had wouldn't work it's self off over time after being on and off 5 different pumps. So anyway I think I'm finally done messing with this thing, I have absolutely no complaints about the new one. BTW Amazon was the cheapest I found it, about $100.00 plus tax with free shipping. That's cheaper than the shit rebuilt ones if you don't have a core.

    Me vs. 2014

Is it just me or am I the only one getting the feeling that somebody is getting the reputation for not knowing what they're talking about.
  21. I could understand not buying anything or buying his buddies roller rockers for 180.00 but at this point doing a trunion upgrade makes zero sense to me. What's he going to do with the $40.00 he saves by doing trunions at this point. If he has a dog he could buy his dog a nice big bag of dog food with that $40.00 you guys saved him. lol
  22. Yeah I've been watching you and WICKEDOWESIX to see if can steal any of your ideas but I don't plan on going as low as you guys. I got a 2' drop shackle in the back to level it out and don't really want to go any lower. I'm hoping a little more ride height will give me a little better weight transfer. Not sure if that's good logic or not.
  23. There's a lot of nice FI builds going on right now. I think I'm going to be the only 2wd one on the bunch and can't help but wonder how I'm going to do at the track once my truck is done compared to all you AWD guys.
  24. I've seen you and several others say the 1.8s are better than the 1.7s and I personally don't see why. If you plan on getting a new cam most are probably ground to be used with 1.7 rockers anyways. The only advantage to the 1.8s the way I see it is if you want more lift out of the cam you already have but don't want to change it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'd rather have the 1.7s myself. If it was me I'd get them.
