  1. I don't have a wideband yet, can I tune without one?
  2. Man if I had help I'd probably be done. Lol. Started on the LCA's. and had to break 2 wheel studs, I took it to the dealer last week to get the brakes flushed, they had air in the ABS. And I don't have a tech 2 to simulate the ABS and get the air out. And they cross threaded 2 lug nuts. So I took the air gun. And hit them till the snapped off. I'm gonna take them down to the dealership and demand they replace the parts. 2 lug nuts and 2 wheel studs. Dad woke up, and told me, we would take the truck to his work, put it on a lift. And do we can do the c-notch there. (Would have been nice to do the whole truck there lol. But oh well. So tomorrow going to finish up. My girls on her way over. So tomorrow shell be finished.
  3. If they wanna go then that's cool with me. If not then we can stay around here. And just do the 1/8th. What days do they have there test n tune?
  4. Pouring rain again. -_- I would probably be done already if it was raining so dang much. Pissing me off.
  5. Thanks for the tip. I'm gonna do the front LCA's then cut the frame.
  6. It will be a little lower than this as well. Right now it's all the way up against the bump stop. I'm waiting for my dad to get up to help me with the c-notch. Cuz I don't wanna F it up. So I want him to watch as I do the cutting etc. so he can stop me or give advice to make it easier, neater, etc.
  7. Rear tires on. Definitely need to use the c-notch. Shock extender is on. Havnt installed passenger shock yet, only thing left to do, cut old bump stops off. Install c-moth. It started raining again. So I'm inside waiting it out. Hopefully not very much rain right now. Put the rims on cuz I couldn't wait to see how they looked. And I'm very happy with them, hopefully when it all done there won't be that gap right there. If that gets taken up which I think it will. Ill be ecstatic.
  8. Awesome thanks. Ok I have a question now. For the rear shocks the kit says install on right side shock extender. Did that. Now it says install "this shock here" and a different shock driver side, but both rear shocks are the same. Do I still install the shock extender? Or?
  9. I have a torque wrench. I'm blessed to be the son of a journey man mechanic. If I don't have the tools to do a job. I don't deserve to work on a vehicle. Haha. What are the torque specs do you know?
  10. Got the leaf springs installed. Axle over the spring, just gotta install u bolts, driveshaft, and then the c notch. Only 3:48 minutes into the whole thing. Making good time I think. Once I got the axle over the springs, it's been pretty easy since then.
  11. Thanks. Ya I'm hoping the stepsise looks good lowered. I've never seen one the way I want it done. It's a pita doing this by myself. I'm using tie straps as my "helpers" lol. Lol those are my extra hands lol
  12. Well. Not sure if this is the right section. But I got my 3/5 lowering kit in the mail yesterday. So I started taking the truck apart. (Quick shout out to norcalSS for an amazing kit. At an amazing price.) I'm doing a rear flip kit. And front LCA's. with belltech shocks, and a rear sway bar. So I started on the rear end, I've never touched a vehicle to lower it. Never messed with leaf springs, nothing. So far I'm into the truck a total of 3~ hours. And it's raining on and off so I gotta keep picking tool up move them inside when it stops raining I get back put there. Wish I knew you had to drop the tank to get the front driver side leaf spring off. I just filled up 26 gallons. Before I started working on it -_- so I'm not dropping that tank. So I took the tow hitch off. (I have a 2001 RCSB z71). I'm turning into a replica SS. So first I took just passenger side leaf off. Hoping I could get that side on. Pull it that way then put it over driver side leaf. (Can't, unless you unhook the cables, and hoses to the rear end. So tow hitch came off and back driver side leaf came down. And I Maneuvered it around the axle. 30 minutes later I had succeeded. So I'm all pumped up. And ready to finish this thing! And it starts raining -_- so I'm inside right now. Waiting for it to stop starring out the window. I havnt started on the front yet, and I finish the back ill start up there. Ill get some pics up soon. I didn't get a before pic of it sideways. Wish I did. But here are some random before pics. New update coming in a little. Rained died down. I'm gonna go back to work. While my confidence is still booming from figuring out how to get it over the leaf spring haha
  13. Sweet. Doesn't have to be a huge meet. What days work for you guys? I like the Irwindale idea. Because I like going to the drag strip, or barona speedway. That ones just far from me. What do you guys think?
  14. Ok. So I got everything figured out, I forgot I had a Hypertech programmer on it, (to adjust tire size) and I adjusted shift points. And put the 87 tune on it. I took it off. Downloaded stock tune back on the PCM. Stored that on my computer, saved 3 times 1 to edit, 1 for stock, and a stock back up. Here are some pictures of stock logging. Still looking at the tune, and I'm confused out of my mind. Haha. But I'm just taking it one step at a time. Thursday, Friday Saturday are my days off. And I'm going to sit down and look at it till I can't see anymore and hope that something clicks. Haha.
  15. I did install Doug's headers on my 4x4. And the AWD/4x4 I believe are pretty much the same. I would email the guy and ask. If he says they fit, and they don't, then it's on him. I can't confirm if these are the exact ones I installed. It was almost 2 years ago. But I'm pretty sure they are the same.
  16. So I picked up the EFIlive, and have been messing with the scan function. I'm working with EFIlive to get my registration key so I can tune it. Lots of features. Most I have no idea what they mean haha. But so far I've found out a lot of good info I think. But I was a little confused on my injector size. I have a 2001 5.3l. But it has 42lb injectors. According to EFIlive. After some research that seems way high. I though the 5.3l came with like 28lb an hour injectors? Or 32. Something like that. 42 seems pretty big. Also my max g/cycle was .60 is that about average? Again I thought I read somewhere that a guy who was running a turbo at 8 psi was only at like .80. Or so. So .60 seems kinda high. (I'm probably wrong). I couldn't find what PID read injector duty cycle. Also my AFR according to EFIlive at WOT is 11.57. There's a lot more info But I'm just going from memory as I'm at work. Not at home. When I get my registration key ill look at the tuning parameters. And then go from there and adjust things.
  17. With the tune can I correct the Pcms boundaries? Or do I have to write a custom os? And what exactly is a custom OS or a stock OS I guess?
  18. Oh ok. So my stock MAF, should be ok up to 8-10psi? It shouldn't max out? What if I got a bigger MAF, and a bigger intake? Would that allow the MAF to read more air?
  19. I have these Installed on my 5.3l I've had them on for a while over a year. Not sure if its exact same part # but mine fit on the 4wd Silverado. Fit great. I just edited my stock y pipe. (Pain in the ass) but they run great! Top end power I creases alot. I felt like I lost a little low end grunt. But after ~3k the truck really comes to life. They sound really good. I have these, stock y pipe, cats, and 3" cat back custom mandrel bent exhaust with a 40 series flow master. Sounds awesome. And noticed a gain in horsepower. For 400 it's a steal. After a year. The headers look good, and are still coated with a little fading. But that's to be expected on a daily driver. In snow, rain, dirt, etc. I'd ask if they fit the AWD before buying but pretty sure these are the same ones I bought. Also for us Cali guys, at least on my truck, these were California smog legal. 99-02 I believe these are Cali smog legal. Don't know why only 99-02 but that's what mine said.
  20. Ok what do I need for my truck to read boost? Just a 2 bar map sensor?
  21. Ok decided I'm sticking with a MAF tune. At least to start maybe ill change with more boost but for now just going to stay with this MAF. To run 8psi will I need to get a different MAF sensor? Or will the stock one work?
  22. Thanks man I appreciate it. And ya that's my plan is just reading like crazy. I was gonna buy a DVD series. But when I looked it up it was 300$ :O. So I'm gonna just try and find a few books. Ill pick up EFIlive this weekend and practice on my base tune.
  23. Where do I get the water from for the intercooler? From the radiator? A Reservoir, or?
