  1. Probably a failed or failing wheel bearing.
  2. You sure you don't have an exhaust leak? It may be cowidience after the oil change that it got louder....
  3. I thought that as well but from research I've done it should work. As long as it is not a metallic color should be ok. Will find out soon like I said I bought a new one to paint to match. Hopefully in the next month I can get a free weekend to paint the parts and do my rear bumper repair.
  4. I saw that. I want it tinted to match my truck. O well.

I would worry that they don't pack it right and it gets destroyed. I had that happen I bought one of the last moulding for an old 80s GM car I had recently from vintage parts. They folded the moulding up and destroyed it. You may be better off driving to get it. I would also make them physically put their hands on and make sure it's ok. I drove 2 hours to get a part for my SS from a dealer. Got there and the box was empty. Man was I hot!
  6. Have him paint your XM antenna while he is at it... lol. I bought a new antenna to paint to match on mine. I'm waiting for it to cool down as my paint booth (outside) is still too hot. I about crapped my pants when the paint supply place told me what a quart of good PPG paint was going to cost. I know red is expensive but DANG! I'm hoping with all the little stuff I am painting I can get by with a pint!

Have you tried the dealer? Just curious why you have to restore... did something happen to it? 2007's are pretty rare....
  8. I have the Baer slotted and drilled rotors and have zero problems. Now I only have about 6k on them but so far seem good. I think if you go cheap they won't hold up but these were a lot.... Probably double what I could have bought a cheap set for. My wife's Benz with the AMG package has crossed drilled pizza platters and no problems with it either.
  9. I would say look at what current book is for your miles and year and subtract 3-4 grand for dirty title. Wheels and topper don't really add much value sorry to say. I would also say the reason for dirty title may change value as well. A light hit repaired with all OEM parts would affect value different (I would say less of a impact to value) then say a flood or heavy hit where truck has had every body panel touched. Good luck with your sale.
  10. Ah that may not be repairable. It's not cast iron it's just cast aluminum. They chose not to chrome the whole thing just the part you see. Lol.
  11. Welcome. If your trying from a phone good luck uploading. I usually do from a computer. This site limits your file size, your other option is to use a photo hosting service and past the link.
  12. I wouldn't believe that article... it is showing a '15 front end. They could have at least updated with a '16 truck. I still have some friends over at the General. I'll ask but I'm telling you everyone has walked away from the sport truck market. There are not as many urban cowboys as there used to be.... lol.
  13. Depending on the damage there are companies that repair aluminum wheels, some are even mobile and can come to you. We used one when I was at the dealer for used cars.
  14. Yeah.... To me that screams been in an accident and they didn't pay attention when removing the old badges.
  15. Believe it or not it had a "tuned" exhaust that was a little louder than a stocker 5.3. Not much but a little..... That was in the days before all these cool duel mode exhaust like GM vehicles have now.
  16. I doubt it.... the "sport truck" segment seems to be ignored by everyone right now. You could build your own... get the package with body color bumpers.... throw in some rims... lower and add a loud exhaust and you'd have a modern SS. LOL.
  17. Slightly off topic but I did a search for Silverado ss to see what came up. They had a buch of stuff with this on it...... Nothin' says 'merica like an American flag and a SS pickup..... Lol. http://www.zazzle.com/2006_silverado_ss_statuette-153470696517411276
  18. Time to find a new shop. If they told you to boost a 4.3 they are idiots. The 4.3 isn't a terrible engine but they were prone to intake leaks and were thirsty as hell. I had many S trucks with that motor. I bought several with engine problems (all related to leaky intakes) that I flipped or drove for a while then sold.
  19. Post is from 2 years ago.... Hopefully they figured out by now.
  20. Good idea.... Wives don't generally like to walk. So if your not buying one of the ones above care to share where they are at?
  21. So did you pull the trigger on one?
  22. There was a guy on here selling new GM bumpers for around 300ish. Not my sale but I saw post in the FS section. He had a six pack of them.....
  23. The post is from 2012..... I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's sold.
  24. Yeah is there some specific reason you want to use 0w-20? I agree in cold climates that would work well but IMHO the engine should be designed to use that oil. I would guess the tolerances are tighter on a 0w engine. I'm not sure I would use that on an older engine that was designed with a heavier oil. Im of the school if you use synthetic from day one your ok. I didn't have any history on my truck so I have no idea what the former owner ran. Since synthetic has so much more detergent I didn't want to run risk not knowing what the motor looked like inside. When I had the valve covers off it was pretty clean but I still am using a blend oil (Dexos).
