  1. I don't think such an animal exists. Everything that is out there is cat backs so it goes from stock exhaust back. Due to all the variations in header length (long, short, block huggers, etc etc) you won't find a chose your own adventure system.... Sounds like you need to find a new muffler "guy".....
  2. That's typical. Aftermarket stuff is "close" but not exact. I put a bumper cover in my wife's friend Equinox. I got a CAPA certified which is "supposed" to be same quality as OEM. Yeah right. Had one hole not drilled and didn't fit that great.... You get what you pay for.
  3. Yeah it's a little expensive for shipping but I have never seen an SS shirt before. So I'm gonna have to buy one.
  4. I bought a really nice one as well. Mine the previous owner never used the bed. I park out a mile away and have avoided door dings. I use it to mostly commute to work. I've picked up a few rock chips but I enjoy driving it. I average like 500 miles a month so I'm not piling the miles on. I have 4 other cars in my stable so it helps keep the miles low on all of them. Lol
  5. I found this on ebay... I may have to get one! http://www.ebay.com/itm/182088690586?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&var=483273837931&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  6. Yeah that doesn't look bad. 06s are hard to find.... I'm always looking and they seem hard to come by compared to the other years. I'm always shocked but I guess I shouldn't be surprised with people on Craigslist. In one pic it looks like he has a dirty Kleenex on the center console. People if your trying to sell you clean the hell out of it and make it look nice not snap a couple of quick pics with dirty floor mats and all your junk inside..... End of rant. Lol. After looking closer I'm not so sure about this ad. First picture the truck looks like it has black brake ducts in the front and no license plate. One picture looks like it was at a new car auto show and the pictures of a Texas truck has a front license plate.... Hmm.
  7. Welcome, I have the volant notwithstanding the paper Donaldson power core filter. I am not a fan of the oiled filters which is why I went the paper route....
  8. The SS trucks never had a duel exhaust. Maybe post some pics? The exhaust pipe from the muffler back was a single pipe. Sounds like you may have an aftermarket system?
  9. Yes, even when the fan is not engaged it is still using power to turn. They typically don't turn as fast when they are not engaged. Besides freeing up a few extra hp it helps with fuel economy.... This is why now you see electric fans on all trucks now.
  10. I would love to but we just had a little one so gonna have to wait. ?
  11. That's creepy. Advertising at it's finest!
  12. Was searching the ol interweb and found this vid from a few years back. http://ls1tech.com/articles/burnout-fridays-silverado-ss-fumigates-tx2k13-for-contest-victory/
  13. They guy I got mine through was like buickman but I think they are out now.
  14. You could ship for probably 5-600 bucks.... Just saying ?
  15. Are you sure about that? I think you can still get an OEM grille. They used to be available in pre painted colors. Now they are primed and paint to match.
  16. I used AC Delco for the plugs and valve cover gaskets. For the wires I bought Delphi wires. Delphi made the original wires and I couldn't justify double the money (literally) for Delco wires. I picked up everything from Rock Auto.
  17. Go look at ebay... I bought two off a place to replace a couple of mine that had some weird lines on the bowtie part. They were a third what new ones run and were brand new but minus the package. Not sure the back story but it is the genuine GM part (has the logo on the back molded in).
  18. You probably have a leaking valve cover... cause that's what I had going on. Well not anymore as I did the valve covers... it was an easy job.
  19. Yeah I'm always real careful to avoid electrical connectors and such. I did get some water in my alternator and it was screaming for a little bit... I was a little worried but it was fine after a minute of running. Lol
  20. While I was off last week I finally got around to doing a tume up on the 'ol SS. While I only have 58k and truck ran fine I did a tune up anyways. Plugs looked good and I probably could have gotten away with still using them. I check the gap and they were still pretty close to spec. I always thought the wires might be tired after 10 years and I was right. Not in terrible shape but truck runs a lot smoother now and generally seems happier. I used to have more of a "heartbeat " at a stop light but now smooth as glass at idle. I took the opportunity while I had wires off to replace my valve cover gaskets as they were starting to leak. I steam cleaned the engine so it looks new again..... Lol.
  21. It may be helpful to load more pictures and tell your location. I'm curious how you hooked blue tooth to your truck. The GM nav radio never came with BT. Good luck with your sale.
  22. You would probably be better off buying a tailgate locally and then getting the cladding. Sheet metal doesn't ship well..... Just saying.
