  1. My truck was doing similar. Front brakes wouldn't release.Replaced the front calipers and rotors, that didn't help. I had a spare master cylinder, so I swapped that out and all new fluid. Not the issue, so next I got inline tube stainless steel brake line kit and new brake hoses. Haven't finished the installation, as I have a few other projects going on. I converted my brakes to hydro boost, and it worked well for a good stretch of time. I believe the ABS releases the brakes, so that shouldn't keep them pressurized. I am going to swap my proportioning valve also, to play it safe. These trucks love eating up some $$$$$
  2. I am considering leaving my wife and buying this beautiful V ehicle.............
  3. Best of luck with your repairs & paint. Sounds like you found the right guy for the job. She's gonna be happy to be super straight and clean once again!!!!!
  4. PM sent in regards to your hood.
  5. Yes sir, and as mentioned get the brake pedal from the hydro boost truck. Very straight forward worth while install.
  6. Cool deal thanks Richard, Yes I am going to replace the rear pads and rotors to match the fronts. I have not over heated the new front brakes, as I have taken the truck off the road until this issue is resolved. I will post the outcome......
  7. Of course this happens when my wife was driving. Down town Detroit off ramp truck won't go, brakes smoking. I head down to assist, there's a State police officer behind her lit up just to help. So I switch wifey trucks, so she can proceed to work, jump in the SSS after a brief conversation with the officer, and off I go. Had to stand on the go pedal to get her moving. Just said F***it and jumped on the free way and just rode hard until I burnt the brakes loose. Got home and figured time for new front brakes. Ordered up new front calipers, slotted front rotors, and pads. Truck already has hydro boost upgrade and 07 up larger front rotors. Worked fine a few hundred miles and started not releasing pressure again. Had a clean spare master cylinder that came with my hydro boost conversion, so I swapped that out, as I retained the original m/c when conversion was performed. Fluid was nasty for sure! Bench bled the m/c, and bled the brakes until all fluid was clean. I did notice the rears would bleed good and then not push much fluid and then good again. Now it seems worse, can't even drive locally without brakes staying clamped down. If I get out and release pressure @ bleeder, it releases the brakes so I can continue on my way. I just ordered all 5 new AC Delco brake hoses, that's next. The calipers are properly lubed and float freely on the pins. I am thinking proportioning valve.... The next time I take it out I am going to pull the m/c from the booster and make sure the piston isn't sticking. I have a hard time believing that I had 2 bad m/c's in one week. The m/c I just installed was part of a complete swap kit that I purchased from a member here, was told and believe that it only had 40 k on it. It was clean inside also. The system worked fine all last summer and fall, truck came out of winter storage early, wifes suburban was crashed into and under repairs. Sorry aboyt the long post, just looking from a little insite from all you guys that know whats up! Thanks
  8. Welcome! I just picked up a 35th SS camaro over the weekend. It's the red w/ silver stripes, all original, from Florida super clean! #1147, it's an auto car..... Any ways, you will love the SSS, it's a great truck in so many ways!
  9. So how do I go about getting hold of Steve? Thanks Never mind, found it
  10. Had mine differential rebuilt. Cost a grand, well over 2,000 miles since and rolling fine! I tried changing the fluid first, but that only helped quiet it down for about 2 miles. The noise got bad quick, ended up causing more damage, which led to half of the case needing replaced.
  11. I will be in lake city this weekend with some cash on hand. Do you know how close that is to you? I would like to meet up and make the deal if thats possible???
  12. Yeah as long as nobody breaks its always a good time at the track. A turbo build on your T/A huh???? That sounds like a fun project. I wanted to get a base time on my truck this year, I was rolling to the track and my buddy talked me into riding with him that day. He has a trailered 69 camaro that runs high 10's, it was supposed to be busy at the track day. I bet that I could have made 15 passes , lets just say he will never ask me to ride with him to the track again. Any ways I will try and get a baseline early next year, I am building up a parts pile to make the heavy girl just a bit quicker.
  13. Thanks for the recipe Bryan, it's on now
  14. Thanks John, I will get on some pics posting asap. Good looking out with the step by step how to brother.
  15. Sounds like a good time to me !!! I have yet to run my truck, but i certainly will take it to the track a few times next year.
  16. GLWTS. Seems like a good deal. Enjoy the D MAX, there fun to mess with also. I am just getting the parts together to do the Dura/ Allison swap to my 2500 Burb'.
  17. Alex, that looks great! John, yes I did use feta cheese. I am technologically challenged when it comes to posting photo's . I will get it figured out and post some good ones soon. Bryan, I can handle cooking the beer way, so if you get a chance to detail your gumbo recipe i will definitely give it a go! BTW that Octoberfest Sammy A is looking good in the back ground also.....
  18. Good call on that recipe John, turned out delicious! Between you and Bryan with all those great food pictures I cant cruise thru the site without checking in on this thread. Keep Em coming guys, and I promise that I will keep trying them out. Any chance Bryan would share his gumbo recipe.......
  19. ^^^ LOL thats a great deal, yeah I live in the county in Michigan that also houses Detroit........ I believe that may have something to do with my rates. I'm at $1,450.00 a year if I leave it covered as driven all year. Gotta love a no fault insurance state !
  20. Doesn't look bad. I am lucky enough to have my truck stashed in the garage for the winter. I just put the storage insurance on the beast until the spring, save's me a cool Benjamin every month!
  21. Mine was stolen and luckily recovered! It is a sick feeling, I do hope that you get your truck back!!! Best of luck to you.
  22. ^^^ what he said. It does look good, and gotta love great results!
