  1. OK, I'll try it. I'll let you know how it goes.
  2. I'm running Windows XP. I don't have a problem reinstalling as anything important was already moved to a external HD, but if I don't have to, I don't want to. It is my second computer now that I have a MAC so I'll just be using it as an internet/music computer in the garage. Do you have any suggestions besides reinstalling Windows? I'm willing to try anything before having to reinstall.
  3. Hello all! Haven't been on in a while because of computer issues so I ended up purchasing a new MAC instead, but I would still like to have my PC working. Here's the problem, I can get the PC to get on what seems like secure sites like Paypal, my credit union, etc., but not just regular sites like this one or any other forum for that matter. People have been telling me it's a firewall issue, but I've turned it off with no results. Other people have told me it's a router problem, but I have that same PC wired to the router now and the MAC on wireless. The MAC hasn't had any internet issues and my iPhone also gets on my wireless network without any issues. One thing that did happen was my PC got infected with a virus, but my partner took care of it without having to reload windows. I'm wondering if that virus did something to some settings. Any help would be appreciated! Please be specific too as I'm pretty familiar with Windows, but I'm no IT guy. TIA!
  4. They are CFR's and yes they are louder, but not obnoxious at all. It just sounds very deep.
  5. Thought I would update this thread. I ended up purchasing a chopped tour pak and a cyclevision light bar eliminator. I also purchased some vented lowers. It's detachable so I can roll like this as well! I ended up changing out the exhaust. I'm now rolling with the left pipe. Sounds 10X better! I already ordered my rims so they are on the way. Got a nice little touch too! Already ordered another air cleaner too and front fender as well. I did alot this winter!!!
  6. Is it a shortbed? I'm having a hard time looking at it sideways, neck hurts! May be interested in short bed. Are you giving up cash in a trade?
  7. Since I'm not really getting any interest, how about a trade? I'm looking for a quad cab GMC, '08 or '09 or '10.
  8. Ya, I need to take it in for a service. Take care!
  9. Hey Dylan I'd be interested in those factory wheels if you plan on selling them. Let me know.
  10. A new years bump! Truck is now sitting. No longer a daily driver.
  11. I'll chime in here since I've done my fair share of purchasing high end cables. I have a 7.0 Denon, Definitive Technologies system with a 58" Panasonic plasma in my family room. It's not a high, high end system, but it wasn't cheap for me either. I purchased several high end Monster HDMI cable and of course it did it's job. The picture and sound are exceptional. In my bedroom, I have a 54" Panasonic plasma hooked up to my Direct TV box via HDMI. I got those cables from Costco. It was a kit with two 12' HDMI cables and cleaning supplies for the plasma. I didn't go high end in the bedroom because it just wasn't all that serious. The picture in the bedroom looks better than the picture in the family room. Now to say it's the cables, I doubt it. Alot has to do with picture settings IMHO. I just think my plasma in my bedroom is more dialed in than the family room. I would definately purchase those cables from Costco again if there is ever a need.
  12. Welcome Where are the pics? Should have bought mine. I'm located in LB as well.
  13. No line is ever drawn on a collection! I have kind of slowed down a bit. Now I only buy heavyweight cruisers ('78-'82) that are in great shape. I won't buy junk and try to fix them up by buying more bikes to donate parts. I also have really stopped buying mens bike. There is only one more mens bike I have a need to buy and I still haven't found one yet. If I do, I will buy it! Right now, I'm into these womens bikes that are five speeds. I myself have only seen maybe 3-4 womens frames with gears. They do not pop up that often. Most collectors turn away from womens bikes, but I don't. I feel they are more a rarity than the mens bikes especially when they have gears. As for taking it apart, there are reasons. On this particular bike the crank didn't turn very well, the derailluer was full of grease, sand, etc. that it has picked up over the years along with the chain. The fork is bent a bit and it just needed an overall cleaning and greasing. I like to tinker with these bikes. There is alot the bike parts tell me. Like when I take the crank apart, I can tell the year of the crank to see if it matches with the year of the bike. The stem also has date codes on it. The fork is currently being repaired and when I get that back I will start the assembly. The bearings and chain have been soaking for a day and should be clear from all the dirt and grime of 20 plus years. When I put it back together, it's better than new with the exception of paint chips which I don't mind, it adds to the patina of it IMO. I like to make sure my bikes are ready to go when I need them so taking them apart, cleaning them, greasing up the bearings, etc. just assures me that when it's time to ride, they are ready. BTW: When I'm done it will look better than it does in that picture.
  14. Picked up another one yesterday. It's currently in pieces getting cleaned and greased. December 1980 womens Cruiser 5 This one is a little odd since it has the rear caliper brake instead of the drum like my red one. Note how the rear brake cable is situated at the caliper.
  15. I was the same way when we first bought our house. Didn't move in for a whole year cause I was working on it. Then we added 1200 square feet. I guess I didn't get enough the first time. It was all worth it though because our house is exactly how we wanted it and the fact that I shouldn't have to do any major work for a while puts a smile on my face. As for the bikes, it has become a hobby for me somehow. I'm always looking on Ebay, Craigslist, etc., for more bikes and parts. It seems when I think I'm done, another bike pops up that I want. Initially I was going to sell that red Spitfire 5 after I picked up the womens Cruiser 5 for my wife, then I realized it's my only Spitfire 5 in the collection so more than likely I'll be keeping it. I just picked up some slightly used Schwinn Studded Balloon whitewall tires for the Spitfire 5 so I could sell it, but I've changed my mind. It currently has some NOS ones on there now and no way am I going to let those go. As for the value of the bikes, back when the economy was doing good, these cruisers were going anywhere from $500-$1000 on ebay. Now they are going for around $300-$500. I figure I'll snatch up ones that are in great shape now and if I ever need to, sell them when the econmy comes back.
  16. I just picked up another one. 1982 Womens Cruiser 5 (Red) Since I never did post pics of the collection, here they are............. 1980 Mens Cruiser 5 (Sky blue) 1980 Mens Cruiser 5 (Chestnut brown) 1976 California Cruiser (Red) only about 500 made 1979 Spitfire 5 (Red) 1980 Womens Cruiser (Black single speed) 1972 Town & Country Trike (Sierra brown)
