  1. IMO it doesn't make sense to buy a stand alone BD player. The PS3 does everything a stand alone does plus it can get firmware updates via wifi and plays games if you are into that. I made the decision to go with a PS3 back in the day and never regretted it. It's part of my home theater.
  2. We went with all stainless GE Profile appliances. Fride- side by side doors up top with two sliding bottom freezer drawers down below Range- convection slide in with a tile backsplash Micro- over the range Dishwasher Stainless under mount sink It's all a matching set. I didn't want to go with stainless, but this is the wifes place so she got what she wanted. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't do stainless. It's a PITA to clean and with a little one, it's even worse. It looks bad ass though when it's all clean! As for a washer and dryer, I'm old school. I'd rather buy some old used washer and dryer that I can work on, not all these new fancy washers and dryers that have computers in them. Especially if they are not going to be seen by anyone. Why waste that kind of coin? I believe we have Whirlpool in white.
  3. Alright, here are the pics! I didn't take them head on because of the flash. Panasonic 58" Plasma Denon 3808CI AVR PS3 Panamax M5300-PM Direct TV HD box (2) Definitive Technology 7002 Bi-Polar super towers (12" powered sub in each tower) (1) Definitive Technology 2300 C/L/R center channel (8" powered sub) You can see that grey cord sitting on top of the cabinet. That is for my iPods. I had originally purchased a Denon iPod dock, but did some reading about it and decided to take it back. The only advantages to having the dock is it can be controlled with the 3808 remote and everything can be shown on the plasma. It's supposed to display album art as well. I don't really care for all that. I'd rather just keep it simple enough for my wife to use. With the cord, all I have to do is plug it into the headphone jack of any iPod, play a playlist, and walk away. To me, it's just easier to set up a playlist I like to hear and let it go. One more downfall to the dock was I couldn't use my first generation Nano. The dock only supported certain iPods which I thought was weak! I just place the cord behind the cabinet when not in use. What can I say, we love Rockband 2! Here are the in ceiling surround speakers. (4) Speakercraft AIM8 2's Just to give you an idea of what this room is like, it's about 30' X 25' with ceilings starting at about 8' and a peak of about 12' (vaulted.) The pic I took of the 7.0 system is from behind a very large "U" shaped couch spanning the length of the in ceiling speakers with carpet. Behind the couch is the dining area w/tile and to the rear left is the kitchen area with a large island that can seat about six where they can sit, eat, and watch. I didn't go with a dedicated sub as of yet because of the three powered subs that I already have. I may go with one or two later on.
  4. I looked into this when we were doing our addition and additional garage. They are not cheap at all! I believe the two post was a decent price, but the four post was expensive.
  5. I got it all hooked up and running, sounds amazing! I was going to take some pics, but of course my camera is dead. It's charging as I write this and as soon as it's done, I'll snap some and post em up.
  6. Mine is an Electra Glide Standard. It's the only model bagger that came in the denim black, reason why I bought it.
  7. $100.00 a month??? How long would it take to pay off? If $400.00 a month seems excessive to you, how about a $700.00/month SSS payment with 0% interest sound?
  8. Harleys aren't that out of touch. I thought they were myself until I looked at them and financed mine through my credit union. I picked up my '09 for my birthday last August after I paid off the SSS. The payment is only $100.00 a week. That's nothing!
  9. I'll get some pics when it's all done. As for my ceiling speakers, they are just for surround so it's not a big deal. The three main front speakers is where 99% of the sound comes from, reason why I matched all three. I could have went with in walls for the fronts, but I like having the big towers up front so I wired accordingly. I got the Denon 3808CI from Best Buy for $1K. It was originally marked $1699.00. They also had a deal on the next step up from mine (don't know the model #), it was marked down to $1500.00 and you got a set of Def Tech bookshelf speakers for free. The guy tried to get me to purchase that one, but for that extra $500.00, I really didn't see the need as I'm probably in way over my head with the 3808 as it is.
  10. Funny this thread came up as I'm currently doing my 7.1 in our addition. This is what I have: Denon 3808CI AVR Panamax M5300 Panasonic 58" plasma PS3 mostly for Blu Ray (2) Definitive Technologies towers 7002 (12" powered sub) (1) Definitive Technologies center 2300 (8" powered sub) (4) Speakercraft ceiling speakers AIM2 I don't have a dedicated sub for the system yet. I'm going to wait to see if it will be needed since the towers and center channel both have powered subs. If it does need one, I definately will get a Definitive Technology. Anyways, I can't say how it sounds yet because the three front speakers won't be in till Thursday. I'll hook it all up soon after. That Denon 3808 is crazy with all the stuff that it can do. I got the receiver for a good price and I can't wait to get it all going.
  11. Sounds like a recall is in order.
  12. Congrats man!! I remember when we bought ours. It needed soooooo much work, but we stole it for $142.5K at the time. Alot of doors will open up for you like it did for us. Our house started out at 777 square feet with a one car garage. We added 1200 square feet and a 500 square foot two car garage in the back so now the one car garage is a drive thru with garage doors on both sides. It's hard work if you do it yourself, but well worth it in the end. I forgot to add that I'm currently looking for an investment property. Hopefully a duplex. Another thing my home has allowed me to do.
  13. For that price, you can get a better one installed with a lifetime warranty. That's what I have. It also won't slide out, instead inside and unseen. I personally think the factory sunroofs like like sh*t, that's why I went aftermarket, but then again, sunrrofs weren't available when I got mine.
  14. This is probably a shot in the dark, but I was wondering if anyone installs covers here? I have a SnugLid SL and last night before work the damn thing wouldn't unlock so I couldn't get my work gear out. This would be the second time this has happened. Is there a trick to opening the cover when that happens? I have the remote feature as well if that helps. I know this may be a security issue so if you don't want to post it, I understand. Maybe a PM???? TIA
  15. Nice ride! When my wife was pregnant she had a Nissan Altima. I got rid of that quick and purchased a Yukon XL in pewter. I love her truck! I love driving and riding in it because it rides nothing like my SSS. As a matter of fact, I'm going to be putting my truck up for sale soon because it's her turn for a new ride and was thinking of getting her either a Escalade ESV or the LS Lexus. The Yukon will become mine.
  16. I'd like to get a PAC unit installed on my Harley. Does he do installs on bikes?
  17. I owe nothing, nada, zip! It's all mine! I guess it just makes it easier when I get rid of it.
  18. Damn, I've been away for a while. Looks like it's going to be a good turnout. Might have to stop by if I can.
  19. Cleaning out my garage! It's been sitting in my garage since I got the cowl hood. It's been boxed up in the cowl hood box so there should be no dents or scratches. I'll entertain offers of $100.00 and above, but you have to come pick it up! NO SHIPPING! It's located in 90810. Just send a PM if interested.............
  20. Ya, this house has a pool and it's a short sale.
  21. My partner is currently waiting on a home in there. I think they accepted his offer, but now all the other bull*hit starts.
  22. Naw, no work for me! That's what the hoot does to you, KEEP YOU UP! Fantastics??? You mean the one on Main by Anchor Liquor. Your across the street in those tracks?
  23. Congrats Josh! Who said the economy was bad. Where exactly is this located. Maybe you don't know, but I live in Carson as well.
