Wow, it will be 4yrs this coming March that I've been on here, where did the time go? I also work on websites and for a very large and known web hosting company. : )
Congrats guys, hope we can still keep the peace in here, most other sites dont have that.

Oh nice. So it sounds like I would be better off asking my dog to fix it then the water or gas company. I dont get why they didn't get my truck towed out of there since it was in the way, I would of rather that happened then it getting damaged.
I know this is going to rust. I think someone walking past smacked a pipe or tool of some type into the bed of my truck, the metal is all roughted up, feels like splinters sticking up, so it's just a matter of time till the rust kicks in.
Not sure if it's worth calling my insurance company or not, just to at least have it on file that this did happen.

Last week there was a water main break in front of my house, I didn't know about it till I got home after 7pm in the pitch black of the night. I was worried because my truck was parked in front of my house and the water and gas company had their trucks and backhoe next to and in back of my truck, so I was a nervous wreck. I even went out a couple times to see if there was a way to pull my truck out of the way, but there was no clear way to do this, so I just let it sit and kept watching things from a bedroom window.
Well anyways, the poor thing is dirty and was covered in mud from the construction people working on the water line in the street. So today I finally got to wash it and when I did, I found two deep scratches that go right into the bare metal.
Here is a pic of the nick into the metal, the pic makes it look like a chip but really it's two scratches
And here is a pic of all the construction (gas and water workers) around my truck:
It's hard to see, but you can see my truck in the bottom left of the image.
My question is, do you think I can get the gas/water company to look at this and get them to pay? I'm pretty sure they didn't hit my truck with any of there trucks, I think it was workers walking around and might of had something in their hands that they were carrying around and it hit my truck. There is no dent, but the scratches go right to the metal and I know this is going to rust.

It's been a month since I washed mine last, haven't driven it in 3 weeks either. Wonder if it will even start. I noticed in the late summer that the original batter is getting weak.
Maybe if it ever stops raining here I can wash it.

Wow, I never heard of this either, learned something new today.
My ZR2 Blazer had what they called ZR2 sag, but mine wasn't anywhere near as bad as other ZR2's I seen on the road.

I think its sort of dumb myself, dont see the point in it.

Funny. the thing is so damn ugly that they have to keep reposting it back on ebay.

Holly crap Kim, I just seen this posting. I'm so sorry to see/hear what happened with you. Good to hear that things are looking better and hope you get the truck back to what it was like before the accident. On a positive note, the dog made out okay.

I'm in love
I love the looks of it. Ever since I first seen it yesterday, I have not been able to get my eyes off of it.

AUTOGUY, I would say $24k-25k would be about it. These are not a collecter item and that is why I started driving mine as my DD.
So you saying our trucks will not be worth anything in years to come? I always thought they would be a collecters item in the future.
-
DON'T SELL IT !!!
But if you are really dead set on selling, then good luck.
If a 03 SSS with 35k miles is worth $24,000, then what would a 03 with 16k be worth? Just curious.

mine went with only 900 miles on it. The past few weeks I've had the clunking come back. Right now it's just a real slight clunk or tapping in the steering wheel every once in a while, I'll do nothing about it till it gets to the point that I cant stand it anymore.
But does leaving this go cause anymore damage to things or open doors for safty issues?

Yuck, mine was "I Swear" by All-4-One
-
Nice. I've always wanted to do something like that but dont have the guts too.
-
Ya, I remember you. Welcome back and I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get another silverado ss here real shortly.

Oh my, I see this topic getting ugly very fast here. First I just want to say that article was excellent that Peter De Lorenzo wrote. Secondly. I do own a Toyota 4Runner and yes I am american. When I got my Toyota 5 months ago, I never thought of it as being an american auto. When I read that in the artical, that was the first time I ever heard such a thing. To me, the big 3 are the american autos, not Toyota.
I traded in my Chevy ZR2 Blazer in for the 4Runner because Chevy does not make a mid size SUV that is nice looking, nor holds it's value like the Toyota does. When I was looking for something new, I wasn't looking specifically for a Jap or american car, I was looking for something that had the best value over all. I wanted something that had style, comfort, dependability, resale value, best MPG and so on and so forth. I looked and test drove a Chevy Trailblazer and I HATED IT!!!! I found them to be nothing but a POS. After test driving many SUV's out there, I found the Toyota to be the best and I ended up getting one. I felt bad going with the Toyota after driving Chevys for 13yrs but got over it after I drove the new car.
Unfortunately I have been called a trader and have had people argue with me how I'm a trader because I went with a Toyota over another Chevy and just think what simple minds they have. Dont think I'm a none american because I went with a Toyota over another GM product or american built.
Oh, I also still think that GM builds the best full sized SUV's and full sized trucks. There isn't one auto maker that can come close to this.

Oh lord, that really is a SS. I first thought it was just some ugly thing that was trying to be made to look like a SS.
-
No IPONE here. Would NEVER get one since it's just part of that stupid IPOD bug people have where they just need to have one.
I also never buy something when it first comes out, there are always problems. It's always best to wailt a while till all the bugs get fixed.
-
Nevermind, broke it anyways... I'll just stick it back on with double sided tape
Sorry to hear that. I'm sitting here at work eating my lunch and when I seen this second post, I almost spit my food out, found it to be real funny, only 11mins apart from each other too. (haha, sorry, but this new fart face is funny as hell).
Thinking About Buying This One, Yea Or Nea!

I like it, a lot. I always liked the way the Arrival Blue looked, just shows the looks off better I think.
Did you notice how nice and clean the seats look, the drivers seat looks like it was never sat in, just like how mine look.
