  1. Never thought about it like that. Does anyone have a jpeg of just the Silverado part in the SS style so I can trace it up in cad? I agree about it being redundant, but you'd be surprised how many people don't know what SS stands for
  2. Thanks Chase. I'll PM the images I have later. But for now, who's in for what?
  3. Fits this thread better at the moment: Good idea man. Only problem is I think this is one of those things where you get what you pay for comes into play. IMO, it what look kinda cheap on a "fancy sports truck". I personally like the smaller details like the beveled edges and inlays. The "pin style" emblems sound like more and more of a good idea the more I think of it too. Unfortunately a laser or water jet can't achieve those things. I'd still like to hear others' opinions on this though and maybe some pics?

  5. Thorough as always Steve If you get a compression test kit at Sears or Harbor Freight, you can use it for the leak down if you remove the schrader valve. Sometimes 50 psi isn't enough to detect a leak. If you remove the rockers, slowly regulate the pressure to about 110 (the motor will turn to bdc on each cylinder you test) and listen for leaks. If it is a lifter, the heads still need to come off and you can also visually inspect the heads.
  6. Let's see some pics I'd be a bit worried of someone taking a nice set of $150 SS emblems off my truck with a Piece of fishing line. Did you design them with pins that go into the door or for adhesive mounting? I know pins require drilling, but they shouldn't ever have to come off.
  7. If the fluid looks and smells good and the filter has been changed, I wouldn't worry about it then. Let us know if it clears itself or the truck starts acting up.
  8. The head will have to be removed to replace the valve. If it's feasible, now would be a good time to think about doing a cam and some head head work.
  9. I'm sure those beat. My solos left me with a rattling roof I was supposed to have 4 ohm subs and they turned out to be 2 ohm. I had to lengthen the wires going to the voice coils and then blew em before I found out. How systems are setup and wired is very important
  10. If I have time, I'd love to go up and help you on the swap. I'll take you up on that date if it's alright with the wifey....you HOMO
  11. Seems Abear went outta business They would take some searching for if really wanted until another company starts making a similar good looking product What kinda budget do you have for these lil goodies Mr. Big Money Baller? Other need to be mentioned goodies: TB upgrade, manifold, pushrods, springs, tc, and hanging scented pine trees to cover the reek of you being in a shit hole
  12. Black is! FTW! Not a fan of the tails, but the truck looks good man
  13. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/41925-408-ls-6-with-direct-port-nitrous/page__st__30 Made by ABEAR Motorsports. Not cheap, but worth it IMO.
  14. Are the subs 2,4, or 8 ohm dvc? Pay attention to the way you wire the subs and amp. Pushing more rms to the subs with more than adequate airspace will cause them to blow. I learned the hard way after going through a set of L7s and wouldn't wanna see you have any problems. Besides, they'll sound better underpowered than overpowered. Should be a kickin system tho man
  15. Tony (Norcal SS) can help you with all your lowering needs and questions. You don't have to replace the keys for a little added drop. Just crank them down. If you do want them, stock keys from a 2500, also known as purple keys to some, will lower you more and are usually cheaper. If you want better ride quality, 3" drop arms are also another option.
  16. It's an improvement for the mess from factory, but I prob woulda saved some and got covers like Kevin (KRAMBO) did in his build. Those with a FAST truck manifold = ( . Y . )
  17. Should be able to be done on a 3 or 5 axis. There seemed to be a lot of interest in people wanting chrome SS badges. It would be nice to have them in a variety of finishes though. And to replace the SuperSport sticker on the tailgate, I designed this click here
  18. Anyone with access to a CNC willing to start producing some SS badges in different finishes and the Super Sport emblems I designed a long time ago? I'm guessing it was either forgotten about or KIKINSS has been really busy
  19. Lookin good man Jon always does good work. I wonder where he pulled that Super Sport font from
  20. I'll live it up for ya brother Enjoy yours the best you can man
  21. They were award winners for sure. Anybody else like bbq'n? We in the south take great pride in our meat
  22. I love those little things and they haul ass I just wish it didn't have the little window on the rear doors. It kills a clean, sporty look.
  23. Has the truck been acting up shifting? They're cheap and easy to replace if you do have a problem. If you're worried about it enough, you can change them, but if the truck is running fine, I wouldn't worry about it. My truck throws the same code from time to time and the only thing wrong is the lockup on the converter
  24. Verrrwy Niiccce! (in Borat voice) I like the last pic better than the one in your sig. That intercooler looks sick.
