  1. I would recommend doing and saying nothing but be there for him if/when it goes bad.. if you say anything now you will be the bad guy.. people sometimes have to learn the hard way and if you show your disapproval i can almost guarantee he'll do what he wants not what you think is right..

sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I'm old enough to have seen it happen many times before... IMHO i don't think guys should get married till they are at least 30, by that time they have done what they wanted to do, seen the world as a single guy, and got all (well most ) of the CRAZY stuff out of their system.. i married when i was almost 31 and have been with my wife for 19 years we dated 2 years and lived together for a year before marrying we'll be celebrating our 17th Wedding Anniversary next year. the best 17 years of my life, but i do believe if i'd have got married at 21 i'd probably be on wife number 3 or 4 by now lol...

you can tell him you think he's crazy but don't try to tell him what to do...

    good luck

  2. yea motorider228 but not everyone has the same attitude as you if they did the banks would be out of business, lol. i would see what i could sell before asking for a loan, theres always something sitting around which you don't need which can be turned into cash.and ebay can be a freat cash generator ... its sad to loose a friend over money which is why i don't borrow or lend anymore, i have been known to offer friends money if i know they need it, but only if i can afford to not be repaid, if they pay it back then its a bonus..

i just hope Brad can work it out with his buddy...

  3. I have to agree with the posters so Far.. never lend or borrow from friends, it almost always causes trouble, OK if its like $20 and you can afford not to ever get paid back then lend away but never lend more than you can really afford to lose, if you do you'll probably lose a friend.

    you have 2 choices either

1.forget about the money (he probably can't afford to pay you back) so tell him not to worry about repayment.. but don't lend him anymore.

2.forget about it, so you've lost money and a friend, but although you say he was more like a brother..would a brother treat you that way? do you need him as a friend?? or more to the point can you afford him as a friend?.

Sorry to be so blunt but at my age I've made and lost lots of acquaintances who appeared to be friends...who have used me for their own means.. true friends ask for nothing apart from friendship....

I hope everything turns out OK for you

  5. i use or should i say my detailer uses Mothers clay bar. i had my old truck clay barred twice a year and i wash/waxed it weekly and carnauba waxed it monthly between visits to evolution ,in the summer and get Kev (my detailer) to do it in the winter :D too cold over here for me lol. he uses mostly Mothers products and the new truck is already booked in for its first clay bar/detail.

    Evolution Valet

in my opinion a detailer giving your truck a clay bar is the best money spent to make your truck really shine and stand out from the crowd..

  8. For you european guy, cant you guys go to a local GM dealer and order a euro spec radio that shoud just hook up, without any problems.  If gm puts any double din radios in european cars.

about the same in the UK sort it yourself or pay one of the specialist importers a arm and a leg to do it for you..but to be honest i'd rather do repairs and servicing myself at least i know its done right then...

  9. Brakes are stock on the SS at the moment but i'm looking into upgrading, they were OK on Floridas nice open highways but as you know UK roads ain't quite as good lol, and of course it rains a lot so a brake upgrade is on my list of first mods when it arrives, i'll let you know what i get unless you fancy a group buy and split the shipping, i've got a couple of guys who can ship for me.. good having buddys stateside..

So any other SS members in the UK??? would be good if we had a Victory red and a Silver one over here we could park up and show the full colour range lol

  10. HI Wingman, I'm in the UK and have a similar problem with frequencies Europe radio stations and all even frequencies and USA are odd, i found in my old silverado i could fine tune the stations in close enough to get reasonable reception, and i believe you can get a frequency adjuster to get stations spot on but i don't honestly know where to look for one, if your radio is satellite try http://www.worldspace.com/index.html i emailed them and for a yearly subscription they say we can pick up the euro sat stations, until i get my SS over I'm not sure what reception i'll get or what route i'll go down sat radio regular radio or new head unit.. on saying that i listen to Cd's most of the time.

    good luck

  11. Hi Ivan Good to see you posting buddy, i lurked for a while till i found my SS which you've probably sussed i bought from a member on here, it's now on its way accross the atlantic and should arrive between Christmas and new year, gonna be a long month waiting, do you attend any of the UK Shows? Billing, Americana etc? or use any UK forums? i co-own rebel-v8.com web site which is the forum with no decorum well thats what classic american magazine said when they gave us a plug in the mag last year, bunch of UK based American car nuts who take the piss out of anyone and everything but all in good fun..

i'm really enjoying silveradoss mind :driving: lots of good info on trucks and mods,

take care buddy and maybe we can meet up i dont think there are many SS owners over here in the UK.

  12. my biggest downfall is having to wait for it to be shipped to the UK, i left it at the shippers on monday and have to wait till the end of this month or early january for it to arrive :tear::tear::tear:

apart from that i can't wait to get driving it...

i've only driven it on a couple of occasions and not added many miles yet but SS's are awesome :driving: do it you wont regret it

  13. Congratulations on your purchase.  You won't regret it.  Except trying to park in London I suppose  :)  But you wouldn't be from London buying an SS (would you?).

I hope you won't convert it to a right hooker.  And that if you do, you get the absolutely highest quality job done you can find.

Is this the first Shopman Bowtie to leave North America?

Enjoy it, though I need not tell you.

Right hooker wash your mouth out with soap lol no way am i going to let anyone touch this truck esp not to convert it lol I've been driving LHD Chevy's in the UK for over 25 years i don't like RHD Cars left hookers as so much better to drive over here IMHO.. but i guess its what you get used to..

Cant wait to get it home... its gonna be a long wait... 1 week on docks USA side clearing customs 15 days on a boat.. then 3-5 days clearing UK customs then i can have it.... then SVA (UK Test) registration (title) fill it with gas and have some fun yeehaw!!!!
