  1. Well for easter I was riding my dirty bicycle and eating a strawberry short cake ice cream bar outside a liquor store, when I saw this dirty ass primer grey truck. So I went up to the truck and asked for some change. Once the windows rolled down two hardcore guys were inside all dressed up with purple du rags and a rainbow medallions. The driver with a lisp told me he'd give me the change that he got from just buying some KY jelly from the store if I gave him my ice cream bar. I agreed as it was starting to melt. As I gave it to him, the ice cream dripped all over his shag carpet and he got really mad and tried to throw the ice cream at me, while his boyfriend I assume got all nervous and tried to clean up the ice cream. He then called me some derogatory names and headed towards walmart to get some stain remover.
  2. No, I'm just a car/truck guy who likes to have lots of things to drive. Granted I have no experiences with Henessey, but from all the consumer reports and bad publicity, I'd take my buisness elsewhere. The trims on the jeep don't line up well at all, the driver door has a metal deformity in it and the interior pieces rattle. The jeep's awd system is worse than the GM system. In the winter time, the awd system makes so much noise and isn't nearly as smooth as the TBSS. The runflats keep loosing tire pressure and have been recalled by chrysler and changed but loose pressure from time to time. The most annoying thing is that, its the only vehicle I've ever owned that does not start in below -20 celsius. Even below -10 it struggles and needs a couple of cranks. I got stranded as the beast wouldn't start. All in all I still really like the srt8, it hauls ass, sounds mean, looks good. I'm contemplating on supercharging it, but since spring is coming new rims on the 550 would probably be the first priority.
  3. The jeep isn't that expensive, I got my srt8 at almost the same price as my TBSS awd both loaded. Actually the MSRP was very close together for the two vehicles, but GM always has more negotiation room. Both are hugely capable of going faster, just the TBSS has a much larger aftermarket support. 70,000 is ridiculous, but what do you expect, its Henessey. I wouldn't even try getting this kit with all the legal problems and bad reputation that that company has. But as much as I know you hate to hear it, comparing the jeep and tbss, the jeeps build quality and reliability are worse than the tbss. But I do love hearing that 6.1 Hemi, it has a nice mean stock exhaust. I think putting a simple supercharger on the srt8 would easily be adequate of getting low 4s 0-60 out of the jeep. That would be my plan.
  4. More pictures and a bbc story: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/surrey/6422215.stm Its pretty easy to write a car off regardless of how much money it costs. Due to the rarity the parts must be extremely expensive and include labor costs, I wouldn't doubt that damage maybe worth as much as the car.
  5. I bet he would It's already his two favorite colors red and black. All he needs now is to put a black front end on it, say maybe from an xlr.
  6. I was only a matter of time until one was wrecked, although it doesn't look too bad I think it's likely a write off. http://www.motorauthority.com/news/superca...i-veyron-smash/
  7. The new tundra is pretty fast it runs on par with the SS to 60 and from what I've read is a bit faster in the quarter. I think with a tune a SS should have the advantage. I still don't like the styling of the truck however, I'll say the motor sure sounds pretty nice.
  8. I know nascar is about tradition and having american cars race one another, but times are changing. As much as we domestic car fans hate to admit it, the import market share in automobile sales is getting larger and larger. Hence more Americans are buying these cars and they are part of the American car culture now and can be represented in racing events. Japan builds almost all of their North American product in America because they dont' sell those vehicles any where else. The Tundra/sequoia, camry etc. are all built for the north American market so it would make no sense producing it in Japan or Asia. Even though Japan/Europe/Asia recieves the corolla, they have much different options and recieve a much smaller engine and with different safety standards and are built elsewhere such as China. It's much more cost effective for them to build these "big" Toyotas/Nissans etc in America than Japan. Mercedes does the same thing by shipping their ML production to the US where the majority of its sales are. GM/Ford/Chrysler aren't are already in huge financial trouble, they cannot afford to keep their factories in America. The autoworker unions take a huge chunk out of the production cost and if GM/Ford are to get back into the market they have to cut cost. Racing events can't be exculsive anymore as the market is split up much more than it use to be and the American product doesn't hold the share it used to.
  9. Mine is completely salt colour right now, from a distance the whole truck looks silver birch The trucks got so much dirt on it the blue barely shows. I would wash it, but its too damn cold.
  10. The 2nd gen Escalade (2002) got the LQ9 first, followed by the silverado SS (03). The escalade had the LQ9 from 2002-2006, the denali got in from 2005-2006.
  11. Damn, thats terrible mando, I hope they catch those fu*ks. Its a bad feedling to get. I hope your truck is found before those fu*ks do anything to it.
  12. All 03 vettes had the anniversery badging, hence all were 50th anniversery cars. But the special edition anniversery cars had the 1 year produced maroon paint. I have a 03 ZO6, not maroon and it has the 50th anniversery badging, same with every other vette that was in the lot in 03. Just like the 02 camaros, the red with white stripes was the special edition anniversery model, but all the cars got the 35th anniversery emblem.
  13. Maybe eventually, but not really at the moment. I'd get rid of other things first.
  14. Definately, that hood is ugly. If it came with that hood the first thing I would get an aftermarket one right away. How about for a 84 fleetwood?
  15. I persoanlly would not trade the Escalade. They both have the same drivetrain, the escalade is a smoother, more luxurious. If I was to chose one or the other for a daily driver it would likely be the escalade. The SS is a nice truck, but at 17 you probably want more seats as fitting 5 in the SS is not nearly as comfortable. Providing that your escalade is in decent condition with no major problems I would keep it, if you want more speed just do some mods.
  16. Damn that's exactly what I want my truck to sound like.
  17. Very nice truck, I will be trading up for one of those soon
  18. According to this article GM finally has confirmed the blue devil project. I'm happy to see GM stepping up to produce cars that will help get rid of the anti-GM bias that I see. If the blue devil is a go, then I'm definately going to get one. Article
  19. It's really hit and miss, Cadillac for the most part is very reliable, the CTS-V does have a weak rear end, but that guys car was a definate lemon. I know quite a few guys that have them and have 60,000km on them with no problem. If I buy a CTS-V I'd wait for one to come out with the new body style, it looks great.
  20. Nice, I like that car. But i prefer the traditional bentleys such as the azure and the arnage.
  21. I like it, the new chevy design has slowly grown on me. I like the front end. Chevy should have extended the center bar on the grill to split up the headlight just like the previous generation silverado.
  22. I thought that was just someones interpretation of it, and that there is no plans to reserect the firebird and I'm not sure but I heard the GTO may be scrapped. My favorite trans am was the 70-73 cars, just beautiful.
  23. Very cool. I'd say do it tastefully. Give it a nice two tone point, rechromed, some nice 18s, (in my opinion big rims don't look right on those old cars). Change up the stance and put it a nice interior and you got a show stopper.
  24. I'm not a guy for putting decals or extra emblems on, I like just the standard SS symbols.
  25. Doesn't look bad, I wonder how it would look with the outer lip polished.
