  1. That's exactly the set-up I have and I couldn't agree more!
  2. Mine shifts relitively hard and I race it all the time and I've never had a problem (knock on wood). Might just be luck, I had a great trans guy do my work so maybe thats it.
  3. Do I need to or should I when I change my battery? Thanks!
  4. Late notice I know, but tomorrow there is a charity race and show at CA speedway called truckin' for kids. It's a rather cool event and it would be cool to see some support. I'll be there racing if you should decide to come out.
  5. The bakersfield track is pretty cool. Lots of oxygen because of all the farms around. You'd like it!
  6. Whatever...Thanks for all the input. I'd like to get close to what I paid for it so the price stands. I could just return it but I figured I'd try to help someone out. I'd trust SLP over autozone IMO.
  7. Howdy all...I bought this for my SSS only to find out that when I got a new water pump, my dealer swaped in an 04 which uses a different t-stat. It's brand new never used. $50.00 shipped.
  8. Yeah, I know that announcer very well. He works at Rotolo Chevrolet and he about wets his pants everytime I run 14-something! He was lead to believe that our trucks are slugs so he's impressed by anything under 15 seconds coming from us. A 12.9 is pretty damn impressive for any car, let alone 5500 (or so) pound truck! Great job again Chase and company! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mike English is a character and a good anouncer. I think it was Bruce that made the comment though. Was Scott there on Sunday or at Irwindale? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He was at Irwindale trying to make their team. There's so many cars in pro at Fontana that he's afraid he won't make that team. I'm leading the points in Sportsman at Fontana so I was just at Irwindale for a back-up. I thought about joining you guys but I'd rather race than test. See you this weekend?

  10. it's only every 2 years anyhow...if need be you can slap set of cats back on it and call it good! ~Brian <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually it's five years from the date of purchase if 2003 or newer I think.
  11. Thanks for all of your concerns and input. I'm not worried about any of it though because I only really drive it to and from the track and by the time it needs a smog, it'll be a trailer queen used strictly for bracket racing. That why I chose to do it now. And, if it all doesn't go to plan, I know plenty of people that will "take care of" a smog check for me.
  12. I recently gutted my cats and had my pcm retuned by Bryan. I picked up 2 tenths in the 1/8 mile and gained 1 mph. It may not sound like a lot, but it was cheap and easy to do. This gain was also in very hot and humid conditions so I'm sure it's got more in her.
  13. Great times guys! My dad works in the tower and told me all about via cell phone. I wish I could've been there...I wasted my money at a points race at Irwindale instead (lost in the first round by .008 of a second, oh well). You guys should come give bracket racing a try next weekend at Fontana for their Summit Series. See you around sometime and great job with the trucks.
  14. If I get my T-Stat in, I may make an appearance on Saturday. I not a big fan of these Street Legal debacles but I want to see if my new PCM and gutted cats were worth the hassle!
  15. No biggie...Do you happen to remember if they were the round compression type or regular paper/aluminum type? I'm thinking about machining my own aluminum ones because even the dealer can't seem to find them. Thanks.
  16. They're a bit big for that style ImO. If you were going for the true old school lowered full-size look, you should have thrown some 15's or 16's on there! Now that would look bitchin! Enjoy your choice man! As the great Dylan said, If you like 'em, that's all that matters.
  17. Do you happen to know the part # on those gaskets? Thanks.
  18. Anybody have one or know where to find one? I did a lot of searching and came up empty. Thanks!
  19. On the stock hard lines from the trans to the cooler? Mister P, I need your help!!!!
  20. Any ideas on how I should mate my stock lines with my cooler? I have a great race car plumbing shop nearby where I can get custom braided lines made. The cooler has male -6AN fittings. My question is would it be okay just to cut the flare off of the stock hard line and double clamp the new braided unit or should I re-flare them with some fittings? TIA
  21. Thanks! How do I connect a hose to a fitting like that for my new trans cooler? The cooler has male threaded -6AN fittings.
  22. If that is the one you ordered they tend to be a little flimsy to me. Perma-cool makes much better coolers than the one displayed in that link. I used a similar version as that one a few trucks ago. But to answer your question, for the most part if it will fit in there it will work. It comes down to how you want to mount and connect that might change your definition of "will it work". <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks Ben! I think I'll give it a try. I only use mt ruck for drag racing and to get to and from the track so I'm sure this one will serve my purpose.
