  1. mines the same way but if i don't need em on i just cut em off, but there's no way to adjust them @ all <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I do that too ... but I keep my interior lights/dash lights low ... so it just annoys me having to constantly adjust the dash lighting for day then night then day .. etc ... Just want a permenent fix <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Disconnect it! Just cut the wires to it and tape up the cut wires.
  2. I used Borla racing muffs for quite some time. They were okay...a bit to raspy IMO. The truck did perform well though.
  3. My resolutions are to win another drag racing championship, finish my teaching credential, get a teaching job, buy a condo, and get to church more.
  4. I don't take the Camaro to the track very often, it is a street cruiser that gets close to 20 mpg on the freeway. It only runs 11's, so don't expect much. If I run Summit Series next year I might run the Camaro, decisions - decisions. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> so many cars. so little time
  5. Has anyone heard if Dylan and his wife had their baby yet?
  6. I don't think I've ever seen that POS Mike! Hope to see ya there.
  7. I got tools and stuff for my motorhome, a great luggage set, some gift cards, some catholic stuff (rosary and books) because I'm currently converting, a bbq for my motorhome, a practice drag racing christmas tree, and...oh yeah, my fiancee surprised me with a catholic school girl out fit on Christmas Eve!!! It was a great Christmas!
  8. Everybody's busy with xmas. I'm sure they'll start coming out of the woodwork in the next couple of weeks.
  9. I loved the fact that it's a high performance TRUCK rather than a sports car in a truck body. Unlike the lightning and srt-10, the SS has great towing capacity as well as great drivability and comfort. Before the srt-10 quad cab, the SS was the only high performance truck with an extra cab ever. The other great thing is that the ls1 based engine has nearly unlimited modification possibilities.
  10. cool you going to the summit series the followign week? if i dont break anything i will probably be there too. it will be nice to finally meet you!! blackpearl where you at??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Silly question buddy! Of course I'll be at the Summit Series...I gotta defend my title! You gonna try bracket racing finally? You'll have to run in pro class because of your quick et but that's ok. I'd be happy to help you learn. See ya there.
  11. Is everyone sitting down...? I'll BE THERE!!! I'll be making some passes to get ready for the 2007 season and my girl will be getting her feet wet behind the wheel. With my new stall and tuning, I'm hoping for 13.99, weather permitting. I'll look out for you guys. I'll be towing my SS behind a motorhome. See ya there!

    I did it finally

lol i know how ya feel , i was pissed and ready to leave and said wtf run wsith the 22's and look what happened. now i need to figure out this POS belt problem. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Chase, I saw in National Dragster that Comp Cams makes a new and improved billet belt tensioner for late model ls1's. You may want to look into that. I don't know if that would help but it looks cool anyway! As for tires, ever thought of trying the Mickey Thompson sportsman series or BF Goodrich drag radials? I here they both work pretty well.

i agree with you , every time i do burnout now i break or at least throw my belt. the thing that sucks is california speedway is hard to drive around the waterbox because the runoff water goes past the left lane just before the burnout box and often the right cant be driven around, i try though, and one i ran with drag radials i didnt break traction at all and cut the 1.60 60 ft. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> trust me, I feel your pain with that track! I try to go around too and any spin to me could be the difference between a round win or loss. The crappy part for me is that if I have to go through the water, I hardly make enogh power to dry them off!!!

Great Job Chase!!! When you gonna start bracket racing that thing??? I think you should always try to around the water rather than trying to do a burnout in AWD truck. You're just asking for breakage and you're probably leaving the tires wet at the line which is contributing to your traction problems. Drag radials don't really need a burnout contrary to popular belief. In fact, in most cases they work better without one. Just my two cents, great job none the less.
  15. Did you ET get better or just the 60' ?? What times/mph did you run ?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My best there was 14.427 at 90.68 mph. Corrected Density altitude was between 2500 and 3500 feet. I never ran slower than 14.53 all weekend. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, that's an improvement. BTW, your old (ours I guess) converter went to a good home...j4nash owns it now.

  17. Yes, I know I can do better! I'm going to do some tuning and remember, those times were from Vegas where everything is about a tenth to a tenth and a half slow. I'll keep you posted.
  18. Raced in Vegas this past weekend and strung together several 1.99 and 1.98 60' times with my new 3200 stall. That's outstanding considering the high elivation at that track as well as my previous best there being in the 2.10-2.15 range.
  19. Thanks everyone! I weighed mine once with me in it but I'm a fat a$$ plus I've taken some weight off me and the truck since then! I'm wondering for towing purposes. Thanks again for all the help!
  20. Anyone know the dry weight of a 2003 SS? Thanks!
  21. Congrats to Mike for his 1st PSCA Open Comp Championship (in his Vega, not the VHO)! This an extremely tough and competitive class and it is really a great accomplishment. Way to go Mike!
  22. K&N HP1007 and Lucas Synthetic Racing Oil, 5w-20
  23. I'm at work now so I don't have a PN...sorry! There isn't much difference between a 60 and a 65. I used it in my 03 SSS with a 65e so it'll be fine in any 2003-2005 GM truck for sure, maybe more.
  24. I've got my new stall in so my old TC is available if anyone is interested. I bought this TC from SuperSport about 2 years ago and used it mostly for racing. It does have some miles on it and is used but I had absolutely zero trouble with it and it worked oustanding for me for the entire time I had it. I only replaced because I wanted a higher stall. $125 Shipped...
