  1. Do you have any pics? My best friend is heavy into them. Between him and his dad, they have 8. They are also active in all the model t clubs. They can give you an honest opinion on what it's worth in todays market, and maybe even put you in contact with someone who wouldbe interested in it.
  2. Nitro is only advised if you know what you're doing. It is highly combustible. Just drop a very small amount on the ground and hit it with a hammer and watch what happens (just make sure you have safety glasses on) As far as AV gas goes, you'd have to check and compare the spec gravity to street pump gas before trying to run it
  3. Ran the car again today. Decided to start out running the 10.60 class instead of the 9.60 so Ican make the motor last as long as possible. We ended up having to set the throttle to only 50%, short shift it at 5000 RPM, and still let it ride the rev chip through the lights to slow it down enough to finally run a 10.621. We had a blast and I can't wait to run it again
  4. It's just a mid 461 ci BBC I threw together at work. It's just a starter motor to get the car dialed in. I'm running just a stock 2 bolt main 454 block, heads are stock cast iron GM 049 casting oval ports with manley valves (stock sizes), crank is just a GM cast crank ground 10/20, it has stock GM dimple rods with ARP 7/16" wave loc bolts, Arias 12.5:1 pistons, comp .652/.652 solid roller cam, intake manifold is a street dual plane, carb is a 850 demon. The next motor is going to be a 565 ci, with a dart block, a pair of CNC'd CFE heads, sheet metal intake, crower crank, etc.
  5. Well I've had over 350 passes with 3.73's and another 250 with 4.10's, and my truck picked up .3 and 5 mph with the 4.10's. I you might gain another .1 or .2 and another 2-4 mph over me since you're going from 3.42's
  6. Thanks guys! As far as the track not being busy, the video was taken on an open test day, and there were only 30 cars/bikes. Some of the photo's were taken when I was out there in the middle of the week. I know the track owner, so I can get the track to myself sometimes
  7. I've been testing my car these last few weeks while working all the bugs out. It's been a 7 year project that I finally just finished within the last few weeks. I've had a few 60' and 330' runs, but have only had 1 full run so far, but I'm pretty happy with the results. I've attached some photos and a quick video of the run, it went 10.040 at 128.684. As we're still in testing mode, and I was trying to play it safe, I short shifted it at 6k RPM (Motor makes peak HP at 6600), and I had the REV Chip set to 6200RPM. The car flat lined the last 250' as it was bouncing off the chip. Going to bump up the shift point and raise the rev limiter this coming Saturday and try again. Motor is just a mild NA 454. Hoping for a solid 9.60 run And I'd like to throw another quick shout out to "Top Gun" on this board, He did the amazing cyber grey paint/body work, and even hand painted the faux front end (yep, the grill/trim is all just paint). ***Edit, sorry, for some reason it doesn't look like the video is loading right. You might have to click on the IMG and watch through my photobucket account. Sorry ***
  8. Thanks everyone! As far as the motor in the car goes, it's just a little 468 BBC I threw together. Nothing real fancy, it's just something to get the car dialed in and sorted out. I still work at a race shop building motors, so I've already got a 540 in the works. As soon as I get the car tested in 2 weeks, I'll be going back to work on finishing my truck up. Here's a semi recent picture of it...
  9. Well I've been gone from the forum for a few years, been busy with finishing school, family, work, buying a house, building some cars, etc. I'm finally caught up and figured I'd come back to see how things are going here. I still have my truck, but sold the blower off of it after burning up the 4L85e tranny I had swapped. The motor is basically stock now. So while I haven't really done too much on the truck, I have been busy with my other car. My Chevelle is almost done (finally), and I should start testing in 2 weeks. A member on this board "Top Gun", did an amazing Cyber Grey paint job on it for me, and he also hand painted the entire grill. Yes that is just paint, not a real grill at all. I'm glad to be back and look forward to sticking around more often now. Here's some pics of the Chevelle
  10. Sorry for taking to so long to get back on here everyone. I had a few personal issues come up and didn't have time to finish pulling everything out. Plus it's been raining and I've been working on it outside. However, we finally had a clear day on Sunday and I got everything finished up and the new tranny installed. Here are the pictures from my cell phone taken as things were pulled out. I've cleaned everything up and have boxes to ship the stuff. PM's have been replied to. Thanks for being patient. wiring harness, uncut and still has the pins for taping into the pcm flexplate with spacer installed. Bolts aren't pictured but are included. crossmember
  11. Pictures will be posted tomorrow. I didn't get a chance to take any today.
  12. Was tired of burning up transmissions so I parked the truck a little over a year ago. Been working on my 69' chevelle in the mean time. The Chevelle is just about finished so I decided to get the truck going again. Thanks for the welcome back
  13. My 4L85e did this exact same thing. 1 Week later, the tranny died. Only difference with mine is that the fluid was burnt. All of the other symptoms were exactly the same.
  14. Well my truck has been sitting for a little over a year as I was pissed off at it and tired of messing with it after burning up the 4l85e. I pulled the radix and all the associated performance parts off and sold them to "Top Gun" a member of this board. Around 2 weeks ago I got tired of looking at the truck and finally decided to get the truck going again. I've already installed a stock intake manifold and got the truck running again. Going to finish the removal of the junk 4L85e tranny tomorrow, so I figured I'd see if anyone would be interested in the conversion parts. They only have 11k miles on them and are in excellent condition. Let me know if you would be interested in anything listed and I can get you pictures if needed. Most of the older members of this board know who I am and I've bought/sold alot of stuff on here in the past and have never had a bad dealing. Modified 4L60e crossmember. Bolts into the stock location and accepts the 4L80e/4L85e transmissions. Made so you can still drop the tranny pan without moving the crossmember. Similar setups sell for $330 plus tax and freight. I'd like to get $200 shipped Lokar Flexible dipstick for the 4L80e/4L85e transmissions. New they sell for around $90 plus tax and freight. I'd take $50 shipped. GM Flexplate Part Number 12551367. GM list price is right around $160 plus tax. I'd sell it for $75 shipped GM Crank spacer Part Number 12563532. GM list price is right around $52. I'd sell it for $25 shipped GM Bolts (6) specifically for the flexplate and spacer. GM list price is around $3 each. I'll throw those in if you buy the flexplate and spacer. Driveshaft with all 1350 u-joints. I had this custom built out of all new material. Built to handle the power of a blower and the weight of our trucks. They told me that I wouldn't be able to break it. Correct length for a rcsb 2wd truck. Comes with the complete driveshaft and u-joints. The slip yoke for the transmission, and the 1350 series pinion yoke for the rear end. Will only work on 4L80e/4L85e conversions. $225 plus shipping. Speartech 4L60e to 4L80e/4L85e conversion harness. I can't remember what I paid for this, but I want to say that it was right around $200. I'll sell it for $125 shipped. Remember all of this stuff only has 11k miles on it. I burnt the clutch pacs out of the transmission so no damage was done to any of these parts. Everything but the drivershaft will work in any configuration 1/2 ton truck from 02-07. If interested in a package deal, shoot me an offer.
  15. That how I would describe them. I had them on my truck for a year and I loved them. The only reason I got rid of them was because I switched to some QA1's.
  16. That's bad, but I've seen a few worse. I've seen a block that was completly split in two
  17. I'd have to say that In-N-Out is the best burger around here. The only problem I have is that some times the burgers have a slight onion taste on them from the grill and I hate onions. Other than that, their great especially with extra cheese. As far as the sonic is concerned, I don't particularly care for their burgers. I do think they have a great drink and dessert selection though. In my town they have built one so far and two more are under construction. All of which will be roughly within a 5 mile radius
  18. I still need a few interior parts off the truck. He's only 40 minutes away from me so when I head out there again in a few weeks, I'll shoot you a PM and get a list of what you need.
  19. The long silver horizontal part is just something sitting in the background. The brackets can easily be made. Mock all the cladding on the truck and just build some custom brackets accordingly. They don't have to look just like the GM ones, they just need to be able to hold the cladding in place. You will never see the brackets unless you go under the truck. I was the one that pulled the cladding off of Posi12Bolt's truck. If you have any questions about it let me know.
  20. I think I read that the GM LS2 wires have the 90* boot on the one end but I haven't seen a set in person to confirm.
  21. Zippy is the man. He just squared away my new tune for the 4L85e tranny. I've always used him and have never had any problems.
  22. If you support the tranny with a jack and unbolt the crossmember, you can slowly let the jack down and the whole motor and tranny will tilt back at an angle making it VERY easy to get to the top bolt. ;)
