  1. That`s what I been telling everyone The xk01 isn`t a perfect interface, I wish you could turn off the heated seat output because it`s not consistent. You can edit features on the ads modules if you have a usb programmer, which I do. The Fortan modules are alright too, cheaper and I`ve been using them forever, they are pretty reliable. But the window rollup is worth it on the xk01, so thats why I use it. It requires a double pulse lock signal to activate the windows, my compustar doesn`t have that option, so I just hooked up an aux output and if I want the windows up, I just hit aux right after I arm the system and it rolls them up. But from my phone app, I can`t roll the windows up, there``s too much of delay. So I just have to put in a tr-7, and that`ll give me a double pulse on that line. Another mod i`m going to do is to hook up perimeter lights... The xk01 turns the lights on which is cool, but they don`t work when the trucks running, So I`m going to take the compustar, there is a domelight output for when you unlock, and hook up the puddle lights, backup, and dlr so they work when the trucks running.
  2. You might have to pull the seat and use a drill battery to get the motor to move. Note: you`ll need a E14 and E20 socket to get the seat out. Power seat.pdf
  3. Nope, not really. But you can do an aftermarket kit for the locks and windows anyways, they work alright.
  4. Nope, you just need the right parts. Like a Access GMOS-04 Bose adapter and a steering wheel interface, which one has to be determined on what type of headunit. And an antenna adapter(40-gm10) you can even use you factory xm antenna. Also a little bit of cutting for a double din deck, but it`s really easy. I forgot, there is xm pieces available though http://store.xmfanstore.com/xmdirect.html http://www.siriuscanada.ca/library/misc/SIRGM1C_Installation_Guide.pdf.pdf
  5. No problem. Maybe I can even find the reciept and give you a part num. I KNOW! I broke mine back in like 2007, I went like 4 years before I bought a new one. I ordered my buddy one for his caddy since I was there. why not. he was happy when I brought him a new one,
  6. Alternator whine is a Car Audio Installers biggest nemesis. I HATE engine whine. But i`m good and I know how to avoid it. ...Most of the time
  7. Oh ya, lots better than that DEI pos. I use xk01, it has a window roll-up feature which is cool. Does heated seats, window/mirror defrost, door pin out, etc.
  8. If you can`t find a loose wire, then we can look at different options for re-grounding the deck, sometimes that helps. I`m also assuming your amp is for sub and not front end speakers.
  9. yep, it`ll ground through the antenna and other things, but give you a ground loop noise...like you have
  10. My guess is you pulled out a ground wire out of your periperal piece when you had your deck out. It`s an interface problem for sure. If you can`t find a loose wire, then you might need a new one.
  11. +1, I`d bet the farm you have a ground problem.
  12. Mine was broken for years, I figured a new one from gm would be really pricy so I didn`t get one. I was at the dealer picking up fluid a couple months ago, so I asked how much for the `bezel`. It was 12 bucks!
  13. Which interface(bypass) did you use for the deck install?
  14. Take a look at this diagram. g203 is behind cluster below drivers a-pillar. Its ground for the radio, ddm, cluster, common with stuff that`s not working. http://content.chiltonsonline.com/content/images/WD/GM/014/WD_GM_014557.pdf
  15. Which interface?Any other info, amps ?, anything else not factory?
  16. Same problem, no lock, windows, gauges, radio, etc.?
  17. It`s the the switch panel on the door panel where all the plugs plug in. Like the bcm, it has to be programmed by the dealer, so I`m not 100% sure if it will communicate with the bcm if it`s not programmed, but it can`t hurt to plug it in and try it. I think programming is just for certain options.
  18. Driver door module. You said windows and locks aren`t working. The pdm also controls the keyless.
  19. Are you ready for the bad news? These trucks are class II data bus. The bcm controls the power options and communicates with the modules in the doors through a data bus signal. The power doors you installed have door modules in them(ddm, pdm). All three modules need to talk t each other. I`m not sure but I don`t believe the wiring for the bcm is in the non-optioned truck. You might need not only the bcm from the loaded truck but all the underdash wiring as well. Please don`t yell(caps).
  20. The orange wires on the plug should have power. Did you check to see if you have the 30 amp radio amp fuse under the hood? A better pic of the other plug might help and some clues. How long is it? Is it tied up to any other harnesses? What are the wiring colors?
  21. Theres no input on the radio but you can buy an interface to adapt one. I bought one on eBay for an auxiliary in for about $60 Aai-gm24
  22. I just took my cover off of the power distribution block under the drivers dash. That big black plug runs behind the instrument cluster and then plugs in to the lower right side of the distro block. It gets power then from the 30amp radio amp fuse under the hood.
