  1. Hey guys, Now that i did the cam and heads my PI 10.5 converter is still tight, at like 22-2400. So i need to get it re stalled, but instead i'm thinking of the PI 9.5" converter stalled at a lose 3000-3200. FLT said the 9.5 converters don't last due to our weight, but PI said they would recommend the 9.5 converter. So does any one have a 9.5 PI and how do you like it. Any problems, and how many miles do you have on it? Did you get any ET gains from it? Also wondering if anyone is running smaller tires on their SS and what kind of ET gain you got from it. I'm tossing up running the smaller tires to get a better ratio for racing. I did a search on gears and seems like only 1 or 2 people have changed gears, and at least i can swap out the tires for racing and regular driving. I also have 2 PCM's that i can use for my current tires and have a corrected pcm for the smaller diameter. And does anyone know if the 17" steel chrome rims are lighter then the 17" AL ones? Thanks for any help!! Brad
  2. waiting, and waiting, and waiting for spring
  3. son!, guess i should've done headers. I could get a whole asm set up, bolt right on for like 700 used, but i kind of like the supermax. Looks like they both get great et gains. I've got my TEA heads and cam breathing through stock manifolds and cats right now, so i would think the headers might even show a better et drop for me. I think restalling my PI converter is next though. Thanks much guys! Brad edit: Krambo, just looked closer at your sig. Do you have the 9.5" vig or the 10.5"? I have the 10.5 and the thing is tight as hell, stalls at like 22-2400, so i'm thinking of pulling it and getting the 9.5", but chuck (flt) doesn't recommend them for the weight of our trucks. Here is quote from the PI guy I'm working with "We don't have a max vehicle weight per say on making a converter selection, we look at the whole picture. Of course getting into the 5k to 5500k range is pushing it."
  4. any one have any et gains after they did headers... Brad
  5. Face to face they can hook up to your truck and program everything exactly to your truck, not just a general program that will work on all trucks. It's "custom" tuned for your truck and your driving style. Not say that a mail order tune is bad, just not as full as it could be in person. Another thing to ask is how much, if anything, they charge for a retune should you get more mods or change your mind about something. Brad
  6. get a hold of Frank on here, revolution. He can set you up with a great tune and answer all of you questions fully. You can tell him your plans and he can make a tune just for your truck. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.php?showuser=6980 Brad
  7. i never got a chance to run him, the weather went to crap real fast up up here. and now i have the tea heads and the cam installed on my truck so i'm not worried... Brad
  8. any updates? did it work Brad
  9. your not going to start giving everyone this cam are you?????? LOL truck runs great, no drive ability problems and pulls real hard. Can't wait to get her to the track! Frank, thanks for all the hard work and long hours coming up with this cam! Brad
  10. you know...... it's not the not knowing part....it's the assuming everyone is going to help you part. next time try to ask for help not tell us to help you. like i said before try telling guys about the truck and your purpose with it so guys can help you better.....and saying hi doesn't hurt. Brad
  11. sorry Frank......Blue is the fastest color wait a minute...i shouldn't say that until you give me my truck back...... good luck tuning the BBK TB
  12.  Zippy is fine tuning my truck today, so i hope some "go fast" rubs off on it
  13. I don't get it... i thought it was funny as hell.... picture a guy standing on the edge of cliff looking out into the distance over the canyon.......with a vision of a "zippy" in is head. He's buddy elbows him in the side and softly whispers....what the hell are you looking at? Brad
  14. wow, how about saying hi to the guy, or even saying a little about your truck to...... PM zippy or Frank (they work pretty close together) Frank= http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.php?showuser=6980 Zippy= http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.php?showuser=735
  15. there is a new post that revolution just made about the VIS carbon hoods. he might be able to get us a price break Brad
  16. Wait for spring, so we can all meet at route 66 again. We had a good time last year and maybe more guys will show up this year if we can plan well in advance. Zippy and frank were there last year, maybe they can make it again....but it's kinda a far drive for zippy and frank is going to vegas...so we can kindly beg them when the time comes. Brad
  17. Hey Mr. P., Me again I understand the point of the CAI, but when i got my volant i took the truck down to the track and got no ET drop from it at all. When i added the ram air pipe, my MPG went down, my ET stayed the same, but my MPH went down at the 1/4(maybe more drag with air going in to the pipe). Just wondering what you've seen with the intakes? With the SS pipes as good as they are, twin pipes all the back in to the muffler, fake dual in dual out muffler, twin pipes out of the muffler and a large OD tail pipe....does a cat back do anything for the truck. I just spliced a true dual in dual out magnflow into the stock location and called it a day thinking there is no way i could improve the flow of the stock pipes(excluding cats and headers). Whatcha think? Thanks Brad
  18. Frank, i think, is the closest for a face to face tune. Otherwise, email Frank, Zippy, or pcmforless for a mail order tune. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.php?showuser=6980 Frank http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.php?showuser=735 Zippy Brad
  19. I had zippy do tunes on my truck as well answering every question under the sun...and he is top of the line all the way. Frank is working with me now on doing my head and cam swap and has gone WAY out of his way to help me pick out the best components for my truck, my budget and my driving style. Credit where credit is do, the guys can't be beat. Brad
  20. looks and weight, for me the weight savings is the best but it does look good. imo the stocok ss bumper looks awesome too. i just like the look of clean smoothed looks. thats why i also shave my tailgate handle. how much weight is saved with the roll pan? Brad I think it around 200 with the spare and bumper gone... ok stupid question....is there a rollpan that lets you keep the spare tire and still use a hidden hitch? Brad

  22. Thats quick you might lose with a sub 6 0-60. However you WILL get the jump on him. So for that. I ran my friends S4 and took him for a bit (he made a ton of excuses ) just keep it fun with jokes rollin and safe. 350's run low and sti's run low 13...i think 13.2 or something like that I've taken out a 350 z up to 55mph from a light and i pulled a srt-4 on the highway starting at 75 till about 100, so at least i have a fighting chance with this guy...too bad i can't get it on tape! Brad
  23. 5.9 0-60....this is going to be close. They must have run the car on a real hot day with a hot intake, 14.8 sounds a little slow for that kind of HP. I thought the 350z ran low to mid 14's and the STI with 300hp is running 13's Oh well, if i lose, i lose. At least it should be real close. I'll try to get him next week.
  24. Hey guys, So i got myself into this one at work. I saw a new mazda 6 speed in the parking lot at work and i started to ask questions about who owned it and saying i'd like to run the guy. Turns out someone told him and he is all for a race. I haven't talked the guy personally yet, i just talked to the guy who talked to him. i don't know much about the cars, i know they're AWD, 6 speed and turbo. I heard 275 HP, which is enough HP to worry me! My truck ran a best of 14.340 but runs 14.4 pretty much all the time. What do you guys think should i run him ....or did i talk myself into a corner. Brad
  25. where is bryan out of i did think he was that close. zippy is also close to you in MI and Frank from Revolution race works is in IL. I'm going down by Frank in a week or 2 to get my heads cam installed and then he'll re-tune my truck. Brad
