Ok guys I will be leaving to go to the mountains on Tuesday. If everyone will, go back and read all the things I have posted so we get on the same page. We dont necessarily have to tour the plant on Friday unless enough people are interested. I would like to make the main get together on Saturday at the museum. Please remember if we want the badges they are going to make us with the SilveradoSS.com logo on them are $8.00 and that gives us access to the museum the whole weekend. I need to know if you want your names on them or you forum name. I need to know all this by Oct. 16 so they can get them done for us. If enough are interested in touring the plant on Friday I need to know the numbers also by the 16th, this also would be $8.00 a piece. Once I get the exact amount of who is coming I will talk to Beech Bend about the strip as to whether we want it Sat or Sun. If you have anymore ?'s let me know as far as hotels and things there are plenty around. If you need #'s or directions let me know. Like I said I will be in the mountains next week so I wont have my pc but if you have any ?'s my cell # is (270)847-9590. Serious questions only please. If I dont answer leave me a message. I can probably make it Saturday maybe even stay for Sunday. Any idea what day we would hit the track? Is is going to cost $15 per run?
Actually he told me we could do it that way or we can lease it for 4 hrs. and have the ambulance and tower guy for $2500.00. That is up to everyone else though if we get enough interest. Now I have to really know for sure before I go ahead with everything. Also I leave next Tuesday to go to the mountains in Gatlinburg so I will not have a pc for that week. But if anyone has ?'s I will leave my cell # before I go. Thanks everyone for showing the interest it makes me feel a bit better I was gettting worried.

AAAHHH Heck, He gave me a heads up guys on saturday or sunday. He suggested that we have like our own races which would cost the driver $15.00 and any spectators we have $10.00. He said they would set it up to have a trophy for a winner and runner up. Let me know guys.Just talked to Beech Bend Raceway and I am waiting on a call back from the owner any minute. Wish me luck! -

The exact dates are Nov,3,4,5 That is the what we have but you dont have to be there all 3 days. Saturday is the main day to meet at the museum for the actual gathering. I just put Friday in if whoever wants to tour the actual assembly plant. Sunday I was planning a drive to the Barren River Lake Dam, its like a scenic drive in Ky. I have to know 2 wks in advance if you are coming they are making badges for us and I need a definate yes by at least Oct 16, so I can get everything together for them cause I have to work. Also is there any interest in buying a commemorative brick with "SilveradoSS.com" on there walkway its like about $1 or$200.00 dollars. I am hopefully going to try to contact Beech Bend Raceway tomorrow to see what our chances are there wish me luck. anymore questions you can email me at [email protected] Thanks Jim

No I have been reluctant to see about really till I seen if I would get enough interest in coming in. If you help me drum up several more members I will try and see what I can do.

ok here is the plan we are set for Nov, 3-5. Friday we will meet at the corvette museum, forom there we will go over to the plant to tour on that day then do whatever. Saturday we will gather at the museum and maybe tour it and set in the lot and have a gathering. Sunday I have plannned a tour drive to go to the Barren River Lake Dam. The museum calls it the Dam Tour. All I need to know now is hkow many are coming. They are going to print us badges the has the logo at the top of our main page with all the trucks in a row. They are also going to put on the back our itenarary? on the back. Also I need to know if you want your real name on them or your forum name I have to know all of this at least 2 weeks in advance to get them done I also need to know if anyone comes with you so they can get one to. We have to pay $8 a piece for them but I will try to pay that and you can reimburse when you get here. Another thing I would like to do is they have bricks layed going to the door with name and clubs. We could have one made its will be around $200.00 I think but I need to know who is interested because I would like to order it so it could be unveiled while we are there. They said if we get enough to come maybe later it could be a museum sponsored event in the future. Please let me know for real who wants to come this isnt just for Kentucky it is for anyone who wants to come. Wish us luck.

Thats what I had in mind a mid south thing. I have an e-mail from them today saying they have openings on that Friday and Sunday. I have to call the plant to schedule a tour of the plant on the Friday. So I really need to know how many can actually make it. I think Saturday may interfere with something at the museum but she said Sunday is open for sure. I am going Monday morning to talk to her. We have several options we can do. I know a guy who has his own concession business or I think we can possibly eat at the museum. They have different tour drives they have or we can make one up of our own to drive around Bowling Green, I know the whole city so its just really what happens happens. By the way does anyone remember the thread that has the advertisement about joining us on SilveradoSS.com because I need a few of them to put on some SSS that I have seen around here or I might advertise it in the paper. Please tell me what you want and I will try to get it done. Remember I will talk to them on Monday but I have already told her I want that weekend so lets get those SSS cleaned and rollin towards Exit 28 to Bowling Green, Ky (Home Of The Vette). By the way for the interest Vette City Liquors is just a mile away. Thanks in advance for showing an interest and helping me get this done. Hopefully we can make it an annual thing. Jim

Well I am pretty sure we have a date set to have a get together at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. They told me they have open Nov 3, and 4th. It is up to us what we want to do, we can tour the plant on Friday and get together in the museum lot on Saturday and tour the museum. I just need to know who all are interested and can make it. I am trying to iron out the details with them but I am going to let them know tomorrow that the dates are ok if we can get enough to be here. Hi Jim, I'm the NCM Events Manager and often work with Lavonne on club visits. I am also Adam's boss.
As Lavonne mentioned we are filled to the max on the September dates you mentioned. We only have Volunteer Appreciation day on November 4th and that won't interfere with anything you might be doing. Our local volunteers meet here and we take them for a road tour and lunch. In my 3 years in Bowling Green, that first weekend in November has been really beautiful weather.
As to group size, we have no specifications and will work with you if your are 6 or 60 people. We can arrange a Museum tour, a short or long road tour, lunch at the NCM just to name a few things.

This is my last email from them is Nov 4th bad for anybody? I think thats all we will get this year. P.S. Still working on the track but I figure we may have to have enough guys willing to help pay for it. I have seen a few SSS here but I dont think they are members does anyone remember the thread where we could copy that ad to come join us on here I cant find it now.

well it looks like that date is out. They want to know if we want a weekend thing or to make it one day. I am only off every other weekend and I dont think they can get us as quick as Sept. 22,23,24. My next weekend is in Oct and I will be in the mountains that 1st week. I can try for Nov 3,4,5 but I dont know about the weather, its usuallly pretty tolerable till about December. I am emailing them again and see what about those weekends if not we may have to wait till spring. Dang I wish I would have thought of this earlier.

There is one hotel across from the museum and several at exit 22 just 5 miles before the museum coming north or past the museum coming south. I haven't heard from her yet so I will keep you posted. Thanks Jim.

Ok everyone I have emailed the lady at the museum about trying for a get together on Oct,20,21,22. I think it will include a tour of the museum and the corvette plant. I wont know anything till I hear back but I have to have some feedback of how many are interested in coming and try to get the dates that we can all make it . As far as the track I still haven't made contact with the owner but I am still trying. Hang in there I am doing the best I can between working 12 hr shifts. Please give me some feedback if you are really interested. Thanks Jim

Even if we dont get the track the museum said they could put together like a drive around Bowling Green. I am going to try to get everyone involved that I can to try to make it a success.

sounds good. What's the deal on the track? Are we going to rent it or will it be open for anybody to use? To rent it we would need a lot of people and a lot of $$$. Let me know more details.

It will definately be a weekend and I only get off every other so I have to make arrangements myself. I got a listing of all their events thru next year also, it may have to end up being sometime in spring if I cant get it all worked out before it gets cold. I just need to know about how much interest we have. I have talked to a guy who I work with about dee-jaying for us maybe he has his own dj business and I still need to talk to a guy I know that has a concession business also. From what I am looking at I believe we may have a chance on Oct,20,21,22 and Nov 3,4,5. I think. That is probably what we have b4 it gets cold. I am keeping in contact with them by e-mail so if these dates are not good I can start looking in the spring, I have the 07' calendar also. Let me know Jim

I don't know if anyone else had kept up with the topic of the SS'S in Ky but we talked about a get together and I suggested one here in Bowling Green at the Corvette Museum and maybe go to Beech Bend Raceway. Well this is what I found out I went to the museum today and they were interested in letting us have one they said they knew Mervz also. Well they gave me several ideas of what we could do like tour the museum and tour the Corvette plant. What I need to know though is who would be interested and try to figure out a weekend to have it on so we can all get there and they can accomodate us. As far as Beech Bend I still have not got anywhere but the guy at the museum said that when they rent the track it like $2500.00 for 4 hrs so I am not sure on that yet I am going to try to get in touch with the owner once we can try to get a date and time going. It don't have to be just us Kentuckians, I want to try to see who all is interested. So give me some input please so I can do some talking. Thanks Jim.

Hey guys I went to the corvette museum today and talked to them about a gtg and they are all for it. I need to do some work on who can come and when to schedule it. I am going to make a new post on the gtg/rally to see if anyone else is interested.

Just a thought, but I say we try to have a meet at the Corvette Museum here in Bowling Green, After all it is the Corvette of trucks. Thats just a thought I know there were several pics taken there that is on the websites gallery. Maybe I can do some asking around about letting us have a get together or something then we are just right down the road from Beech Bend Raceway park (how about a race?). If any thoughts let me know, just trying to come up with something.
