  1. Chase, When I talked to the Eaton support person they made me believe that the intake ports would be pretty univeral meaning they would have applications to work on most LS based engines. Now I don't know if they are going to be released all at the same time or not. As for running a roots style this is exactly what I am afriad of. My truck as it stands now make tons of power (torque esp) down low. Bolting a roots style on top of that might prove to much for most other parts on the truck...or I simply might not hook, even with AWD. I know the twin screw develop lots of power and kick in a little after the roots does but before a centrifical. Of course this isn't always the case, depending on ones particual setup. I want something different, something hardly anyone else has. Everyone has Magnacharger, chase is the man with the Vortech. I know others who have prochargers. Hardly anyone has Kenne Bell, and of the few people I have heard of running kenne bell they aren't running the 2.8 liter. Although Kenne Bell support and customer service seems to need alittle work to say the least. As for the price the 2.8 start out at around 5600 and can go up to around 6200. I'm getting ready to order the built 4L80e FROM FLT here very soon, but as for a FI setup I am still totally undecided.
  2. Anyone with a storker thinking about running this new set from Magnacharger. I've heard form a very reliable source that the new 4 rotor design is really effective at creating tons of HP. The 122 put out great numbers in all the tests they ran it through but if couldn't keep up with engines that were pushing more cubes. I called Eaton 2 weeks ago to see when the due date was for the 2300 to hit the street they said a month or so. I'm a torn between that and the Kenne Bell 2.8 liter. Of course Bell and the boys are making it quite an easy decision with their lack of customer servise and people who know what the hell is going on around there. I do know that the new ZR1 corvette has a Eaton 2300. Should be an interesting spring. I'm also thinking about converting my truck over to E85. It has it's pros and cons but I think the 105 octane outweights pretty much everything else. The lack of stations that carry it will make it difficult but after the spring I don't think I will be doing road trips with my truck. Of course I say that now...
  3. I have belltech spindles. I made the mistske of just putting them on. A month later they turned rust color. Looked like ass. Then I installed a brake kit. The bigger rotors hid the ugly spindles. Now all you can see is my baer brakes. Personally if I had to do it over I'd take the extra time and a few extra dollars and get them coated in something. Caliper paint is a good idea.
  4. Chase if you like Asanti wheels you might also want to check out Luxury Symbolic. Also does anyone have a pic of a 325/ inch width on an SS with 22's. It seems like the would be sticking out quite a bit past the wheel well.
  5. Man that is unreal. I noiced you said you were going to run 91 on the street. Ever thought of transfering your truck over to E85. I mean you live in Cal, don't you guys have a lot of them out there?
  6. Hey guys, I am probably going to be switching out to a built 4l80e here very soon. I just want to get an idea of what people would be willing to pay for a used 65. I have a number of upgrades on it including Torque Converter, clutch plates, and shift kit all installed by Wheel to Wheel's (Michigan) trans guy. I have a Wheel to Wheel built 402 pushing out some really good hp and the trans so far has been flawless. Miles on truck are about 44,000. However miles on upgraded trans are 10,000.
  7. Yeah I opened my mouth about the cam...I mean in the long run the dealership would have found it if my engine was toast so I just saved the time. Yeah Zippy is correct. The engine combo is cheaper than a new LQ9 plus the price of a blower... I asked Kurt about the install of the 80 trans but doubt I will. He said it was a nightmare to install and even harder to program. What other mods should I do to the tranny? Suggestions guys? My current mods are Trailblazer TQ and shift kit.
  8. Well driving down the road last Thursday my engine blew a hole the size of a softball through the side of it. I was pissed to say the least. I had it trailored to the nearest GM dealorship but knew they wouldn't touch it of cover the damage through warrenty considering I had a new cam and other work done to it. I knew I had to get it out of there as soon as possible so I took it down to Wheel to Wheel. I am having them build one of there crate 402 longblocks...and after a visit today it turns out this might be somewhat of a good thing. I talked to Todd, Kurt, and Billy (the engine building guy) they said the new engine would easily make 580 hp...and get this...it is going to be cheaper than buying a new stock engine, and adding FI to it...

  10. Symbolic 22x9.5 wrapped in Nitto 420 rubber 305/40/22. I had the wheels custom powdercoated and turned out perfect IMO. Goodmark w/ ram air. The ram air intake is not functrional, it's a cheap piece of plastic insert.
  11. Thanks for the pics Zippy. Yeah since he took the pic I put on the Baer Alum Sport brake kit...really stands out behind the black wheels. The mods zippy did really woke this thing up. I had Wheel to wheel finish up the idle issues and I couldn't be happier.

    I don't mind. I trust Zippy...besides he breaks he buys! It sounds like Zippy drives like I do so I would rather he test it by smashing it into the ground rather than milking it...

  14. If you're not ready to spend a lot of money on your FI don't even think about the Detroit kit. I was quoted for 8k for turbo installed and tuned. This didn't even include major tranny work you will need or shift kit, or anything eles. By the time I included everything like tranny work TC and shift kit I was exceeding 12k...
  15. I have 22in. Symbolic wheels I got custom powdercoated black...I recently bought the Mothers Power Ball and was wondering what kind of product I should be using with it...since powdercoating is more of a paint I didn't buy wheel/ chrome polish. Suggestions?
  16. Man that is sweet. Congrats! I have always wanted to go bear hunting but never made the time. We see Black bear all the time up north trout fishing (Michigan) but nothing like that big boy!
  17. If you go to ebay search DNJ wheels. I just got my Symbolic wheels custom powdercoated wrapped in Nitto 420 rubber and shipped for cheaper than what others companys wanted for just the wheels.
