  1. Like others said no...if you don't let him drive it normally he has no idea what to expect and on prom night crazy things will most def happen. Think back when you were a kid, would you let you borrow your truck? I know I wouldn't, that thing would have been red lined every stop light. I would have brought it back smokin. If you honestly want him to have a sweet ride for the night go to a rental car place. Rent a cadillac for the night (less than $75) in your name get the insurance on it and off he goes. If something happens so be it, at least it didn't happen to your truck.

  4. No you're right I was just shocked to see the price so low with only 7 hours of biding left and counting. Check out some other ZO6's online...without engine work they cost as mush if not more. I'm sure they won't sell it for 43K but who knows Was thinking the same thing, but with a 427 under it I could look past that...plus the color is perfect IMO

  6. Is that a goodmark ram air hood that you cut the center out of? It looks good. I have the same hood and am thinking of doing something like this on mine also, but what do you do if caught in a rain storm.
  7. If you're serious about running that kind of power and want to put it to the ground, I'd look at getting some ladder bars for the rear. Makes no sence spending that much $$ on performance if you aren't putting it to the ground. With the truck lifted that high you will most def get axle hop.

  9. I never checked on the price of the RBP grills...that is ri-cockulious. What about fender flares? I have a friend that might be selling a set of unused bushwacker Pocket style fender flares. They are black but I'm sure you could paint them to match.
  10. I was going to ask what style shocks you went with. I was going to say, don't play around and get Bilstein or Fox. Both expensive as hell but worth it. For the grill I like the one you found but check out RBP grills. Again expensive but if you can find one used save you $$, get it black to match your wheels. Looks sweet as hell man
  11. First thing, if I had to do my setup over again I would have gone turbo...no question, so take your salesman outfit off. Only reason I am giving you flack is because you are misleading the orginal poster with the word UMPH regarding maggies. From a hole shot there are very few things that will hang with the roots stye blower for the first 60 feet. In a street race that is what you get sometimes. I don't have a TQ curve, I have a TQ wall. Take a look a a dyno sheet of a 2300. The TQ these things make down low is instant and huge. To call that UMPH is very misleading. We are talking to a person here that is NEW to FI, with little or no experience to superchargers or turbos. Even throwing him a 2300 would be to way to big. You are not trying to sell me a turbo, I am just trying to make you understand there are other very good FI setups out there even maggies that add more than UMPH as you put it. And to say "step up to the big leagues" you mean like Funny cars, or rails? How many turbos you see on those. I know with the way things are going we will eventually see turbos on both but for right now don't forget superchargers still are king of the hill. Way off topic I know but don't jump into the "big leagues" argument yet with your turbo setup. to put an end to this I love turbos, BUT to the orginal post, I think a 1900 maggie would be great for your setup.
  12. I never said a maggie can or would compete with a turbo...get off it. Quite comparing to two. If you read my post in full you would have also read "If you want all out power, TURBOS is the way to go" I simply said telling someone a maggie would add more "UMPH" is totally misleading. Everyone knows you love turbos...be at least a little open minded here. To try to sway a person into a turbo that is just being introduced into FI is like sleeping with a porn star to loose your virginity...A little over kill I say. You're only going to get hurt in the end, or at lease the clap. Baby steps bro.
  13. Wow if that isn't a one sided post. A ton of people have been making a lot of power with the new 1900 and 2300 Maggies. I totally agree if all out power is what your after I would suggest turbo hands down. But to claim "a little more UMPH" with a 2300 is a little off and missleading. Superbrd made over 700 AWHP out of his 2300 and I am assuming Dave (usbodyguard) will too no problem. I will to with my build in the spring. Back to the orginaly post it sounds like you are after a little more power not beat the world power to break records. It is no secret turbos although more efficent and more capibable, require more customization, like heat sheilding, tuning, fabing ect. If you want hassle free, complete bolt on power look into Magnacharger. From the orginaly post it sounds like that is what you are after. If you want to go bigger like others have pointed out look turbos or centrifical superchargers.
  14. My whole issue is since people want to caption or filter what we can or can't talk about on a forum what happens when we log off? Are you guys just a bunch of unpinionated sheep that can't justify there own track of mind? I guess I must be the guy that makes others cry then? If I have an opinion about something I will and want to defend it. Weather it is on a forum in a classroom or in the middle of the street. To tell people this a an "automotive only" themed forum is going to quickly subject out all a lot of board people. Sure we all (most have) have SS's but what else. Last time I checked people get on here and talk about their day, they tell stories of their wifes, children, weekend...it is a place to share. If we can't talk race, religion, politics, or ethics with others in fear someone might get their feelings hurt then I fear the worst. Poor little Billy, I say Billy needs a swift kick in the fruit basket and get the minerals flowing. And what in the hell does "get out of hand" mean. I understand language...no problem. Someone uses vulguar language: fine, but what are you afraid of, Internet cage matches? Smiley faces giving each othe the finger? wife jokes? What? Personally I like to argue. I like to talk/ argue about things I know about. If your feelings are hurt in the process I really could care less...grow a set and man the F up. I'm tired of everyone in the dam country trying to make everything equal. Unfortuatly it isn't anything like that outside of candyland and Hollywood. And to say people are passionate about a topic so we "shouldn't" talk about it is completlely bassackwards. If people are passionate about a topic like race or my favorite religion they SHOULD be able to defend and explain their side. If not, we are coming full circle here....sheep!

  17. Was thinking the same exact thing. People strapon an air intake and expect to add 40 WHP and are completely floor to get actual #'s on these things. I was one of the few who got there truck on an AW chassis dyno and I can tell you these drive trains eat up a ton of power. A stock SS would probably make 260-275 AWHP. I'd would have to see dyno graphs to believe your stock SS made 390AWHP. I hardly made that with my stroker.
  18. Yeah if you are wanting to do a 408 stroker now would be the time to do it while the engine is out and tore apart. Like Chase said all you would have to come up with is a little more cash for the Crank and new Pistons, either way the price for R&R (assuming you are having it done) is already under way...

  20. Chase although I don't know you personally I knew immediately upon reading that it was the Camaro...nice man I have an 09 Silverado DD (1500) I am also looking for a lift for. Wish I would have gone 2500 for the tough looks and just size, but between gas millage and the fact I wouldn't use it near enough to tow I couldn't justify it. Thinking 6 inch BDS or 7 inch Fabtech lift with 35's. The setup I am getting are the 20 KMC addict's with 35 Toyo MT. Which tires are you looking at Toyo MT, new Nitto Grappler MT, are you going ot do anything else to the engine? ATS turbo? Banks system?...make sure you post pics of the truck when you are done. Perfect color IMO
  21. I was lucky enough to ride in both the ZR-1 and ZO6 vettes. I would hands down take a ZO6 anyday. Don't get me wrong I loved the ZR-1 but the ZO6 just felt better for me and has more room for customizing for my tastes. I always thought the capibilities of that 427 were just unbelievable. The ZR-1 is an awsome car but it's too custom for me, form the hood to the paint... I would want to add my own tastes to it and with a car like that it's hard to do. Now, with that being said I would without question take the Veyron. It will do the quarter and almost stop before you complete the quarter. It can stand still and let you pass at 100mph and beat you to 200. With a car like that there is really nothing custom you could do it make it better. It is ulgy as hell tho but for rarity and performance factor I could over look that/

  23. Man Chase you're killing me. My girl and I have been trying to close on this really sweet house we found since last April. Everything that could have possibly fell through did. We just sent another purchase agreement through last night. If we get it I can't wait to show you guys pics. The garage space is completely over the top. Congrats man. We need more pics.
  24. Yeah I have the TVS 2300 on there with the stock TB. I remember reading about your trouble's with your TB. I planned on upgrading to either one of the car style TB LS2/ LS7. I read that Dave (USbodyguard) put a LS7 on his (of course he has a 427 so maybe he was just sticking with the theme) and was just wondering what differences there were. Right now on ebay it seems like the LS7 is a bit cheaper so I was just making sure. Also, where are you guys getting your custom J-tubes.
