  1. Well Guys I went with the Baer Decela rotors and pads. I really like the fit and finish of these rotors. They are very heavy/thick and look much better than the old. Found for a great deal at Autozone.com if anyone else is interested. Be sure to get the 7,200gvw rear rotors!
  2. That looks sharp. I like that better than having that big gold bowtie on the back. Good work
  3. My first thought was a bad lifter. Had a f-150 with that ticking. But my father said to check the valve springs. If the oil pressure it up and the spring cracks he said "they will half-ass work but you get that sound when they crack rubs against itself" not sure but good luck.
  4. Hello Everyone, I wanted to report a problem that I had. Under 20k miles ago I put on the SSBC slotted rotors and hawk pads. First I was mad since they were not zinc coated as they said they would be. Secondly, these were not their own production, the box even said raybestos on it. They just cut the slots in the rotors! Well now they are failing, they have started to delaminate and you can see the pad is only touching the rotor in less than half the rotor's surface. I am not very impressed. I guess when I got the rotors and pads for $500ish it was too good to be true. I am now thinking about going with the NAPA ultra performance rotors and ceramic pads. Anyone had success with these. I know I should upgrade to 14"-15" rotors but the SS is a dialy driver. Any help would be appreciated, Barney
  5. if you could hammer and dolly a raised SS into the tip and then paint in the recess I think that would look pretty trick. But I dont know how to do that kind of metal work!

    Rims

As far as offset goes you will be near stock with a 18-20 mm offset. You can go more but this is almost dead on. I found some BOSS Motorsports rims and love them I only purchased 20" wheels to go with my tire sets. But they make a nice clean wheel and the price is unbeatable. These are made in the usa and are the truest rim I have ever seen. www.bossmotorsports.com you can purchase them from summit racing but they are under $300 a wheel for Black. summit Website
  7. Dylan, How is this compared to the DER products you turned me on to a couple of years ago? Can you still get the DER or is that company done with consumer products? Barney
  8. That brings up an issue I have been wondering about also. All winter long I never saw my trans temp go over 113. I thought this was on the cool side not that cool is bad but I was curious. I only change the fluid, never changed out the cooler. I use the B&M Trick Shift (non snythetic)
  9. I have thought of this too. Saw it in the back of Car and Driver a year ago. Just wonder how much the LEO's would complain about it???? In NY you cannot do anything to limit the light emission.
  10. VHO GMC, Those look nice. DId you opt for the zinc coating? I didnt are really regret it (ordered it but didnt send back the nondipped rotors when they came in). What did they run you for $$$?
  11. I was just thinking. I know that Albany is 4 hours from here, as a frame of reference. I really wish this was Arrival Blue and I would have already bought it!
  12. Did anyone notice the Gray WRX beside the truck? They cut the front end up to mount the Intercooler on the outside of the car. What is with that car club?
  13. Hey what is the price you would like to get and how far are you from Albany, NY?
  14. Can you post the part #'s for the rest of us? Thanks
  15. I am impressed you got the drain plug out and were able to drain the fluid. I could not get mine to come out. Trust me I tried. I used a 3foot 1/2inch breakerbar and only made the drain plug into a spiral helix shape. Honestly I was putting at least 150+ ft/lbs of torq on that plug and it never moved!!
  16. That Spoiler looks great!! Any thoughts on selling that cover cheap to a fellow SS owner?
  17. Sorry to hear that man. You are in good company here if you get bored during recooping. Have no shame Lance did it too. What is your bike and what kind of riding do you do. I like dh myself especially since I am in the "clydesdale" class for xc racing.
  18. If I were to to go the popper route I would recommend this unit. I have had it for over a year and it works below zero and fits great. http://www.ezdown.com Just my $0.02, I thought about it too but like LeftCoast Chevy said it will slam everytime otherwise.
  19. Okay good info... But what about the dual/dual they make ? http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/display...artnumber=12569
  20. Fireman31, Is the muffler you are using a direct replacement? I want a better muffler than stock w/o changing all the pipes.
  21. I use the SSBC slotted rotors and Hawk Pads. They sell them as a Front & Rear Kit for around $450. Good quality parts but be sure to get the zinc coated rotors.
  22. I would see if you can get them to match the colors to your tribal graphic. That would be a great combo. I am sorta interested in these too. Just wish they spelled LITER not Litre.
  23. no the upper level of the avalanche is narrower. I thought I got a deal only $50. But they want $40 to reshelf it. What a deal?
  24. I have purchased two grilles and neither fit right. I would rather not use an Ebay source again! Does anyone have an extra they know that fits? My local shop ordered me an avalanche grille and will not take it back with out an insane restocking fee....Bastards!
  25. Mr. P, I really want to add the Vette servos but not sure I want to jump into DIY. Is it truly that easy or should I take it somewhere. I DONT do trans work, never have never planed on it. Barney
