I followed the Mr. P "how to post" on changing all the fluids. I went with the Auto Trak II in the T-case, Mobil 1 in the front and rear diffs. But I started getting a lot of noise in the front diff. I thought I had gone too thin with the synthetic gear lube. so I drained out a quart and added Lucus HD gear fluid. and wow It got Quieter and feels better. I know thicker fluid is going to give me more parasitic drag and all that but I could not stand the sound! In the Tranny I switched out to the Mobil 1 and noticed it is a bit thinner, I want to try the Ford ATF and see what that does. Others have called this a "shift kit in a bottle" anyone had any success or information on this?

Try to get ahold of AUTOguy.....He does some amazing stuff with decals. And I know for a fact he has the "SS" style font down perfect. Hit him up for some ideas. He is not a personal friend of mine but I seem to like his ideas and often read his posts. Good luck -Barney

Thats a nice set up. What is your cost? Does it come with an intercooler? I saw an intercooler with one once. It was sweet. But it had a funny front clip lol. Hey eSScalade how did you do that set up?

Well I am a car guy and I hate being treated like I know nothing. That has tobe the worst thing ever. When I bought my SS they had 3 on the lot. One in each of the color. I knew what the truck was/had down to the torque settings. This new sales guy approaches me after (20 minutes of walking around) and trys to me all kinds of BS about the vehicle.....Dont do that. I apparently didnt look like much with my old beater truck for a trade but still I have 10 years of college and numerous degrees dont treat me like a moron.

I got BAD@SS in New York. the @ symbol is the little state outline almost looks like a hyphen. Check your DMV website. You can check them out and see if they are availible online in NY. Maybe the other states have this too?

I picked up a set of Cooper Mastercraft Courser HTR Plus. I have been very pleased with them. They have a stiffer sidewall than stock and have a great tread in the snow and rain. I have put 2k miles on them and just love them.

NO Help? I really need to know should there be two washerfluid sprayers on the Driver's side?

Hello All, I had a cracked windshield and had to have it replaced by someone else. Now I have a problem with my winshield washer spray. On the driverside I have the arm with 2 jets of spray and only 1 jet on the passanger, Is this right? I never noticed before! Secondly, I have very terrible pressure on my Driverside spray and it works great on the passanger. Did the Glassguy switch them by accident? I need to fix this really fast and it bugs me I dont know the answer as to why it is not working right. Thanks in advance Barney

I didnt paint mine for about a year I was not sure I wanted to or not just like you. Then I saw BigO's or BigTex's truck they sent me a pic with the Black Grille. So I did paint it, and for about a month every time I saw the truck I was like DAMN why didnt I do that before. It is well worth painting. Barney

Well I dont want to go all science teacher on you guys but Red is the SLOWEST color. The wavelengths are the longest and take the longest to reach your eye. Redshift in astronomy states that we know the stars are moving appart since they have a red hue to there spectrum. Therefore, Blue (really indigo) would be the fastest color. However, The Black still looks fastest at night when light is not being emited. And Chase must be colorblind since he does not follow the rules he is too fast for Black in the daytime.

I beleive that knub is just the pocket that the tail of the spring mounst in. I would do a combination of grind it down and mill the hole in the radix bigger. where did you get that goodyear tensioner.

I remember a year back there was a HalfShaft advertised on TRUCKS on spiketv. They were for what Stacy David said extreme conditions they are built to the same specs as Indycar halfshafts. Sorry for the life of me I cannot remember the name of the company but I remember they were $1500 each and they were "indestructable". Try a search if you dont think the drop is your issue. Barney

I see you or the previous owner painted the brake ducts but not the grille. After doing it myself on a blue truck I would highly recomend you paint that Gray plastic with some KrylonFusion paint. It will finish the black on black look to a T! Nice looking truck

Last time I was in Conn. I saw a pair of Viper and ZO6 police cars. I dont think you are going to get away in Conn!!

the PCV stands for Positive Crankcase Ventalator. when you step on the throttle hard the little valve closes and does not suck air from the valve cover into the intake. This makes more cold dense air enter the TB and as a bonus it does not let oily vapor enter the intake and deposit just behind the Throttle Body. If you take yours off I bet there will be sludge building up and it smells like burn oil. this sludge slows down airpassage in the intake runners.

Try to PM one of the gurus to get the chevy part number. I dont think you will find many that have been taken off. Check with Mr. P or Autoguy they seem to know all the part numbers. What else have you done to the truck I live about an hour north of you, is it possible to get on the airport run way near ACC and run them....Hmmmm??? I like the honeycomb grille but I still cannot get used to that "powerdome" not my style.

Welcome (Cheerio), I have no damn clue how you will keep an SS full of gas in the UK but I am happy to hear you got one and held out for the truck you wanted. I did the same thing minus the fight across the pond to pick it up.
