  1. There is a whole thread/ threads that explain the PCM swap. All it is is just a black cover that is removed with 2 clips then take your nut driver and remove 2 bolts that go into the PCM, then with the new one at your side, repeat the steps backwards. If you dont want to have your ride down, simply tell him you want to keep your stock PCM and when your new one arrives, either keep the old one( I did just to have a backup in case) or I believe you can send it back and he will give you a credit. I went through W4M on my 2000 Silverado and they offer $75 core charge if returned.

Well maybe not.. I didnt realize I had to take out the..... ECM and TCM? and send them away... I cant give up transportation right now.. Im a teacher.. I go back to work on Tuesday... I guess I'll keep looking..

I live by Ft Lauderdale and went to High School there, why couldnt I have a teacher like this, I could maybe do some installs on the teachers truck and my grade would be effected when install is complete LOL( God knows I needed it in High School). I see you said your coming from Oakland and US1, my girl lives right there in the neighborhood behind the strip clubs/LA fitness.. maybe I'll catch you drivin one day.

  2. Hey, 06Redss, I was looking at those today in a stylin concepts mag. Interior is black so I'm going with black charcol mats with SS stitched in smoky/silver. Yours look good seeing as how they match the truck. Also, saw you were in Lauderdale, I'm in Boca and my GF lives in Lauderdale, I'm always crusin around down there. Maybe I'll run into you sometime.

  3. I think it depends on the color of your truck. Mines black so with them blacked out, there really no differnt from lets say a silverado bumper thats black. I think the silver ducts on my black truck makes them stick out like mentioned before. Now, if your truck is a different color like the Victory red that was posted with the black ducts, that looked really good.

  4. I bought mine July 29th on a rainy day, drove 2.5 hrs across the state to pick it up. They were asking 23,9 with 24,501 on the clock but I got the stealership down to 22,9 and they gave me 8 for my 00 5.3 with 103K on it. 03 SSS Onyx Black AWD with 4.10's, 6 CD changer ..every option avalible on the 03 model. There were some minor things wrong with it that were easily fixed. I was a little suprised while driving to work that I was taching 3K @80 MPH but I didnt expect it to get good MPG.

  5. I remember when I first joined when I still had my 00 5.3, Everyone on here was very helpful and guided me in the right direction. Tx tbss, I'm sure that you will not have a problem trading the tbss for an sss, seeing as how alot of guys need to get an suv for their growing family and whats better than having an suv that will blow the doors of your friends vehicles while loaded with kids and groceries, ( well dont race with kids in the car) but you know what I mean.

  6. Hmmmm, I have never been a fan of the color matched rims to go with the paint. I think it looks gangster (which is not really my style) but then again, I have never seen an SSS Victory red with red rims. Maybe if I see a photoshop like MR P said it might change my mind. There is a kid in my neighborhood that has a turbod intergra white with white rims and I thought that looked good. Maybe post a photoshopped pic and go from there.

  7. Ya, when I bought the truck, it looked like it was garaged by the previous owner. I brought it home last Sunday and immediatly started detailing. My brother is down from college and we decided to try and really make it shine with a nice coat of wax that only took about 1.5hrs LOL. The catch to him helping me wax was I had to help him wash and wax his supra. Thats going to be happening today so maybe I can get pics of the SSS and his supra.

  8. So I narrowed it down even further, should I only run 1 Flowmaster 40 dumped or 2 flowmaster 40 series dumped or am I just spending $ on another muffler because I highly doubt I'm going to gain anything from adding another muffler except maybe more noise.

  9. Hey man, good to hear your stepping up. Takes alota balls and you should be very proud of yourself and absolutly ALWAYS take pride in your decision and your country, you will learn many things in basic that civilians do not understand. I had spent about a year talking to a recruiter on and off and training with them. I was going to use my certs to advance in the core but decided to stay local. Also wanted to add that I purchased my rims and tires from DaJokerSS, great kid in all aspects. P.S. get ready for "The Island" and those sand fleas haha.. Seriously, if you want any help trying to cram in some training before you get shipped out, call me or pm me and I'll meet up with you and help you out with whatever I can. :flag:

  10. O.K. I have read on this site using the search button and have not came across the exact answer I'm looking for. My SSS is stock as of now and I'm planning on throwing an exhaust system on there soon. On my old 5.3 I had flowmaster 40's and I really liked the sound so I'm going to stick with those and just dump em. My question is, from looking at the stock manifolds off the block, it looks like its a DI/SO piping. I was wondering since its DI should I run 2 mufflers then dump them or what? How have you guys who run dumps do it? Thanks, Justin

  11. HAHA!! You had to deal with Florida robbing you of hp. Thats how us florida owners feel after we come back from the track then look 2 see that guys who are stock are running the same times or lower than those who have some bolt ons are. Haha my old 00 ran a 15.6 best and a guy from Indiana ran about .4 better than me and had the same mods. DAMN THIS FLORIDA ROBBING ME OF HP

  12. Hey guys, I have an extra PCM that I used on my 00 silverado that was tuned by W4M. I sold the truck and put the stock PCM back in it leaving me with the one tuned by W4M. Now I have an 03 SSS and was wondering if I'm going to need an 03+ PCM to be tuned for my 03 SSS or is it possible he can reprogram the one that was in my 00 to fit my 03 SSS? I spoke with Kelley performance and I'm saving up for his custom tune but in the meantime I'd like to see some more performance besides the stock PCM. If anyone has any info on this is would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Justin

  13. Hey guys, just upgraded to an 03 SSS therfore, the name I currently have (00silverad0) will need to be done away with. I couldnt find a section that directly said member name changes so I took a shot in the dark, if this is not right, please point me in the right direction. Anyway, I would like my member name to be changed to SSSmoke eater if possible. Thanks
