  1. Sweet deal...I've owned two 70's, one long bed and one step side wide box. Of course I sold both of them, wish I still had them. The long bed was a CST-10 with a BB 402 with automatic trans and the wide box was a C-10 came with a straight six, though we swapped it out for a BB 396 backed with a Muncie 4-speed, that was a fun truck

  2. 3.87 (chevron)for 93 here and dropping.

I passed by a wal-mart and the price was 3.58 regular, and if you use a gift card they take off 10Cents per gallon, not sure how much the 93 cost their tho.

Seems like everthings cheaper in Texas  excpet for power that is. Anyway here premium 92 octane is $4.49 on avg.

  3. Some of you may now that I recently added a TBTC and Zippy shift kit. Since I first got my SS out of the shop it would shift nice and smooth, almost as smooth as stock, and very firm under 3/4 to full throttle. Well today the 1-2 shift started to shift firm under light load and the remaining shifts were still smooth. Any ideas as to what is causing my SS to shift this way? It wouldn't be the PCM, could it? My tuner claims he reset the line press back to stock values and disabled all the torque managemnt.

My tranny guy says that theres not much that could cause this, he's thinking the accumaltor spring snapped or something like that...make sense?

I've had two tranny leaks, a outside temp switch broke/missing, a exhaust vibration, and now this since the install  Not my luck, so far my tranny guy has fixed everything and keeps apoligizing for me having to come back and gets me in the shop immediatley. I appreciate his willingness to correct the problems but this is getting old. Sorry for the rant, I needed to unload...Im going to kick the cat next

  4. HELLO..I'M NEW TO THIS SITE....I HAVE A 06 SS INTIMIDATOR..AND WAS WONDERING

IF THERE WAS A WAY TO INCREASE THE MILEAGE....BESIDES DRIVING LIKE AN OLD LADY!!......12.6 IS NOT TOO GOOD THESE DAYS!.............

RIGHT NOW MY TRUCK IS COMPLETLY STOCK......BAD THING IS I HAVE A 70,000 MILE WARRANTEE!..IT ONLY HAS 10,300 MILES ON IT NOW............RICK.69SS

I don't think there much you can do without adding a tune. With my mods I only get about 13 to 14 mpg's in town. I drive a 4 cylinder Honda to and from work to ease the pain Welcome to the site and post pics, we'd love to see your Intimdator

  5. No thats hp to the flywheel. He isn't stock, but he's not heavily modded either.

Being it has the stage 1 kit at a minimum and those numbers are accurate (350hp) it should be close. He is lighter than you being a single cab so dont hold back, get the jump...be sure and get it on vid if you can  Good luck bro!

  6. Hey guys. Theres an orange silverado RSR here in Lubbock that I have been wanting to run. I would sort of like to know how its gonna turn out before I go for it. I know that its the 4.8 version with the 5-speed, about 335hp, and a shift kit. He has had it for a while so I imagine he can shift pretty well. Any ideas how it will turn out? BTW all I have is an Airaid intake and a Corsa sport, but will have a tune very soon.

A 4.8L with 335hp? He not stock I take it. If that hp is to the wheels...he's gonna take you if he can shift. I've never heard or seen an RSR, looks good IMO. Run him anyway and let us know how it turns out. Oh, get the tune first

  7. Ya mines pretty quiet under normal driving but at WOT the Corsa Sport sounds bad ass IMO. If you want it louder add some LT's  I really like the Corsa due to no drone...I've had flowmasters and straight pipe exhaust, really annoying drone if you ask me.

  8. I am not so sure about that Brad, through personal experience I have found that launching off an idle is better then brake stalling the truck. After experimenting, I found ETs and 60 foots to be .1-.2 quicker off an idle.....brake stalling seems to make the truck bog out of the hole.

Try launching shifted into D or 3 (lock out OD) off an idle, you should see your best times this way. :chevy:

Will do...I need every tenth I can get

  9. yes i am somewhat young , 23 and alot of younger people are likely to cheat. but my girl i have i wouldnt want to loose. she does alot for me and i realaize that after seeing almost all of my friends girls who dont do half of the things she does for .

as dave said we are always going to be attracted to others no matter what. and i agree with that as some others may not.

so the key now is to find the girl i can bring home to meet my girl or better yet the girl that my girl brings home to meet me, i know if my girl is in aparty/vegas mood it will happen. next week vegad here we come. !!

btw thanks for the support weather it be negative or postive but i know where i stand in my mind and thats what will carry me on . my girl ftw.

    btw we are swingers!

Well that changes everthing...do as you please while your young  Get it all out of your system now!!! If/when you actually find one worth marrying, it will cost you big time especaily if you have kids....trust me I know this.

FYI - I have ONE little girl with my ex and it costs me nearly $1000 per month. My truck would be faster than yours if I could use that money on my truck

Oh another thing I've learned...marry for money, not love :jester::cheers:

  10. i know its easy to say you guys wouldnt have done anything but i say the same shit too. put yourself in the situation i was in and i think it would be different. imagine having over 3 hours of time to kill, i really doubt your going to sit in a court room by yourself or go to lunch by yourself.

I'm not saying I would not have talked to her but the lunch thing, no way. And yes, I've been in these situations before and have given in at times (when I was younger of course). I like to think I'm a little wiser and I can honestly say I would not have taken her to lunch. I'm thinking your younger than me, so I say why not...see whats out there but you should be honest with your g/f, sounds like you are

  11. So the question is, when ready to race do you stall your truck up (if so how much?) or take off from idle? I hear these trucks perform the same either way, what your experience been? How about with a stall convertor, shall I launch off an idle?

I personally stall my truck up to 2k and have had my best times doing that while shifting manually

How about shifting...what works best for you. Leaving in "D" and hammer down or 1st gear and shift manually?

  12. I don't like anyone touching my truck, and it pisses me off. Even went off on a couple of guys leaning on it at the FD.

Once, when I had the Camaro, I had a bunch of mexicians leaning/sitting on it while I was working (back at the gas station), so, instead of walking out there and getting into a fight, since it was like 15 - 1, called the sheirff, and said that my car was in the process of being vandleized, and right as they pulled in, I set the alarm off.

All 15 went to jail for attempting grand theft auto :D

Wonder how they liked spending a night with a bunch of drunk hill billy rednecks?

Something similiar happened to me but with my boat. I had my boat tied off at the dock while I went up and had a drink in a local bar. As I'm looking over the deck a group of people were in my boat taking pics and what not. Unlike you, I went down there and told them to get the f*ck out of my boat. They did without any hassle but I later found light switches and the stereo were left on from those people fiddling around with the controls. Not cool IMO.

I'm sure those hill billy rednecks had a chitty night...

  13. Not a good move IMO. What if that chick would have thrown her self at you? Could you have said no? Though it was innocent, this is how sh*t starts. First starts out as just talking, then going to lunch and so on. Something to think about...I for one would not like it if my wife did this, therfore I would not have taking this girl out to lunch.

That sucks about your work not paying you for jury duty. Im not sure if its law or anything but at my job we cannot loose money for jury duty. If you are at jury duty less than 4hrs we must report to work, if not we get paid as a normal day. Of course my employer doesn't check, I always say I was there all day lol

  14. Yup  Just remember that you cannot tow in overdrive anymore (put the trans into 3rd to tow).

    Mr. P. :)

Good to know, I just added a TBTC and zippy shift kit. I tow about 4 miles round trip less than 10 times a year. Can I still use the tow/haul feature or does it matter?

  15. Actually most of the mags that have been doing tests on them are running from 13.0 to 13.5's bone stock. With a CAI, Exhaust and a tune, 12's are a given.

It is a 5 speed auto. All of the 2008's are autos. The 2009 will be available with a Tremec 6 speed.

My buddy has one and hit a 13.7 bone stock. Not sure how acurate it is but that time came from the car's computer (1/4 mile time).

By the way...the stripes look GREAT

  16. I'm thinking of buying the tru cool cooler for my truck. i am leaning toward the 4590. i have also seen the other one with the bypass.(not sure of part number) which one is better? do you need to run the bypass? sorry if these questions have been asked, but i want to order one today. do they both hook up easy? and last question do the bolt into stock location without any problems. thanks bryan

I just had mine (Tru-Cool Max w/o bypass) installed last week or so and thus far I haven't seen temps above 130F. I did add a TBTC though, that alone I was told will raise temps 20F so I opted for the Max and synthetic fluid  .
