  1. My outside temp indicator in the rear view mirror is way off, it reads 108deg outside pretty much consistantly. Actual temps around my area have been about 75 to 95 deg lately. I installed a re-tune Thurs and my temp has been acting strange ever since. Is that just coincidental? Any ideas how to fix or whats wrong? The direction indicator seems to be fine.

  2. Give your re-tune time to learn, it can take a couple hundred miles for the PCM to fully get comfortable since it is constantly learning. :chevy:

FWIW, my SSS idles around 600, stock was around 550, but I had Charlie Wheatley bump the target idle up by 50rpm due to a rough idle.

Thanks Fireman, I went and drove around for a bit and everything seems to be fine  Once warmed up in gear my SS idles just below 700rpm, nice and smooth idle with no studering. Thanks again!

  3. i dont think theres anything wrong, my SS idles at about 500????

Really? Mine in gear would idle around 750 or so, now it struggles to maintain 500...a little over a little under like it wants to shut off but doesnt.

  4. So I installed my re-tune this morning and my SS struggles to idle. When I start the SS it ildes fine, then after a few blasts and normal acceleration the SS idles at about 500rpms when I come to a stop. While cruising the SS runs/idles fine. I updated the tune to include TBTC, Zippy shift kit, 160 t-stat, and trans cooler. Am I missing something? Will the SS come around after a few more miles? Any ideas

  5. Looking good, I would of liked to have a little HP too, but I think the 6.2L with 422hp and six speed would be fun  Im not to thrilled about the gauge cluster though, I like the more retro look, maybe some white face gauges or something? The Challenger has a nicer interior/gauge cluster IMO.

  6. I'd like a Zippy kit, but where can I find them? I pm'ed him earlier this week, is there a link to purchase the kit direct?

Just call him, his number is on the Zippy Performance site...remember no messages, just call back or he will return call you. I had better luck by calling him every couple of hrs or so, he'll eventually answer. I received my kit from him last Monday, though it took longer than expected due to shipping issues

  7. I thought the first Challengers out are SRT models...my buddy pre-ordered a an SRT over a year ago. Dealer tells him he should be expecting it with in a few weeks.

I got to drive my friends SRT Challenger, he got it yesterday...looks like the one Jay Leno got. Pretty sweet car IMO, pulls nicely after 3k, handles well, and has awesome stereo system IMO. I barely got it to churp the tires without power braking. Definately a head turner. I hope Chevy gets the Camaro right, if they don't I just may opt for the Challenger? We'll wait and see...

  8. As my sig states, I ran a 14.39 (60' of 2.10) with a mail order tune, cat-back, and CAI. In addition I was running 16" wheels and no tailgate, temp was about 70-75deg (not sure of elevation). My spare tire and hitch were on. I launch at about 1500rpms manually shifting at 6k. Hopefully that helps, just try different techniques, like evereyone says you should be faster

  9. Yes with a shift kit you need to have the line pressures returned to stock values. You can also have 100% of the TM removed with a shift kit. Are you planning on upgrading to Vette/billet servos too?

You will notice a big difference from stock, the truck will pull harder and feel stronger, plus shift faster and firmer now.

    :chevy:

I've got a Zippy kit on the way...I believe it includes a billet super servo and billet 4th gear servo. In addition I am also adding a TBTC and TruCool Max trans cooler. Ya I cant wait  to have all the goodies installed  just waiting on the shift kit.

  10. So I had a re-tune done, I havent been able to install it yet due to no shift kit (on its way, hopefully). My question is...should my new tune have the trans line pressure set back to normal and the torque managment removed? If that the case, how would I be able to tell the difference? My current tune has 50% or 60% TM removed and increased line press from what I understand. I guess what Im worried about is having the line press left as is (increased line press) with a shift kit, will that combo harm the trans?

  11. I've got the Traxxas JATO with the 2.5 engine. This was my first R/C car, let me tell you...except for the pavement I can hardly control the damn thing. It is seriously fast, out of the box it'll do 60mph. Some negs for me are the engine tends to get hot rather quick (not good for these little guys), super easy to break (cuz they are so fast), gas is like $25 per gal.

My father in law has several battery powered R/C's, I would consider one of those. The batteries have come a long way...

  12. Good fight...Even though I wanted to Forest to win, I think the win should have went to Rampage. He's the champ (was). Looking at each of their faces, you'd would have thought Rampage won? Although, Rampage did say at he got his ass kicked, definatly a class act
