  1. thats an ls2 intake. im using a mock up junk ls1. as for motors in the truck.....5.3 nothig wrong, junkyard 6.0 sold, then hte 6.7 which had a mishap now its getting a 4.8 till the 6.7 is rebuilt for boost
  2. it shouldnt. theres a guy on tech making close to 1200 rwhp and has his coils relocated...if works for him should work for my goals
  3. Today i peiced together my own little coil relocation setup. i put the coils back there so it would look like an old school SBC with wires in back as in if it had a distributor. I plan on going with the Chevrolet valve covers onec the 408 is done. This will work for now till i build the 408. I still have to make everything nice and purty but that was mock up...also with me being a manual and my actual bellhousing sits lower then that mock up one i used so i have plenty of room there.
  4. yes esepcially on a motor that is going ot see some RPMS. the stock pcv sucks and the vacum being pulled thru the intake from the valve cover sucks oil in the motor. the best way to eliminate all the issues along with the cheapest is just ditch the pcv and run breathers. now some will say youll get oil out the breathers if thats teh case you have soem loose tolerances in the motor. either this was a built loose motor or a stock motor that seen better days as for the smell if the motor is consuming oil youll have smell if the motor isnt you wont. i ran breathers on series of rides and only once did i smell oil and that was cause to a hurt piston
  5. both trucks have a cowl...the orange truck as the LS-6 style hood on it
  6. sorry to hear about your friend. but ppl take chances every day walking down the street, waking up, driving on the highway and etc. the 3 pics i posted was on a closed road. still dangerous but what isnt
  7. mine is a 04 1krr the other one is a 01 929rr
  8. sorry thats a stand up around 35-40mph heres what im saying to do
  9. dude slwo that shit down soem and lean back alot further. youll do alot better by sliding back some in the seat and being relaxed. also spread your legs so the knees point out ward. this will allow air to help slow you down and maintain a speed
  10. and think it only took a ditch for him to get that much attention lol
  11. been kicking the idea of the denali bed.......who has put on on a non-denali? anyone know exactly the dimensions and etc found the bed sides for 650 each new or a used bed for 1k, but i dont want to lose my skirts just curious to see info and specs of them
  12. i believe the bumpers are the same just the top cap. not a fan of those little mirrors and mess grils dont cut it for me for most part
  13. the most aggressive cam for a stock motor out there is the Trex but i wouldnt recomend that thing for a SSS..... asking what is bestcam is like asking whos dick works the best.....to vague of a question....now a properly setup combo will do wonders . expect to pay good money
  14. well my other tailgate has been shaved. when the paitn work gets done on the truck it will have this stripe on hte gate but in blue..the theme behind all this is the look of a old chevelle
  15. this is how i got the idea for my skeme of my truck to begin with but now im thinking of going with the HD grill now. what are you thoughts on this
  16. alright some might remember my turbo build. its a 408 with a PT88. Identical setup to what parish ran when he made 1011rwhp 1090rwtq. but at the current moment i cant afford to build the 408 how i want it. so i was thinking of getting my feet wet using a 4.8 litre with my setup i have parish's cam....something like 234/232 595/591 114 i believe it is, a percision 88mm turbo. im sure it will be alittle on hte laggy side but it will allow me to get my truck running again. this way i can use it ot move to where i end up moving to along with being a learning process on how to tune for boost. whats ppl's opinions on this? this is how i had it mocked up
  17. Thinkin of Texas, VA, NC, SC, or GA... I do like the warm climate for the activities but also do like cool weather some.. Im used to living near a large city and getting into things. but also want to have a house in a rual area. now out of thosse areas much feedback be nice. like where is good and where isnt to live and work. also if some could see what an Maintenance electrician is offered around there would be highly appreciated. i sent a few resumes out today..see if i get a bite back
  18. yea i seen some of the wages offered for electricians today down in texas and they are on average 10 bucks higher then it is here...i go anywhere id like to still be around the racing areas. rather it be on the bike or truck/car that would probably scare the shit out of me..feelin the ground shake
  19. ok thats closer towards me now. might think of ohio..but maybe south might be option
  20. is there many hurricanes down in this area? as for hot what temps are you talking? lot of humidity? would you know average wage down there for my field
  21. yea heard all about how cali pays alot...not a fan of earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados or flooding lol
  22. is tht out towards cinci area? if so i have an ex out that way.. ohio is a consideration its similar to PA
  23. ya i wouldnt live in cali.....sucks is average electrican/ plant maintenance guy here in pittsburgh only sees 15hr i know other places with wages COL is higher but still. Pittsburgh is an old steel mill town that all the old guys in my field know bette to not mess things up. so they have their jobs till they retire, then all companys expect to pay you the same even tho you might have more education then the previous mill hunkies
  24. hows the weather up there? i like snow but also like warm. i can live with 30s -70s ..... how about factorys and plants? i rather be maintenance for one of them using my electrical knowledge. i lik to be challenged. any close drag strips?
