  1. American Eagles would be my choice... I think Adam has those on his SS
  2. Why would a 160 stat negatively affect gas mileage?
  3. I have 3 kayaks (2 ocean and 1 river), and all of them I put in my bed with the tailgate up....Tie them down with "tie-downs" and you will be good to go. The only issue is with the tonneau cover because you have to leave it open if you leave the tail gate open... What kind of kayak are you buying?
  4. Hey word in your post, "SHE" thats why you were neck and neck
  5. Pretty interesting article about how GM and Nissan can develop a performance division based around the C6 Z06, GT-R, Camaro/GTO, 350Z, Soltice/Sky....It all seems possible but then again no one knows if there will be an alliance, or even if they would have the money to make something like this happen. Plus the performance division of GM downt make very much money anyways due to the low volume of cars that leave the lots on a yearly basis....Id perferably rather see a closer look at the larger volume cars leaving the lots... But hey people can dream http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/?p=1893
  6. With the gift you gave us in gasoline alley today I hope you hit 1000 more posts REALLY soon
  7. When you put your truck in reverse your drivers and passenger side mirrors move downward to give you a better angle of your tire and the curb if your parking next to one....when you shift it back to park or drive the mirrors should move back to their original position you have set for driving....This is probably what the guy means...then again who knows since he thinks hes one of 14 people to receive a "special" SSS
  8. It was listed at $270 before the drop to $190
  9. Welcome to the site...Just remebr the search button is your friend...have fun and trust me you win learn a lot from these guys
  10. Yea ive seen the how to, which is great. The only thing I personally dont like is the Cherry-Black color it gives off in the daytime/direct light. I dont know...Maybe 30-40 coats of the VHT will work, or send the lights to the guys above in the link from KissMySilvSS and just have them do an extra dark tink for the tails... Thanks for the opinions guys...I got the tails off ebay for real cheap so you will see pictures real soon of what they look like probably thursday when i get them in the mail....If i dont like em youll probably see em in the for sale section
  11. Mr. P how much can you expect from a good mail order tune like PCMforless? .3 of your ET...or is that too optimistic?
  12. I was looking at the chevy pics and they look too light. You can still see the red undertone of the stock tailight which seems too light or maybe im just too picky... If you get them done, take some pictures so I can see how they turned out, also what price are they asking for a stage 2 dark tint?
  13. According to MT, the new 6.2 L block with 380hp/400tq will probably be the one that takes the cake for the SS
  14. thats effin bad ass get more pics when you get a chance and post up that dyno <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jon, are you the lucky guy who works at banks or is that another memeber? Or were you the one that sees Jay Leno at your shop every once and a while because you do work on his cars? Sorry for all the Q's and get us some numbers for that bad boy when you get the dyno and tune done
  15. Yea ive been think about smoking em, it just seems like after looking at the pics of Chase's truck it seems like there is still some red tint when it is light outside which I personally dont want....Seems like the summit racing spraypaint stuff may be too thin, then again if it was thicker you may not see the brake lights... And I had the black out vent shades on my 2002 1500, and it made the tails bug out , so i guess i may have to keep the options open
  16. I like big cubes too...I personally am thinking of going the route of going bigger instead of FI...Just seems like a more stout engine would be better than risking something going wrong with the internals of the engine under 8-9 psi with the Magnuson... Now to pay off the student loan since graduating, and move onto some real mods to keep up with these socal guys like Chase, Adam and SuperSport
  17. WEP or Wireless Encryption Protocol works by establishing a shared key between the clients and the access-point, then using the key to encrypt and de-encrypt the data passing between them. This offers adequate security for a home network, where the primary concern is that your neighbors do not find out what you are downloading. To configure WEP, you must enable it on the router and on each wireless adaptor (use the management software that came with the card.), and designate a passphrase or key for the network, which must be entered identically on each system. This requires the initial card/CD that came with your router: 1. Put CD in CD Drive and wait for program to run, some routers like D-Link allow you to type in a IP address to proceed with encryption or changing of settings on you wireless router 2. It will then prompt you for a user name and password, enter them 3. Go to the configuration tab, or wireless tab 4. At this tab there should display a few significant things you may be able to change such as SSID - Basically the name/indetification your box is noticed by computers picking up the wireless signal...should say default if you havent changed it...you can change it to any name you want your router to be indetified by... WEP Encryption - a 40, 64 or 128 bit encryption, the higher the bit you choose the harder time a novice hacker will have trying to access your shared computer files, make sure this is enabled to ensure your wirless connection can only be picked up by those who have the password Keys - Ususally 1 - 4 keys also known as passwords are stored on your wireless router. You can choose what your password is by changing the keys. Just make sure to write down the password before you click apply or save due to this is what you will need to access the router with the other computers 5. Save or Apply new settings, whichever option your router config supplies you with 6. Then go to each computer in the house and right click on the monitor next to the time in the bottom right and click "view available wireless networks" and a screen will come up with a name of available wireless networks you are picking the signal up on. 7. Click on your network (if you changed your SSID it will now be under that name). The click connect 8. Your computer will connect and ask you want your password/login is...this is the same password you denoted under the Key section when configuring your router...Type this password in and you should connect and be on a safer connection than before, and now your neighbors wont be stealing bandwith and making everything run much slower Now if this was detailed enough or you something more specific to your router let me know and I will try to research your router and its configuration windows to better navigate your around...Specifically this How To was more for those of you who have D-Link, but should be similar to all manufacturers of wirless routers
  18. What do you guys think? Do you like the ones below or the current stock tails?...Theyre going on a black truck...
  19. A few guys on here have built 402's and 408's with their current blocks, and they cost about the same, but like you said youre going to be looking at a bigger "down time" if the SSS is your daily driver... I think with a 408 or 402 you leave yourself with more room to grow with a larger cube engine especially with the new magnuson 122H that is soon to come out within the next few months...You also have to take regard of the tranny issues with the AWD depending on what year your SSS is
  20. According to Motor Trend the largest motor that will find it self in the truck is the new 6.2 L 380hp/400lb-ft Even if that makes it in the new SSS I still couldnt see myself trading the current body style in for the new chevy body style...
  21. Chase, anytime you have that happen, try "right-clicking" the little monitor at the bottom right hand of your screen next to the time. If you glide over the "monitor icon" it will say something to the effect of Wireless connection... After right clicking on the icon a drop down menu will appear and click repair. The repair will take a min or two and it will refresh your connection with the wireless router. Another route is securing your wireless router with a password so other people (neighbors) cannot hi-jack your signal...PM me and I will try to walk you through this step....normally if you password protect/encrypt your router your signal wont fail so periodically
  22. I dont know why they just didnt follow the avalanche styling...Now if they put a 6.2 in the avalanche...It may be worth while to trade in the SSS
  23. Motor Trend just posted that the new 2007/2008 silverado will have the option of the 6.2 L OHV V8 380hp/400 lb-ft (obviously the new SSS engine if they make it)...theres a post I made with the scanned images from a cheersandgeers forum about the new look for the silveraod/sierra
  24. Also if you guys cant read the 2nd to last attachment (suspension picture) it says in the engines part they WILL offer the 6.2 V-8 OHV with 385 HP 400 lb-ft...possibly the next SSS engine like some of you have assumed
  25. So a new article from Motor Trend in their September Issue has pictures of the exterior and interior of the new silverado/sierra from GM... Personally I like the front end of the sierra better Link to cheers and geers forum with the pics... http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...showtopic=10523
