  1. Your truck looks much better too....what did he end up running?
  2. I just had exited Jamboree from the 405 heading North, and made a left. First run was the light on the corner of Michelson, next time was a roll right in front of the courthouse (hahahah) and we made the dead stop race in the intersection at the light right before McArthur (right next to the new business buildings where I work) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nice job right in front of the courthouse...I can never seem to get anyone in Irvine or all of OC to race at all. Seems like most people in OC have their cars for cosmetic purposes. The only people that try to race me are the little Civics and Preludes at UCI when I leave school which I wont waste my gas on. By chance do you live in Costa Mesa or stop their time to time? I always see a Red SS parked near the 55 freeway once in a while but never have seen the owner...Red sticker in the back window also I think... Audi A8 4.2 L 0-60 mph in seconds: 6.3
  3. If Alex doesnt buy the Alpine set up, Im seriously interested in the setup too
  4. , it seems like 90% of angels fans mysterious liked them as their favorite team after they won the series, same goes for the clippers after they started winning! i have loved the lakers since nick van exel days! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Its cause 90% of those fans came out of the closet Im sure you could go to an Angel game and ask 1/2 the fans "who owned the Angels from the 60's to late 90's?" and they wouldnt know...Just like Laker fans after they traded Shaq...they all went into hiding not really claiming the Lake Show as their team...and if they beat the Suns(slight chance) you will see all those stupid Laker flags flying from windows of cars everywhere....Always hated the flag idea thing... Either way every team has its fair weathered fans....Unfortunately Los Angeles (Lakers, Clips, Angels, and Dodgers) seem to suffer the most from that syndrome with its fans... Either way I was an Angel fan since the days of Chuck Finley, Mark Langston and Wally Joyner...But I can admit we dont have the die hard fans other teams do, but we also dont kill people after games at Chavez Ravine
  5. Punkt71, What street were you racing on? PCH or Jamboree? Nice kill too!
  6. The Angles and Braves....For some reason with baseball and football i pick a team from wach league....Ive never seen ATL play but I go to see the Angels play about once a month, I have tickets for their matchup with CWS this upcoming weekend
  7. Hopefully some of you professional detailers can point me in the right direction of where and what type of orbital buffer to buy. i have one of the buffers from Home depot that is a 10" similar to the ones you can find at autozone and other retailers. Is this decent enough? Seems like it spins at too high a speed and Im thinking one with variable speeds would be better suited. Ive resorted to hand waxing to due the orbital being to high of speed. Can someone suggest: Brand? Size? (10" or 8")? Where I can purchase one? Cost? TIA
  8. I was on the vette forum today and found this post about a brand new Z06 with less than 200 miles on it and his F-ing roof flies off after doing about 60....Later on page 9 he says he has an SRT-10 with an STS system on it says hes pushing about 800-900 RWHp ...I guess its possible but that is almost twice what the stock engine lays down at the rears Amazing pics of the Z06 HERE: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread...#post1554953831
  9. Would have put that truck in reverse and ran right over the SOB
  10. Isnt your truck AWD? Cause that tranny is for a 2WD truck I wouldnt worry about a new tranny until the radix and then you can just go with a shift kit with some new servos...if you start going with a blower at high psi and nitrous or meth injection along with most of your other future mods, then I would look into toughing up the tranny, but for now youd be better off spending the $$ on other things
  11. This is exactly why...basically if you ground the hood, engine, fenders front and back, trunk if we had one and your exhaust. The better your RF ground and the less noise you will hear from the various components, thus your radio will sound better due to less interference...
  12. According to CA law you have to have it on your front bumper with the correct hardware V.C Section 11713.17 B)The person understands that California law requires a license plate to be displayed from and securely fastened to the front of the motor vehicle and that the hardware necessary to securely fasten the front plate is available from the dealer. Oh well, I have my license plate on the dashboard too when I park my car...other than that I think its useless...You never see a vette with a front license plate
  13. Front License Plates -- A Vicious Cycle of Revenue Between our long-term vehicles and Edmunds.com employee vehicles we have noticed a rash of front license plate tickets over the past few months. Specifically, these tickets are given for not having a front license plate on your car. This has long been one of those "crimes" that most people don't worry about. Technically you're supposed to have a front license plate on your car in California, but we all know people who don't (including every Ford GT I've seen on the road...or in my garage). To many this jump in front license plate tickets seemed a coincidence, but it is in fact driven by a vicious cycle of revenue generation. First, the city of Los Angeles writes 164,000 front license plate tickets each year (often bagging people while they are parked in public places or at airports). At $25 a ticket that comes to a tidy sum of 4.1 million dollars. But while the "two plate" law has been on the books for years, the recent uptick in front license plate citations is now driven by a far more sinister power -- red light cameras. Seems the cameras don't work so well on cars without front plates, so L.A.-based police have been given a new directive: ticket every vehicle you see without a front plate. We even had one officer admit as much while writing up a co-worker, "See, we need those front plates on your vehicle for the red-light cameras to work." Hard to argue with that logic, right? But even my journalist-based math skills can figure out that, at over $351 for a red-light camera ticket, I'd have to get quite a few (15) front license plate tickets to justify helping these electronic demons nab me for $351. Not that I plan on running any red lights, but I've known quite a few people who have tried to cross an intersection when the light is green only to have traffic unexpectedly stop, leaving them helplessly staring into a flashbulb. If a human element were involved, such as a police officer, he could probably discern the dangerous drivers from the victims of gridlock, but the cold-hearted camera knows only that cars in the intersection when the light turns red get photographed and mailed a $351 ticket. No thanks, I'll take my chances with police officers who have nothing better to do than write $25 tickets for not having a front plate. So far my system has worked, though by writing this post I'm sure I'll have a citation before the end of the week. BTW, there's a fascinating article on red light cameras you should read(LINK), especially if you've gotten a ticket from them and are ready to fight it. Posted by Karl Mar 27, 2006 7:12 pm http://blogs.edmunds.com/.ee90327 Can one of the mods move this to general/off topic? Thought i posted there, but I guess I was wrong...TIA
  14. after a disk defrag, restart of my computer, router and wireless I thought it was just me....
  15. AZ, I just looked up your name in google and you started some flame wars on that AZLOC site....haha...some of those guys really wanted to take it to you with more than a lightning....Glad to hear you made the cover and I will be looking for it to hit the stands in a few days....congrats!!!

  17. Nope, but I hope the person who buys it takes of that hideous spoiler
  18. Welcome, did someone trade that into a furd dealership and thats where you bought it (front license plate)? Id like to know what the iddiot traded in the SSS for... Nice pick up, now onto the mods
  19. Never seen this on any car...
  20. Did some research for you... http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9863
  21. Then why not wait till you have the new design ready...then take off the stripes for a week or two and see how you like the truck without stripes....Then if you miss the decal running across the truck then throw your new design on there and youre a happy man again...
  22. I like the truck without the hockey stripes. Makes the truck look cleaner IMO. I say take them off
  23. Paint the grills inside the vents black, but dont paint the silver housing...It stands out better when it isnt painted....Thats my preference.... Here are a few pictures of the difference SS-Blown's Chevy painted all black Jharnish's Painted grills and silver housing
  24. Painted my grills black and left the vents the silver color to match the silver stock rims looks better IMO....then Im in the process of getting a polished/black bowtie/SS emblem for the grill
  25. Id go Projection with a new DLP...I have a Mitsubishi 52" DLP and its picture quality is amazing, then when you get your HD hook up for satelite or cable...You wont leave your couch.... when you are going that big compared to a plasma in that range. My buddy had a plasma for about 2-3 years and said the colors were fading and he was sad he forked over the 10K, i havent heard them breaking down, but color fading is an issue....For the price, picture quality and especially size you are looking to go with I would definitely go DLP....Dont know much about Wega, more of a Samsung/Mitsubishi/Sony type guy...But Im sure they make a quailty TV...Good luck with the purchase Hit CNET.com for some reviews by consumers of any TV you are looking to fork over 2,000 for... You can also find reviews on Home theater systems....HTIB is an okay option...but if you really want a good surround sound system dont go for the HTIB...1,500 should get you a nice set up, unfortunately my knowledge of HT systems is rather limited....I spent $400 on a HTIB and regret it to this day
