  1. Ok so I talked to Justin, and hes saying that is a oil starved lifter, or presumes it to be that way. I havent driven the truck much other than to vegas this past weekend, otherwise Ive been out on business trips. So It sounds like you guys hit the nail on the head. It sounds "similar" to that ticking sound spooling, but much louder. Then again your truck sounds more agressive then mine at idle, no condensation though. Ill check again when I get home this afternoon. Im going to change the oil this weekend with the same syntethic Mobil Ive been using since I bought the truck. Punkt71, Im just lazy man! I think this weekend Im going to go buy a sodering gun for some the wires that were cut and a NPT fitting for the truck and get this done. Then ill email you and let you know what im seeing with the 3.0 pulley. Any of you guys ever get a squeeling sound from the drive train or somewhere underneath the truck, maybe exhaust is loose? Im going to try and get a video up tonight of it. Since my huge accident back in december 18K worth of damage, where they replaced the drive shaft and left side of the rear end I was wondering if you guys have heard of something similar. If i slam the door shut it will stop for a second, even my buddy got in the back seat last night and it stopped for a second and then once it gets moving at greater than 10mph it will stop and wont happen again until I let it sit for a few hours. Truck seems to be on its period with all the issues its having this month. Thanks for all the help again guys!
  2. Thanks Quik and Mr. P. I havent checked the exhaust. Ill get under the truck tomorrow when its still light outside. I thought rocker or lifter issue also. The ticking is under idle, and slight acceleration, under full I cant hear it over the radix whine and exhaust note. I just got done checking the truck after it cooled down and no ticking? Which makes me think it isnt an exhaust issue, could still be knock I guess.
  3. Hey guys, you've always given great insight on everything engine related. I have a quick question: I have a question more suited for engine tech. The truck has developed a pretty loud "ticking/pinging" noise on the driver side of the engine. Somewhat worried this may be "knock" or could it be something else. I havent had the chance to hook up the A/F Guage or even boost guage just because of the fact Ive been away from the truck and this is the first time driving it for a little over a week and a half. Would you have any idea of why the "ticking" developed? To be honest I dont know what "knock/pinging" sounds like...DAMN Noobs....It sounds more like ticking to be honest, just in a worried mode after the install of the radix. .Justin. did a street tune and worked on it pretty extensively and I havent had the chance to install the A/F or Boost guage because Ive been on a business trip the past couple weeks. I drove the truck pretty hard tonight home from work. Just hope its something not to worry about and everyone has this problem or has experienced it...Ive turned the truck off and back on...still the ticking noise. Im going to turn it back over once it has time to cool off Thoughts or suggestions? Thanks ahead of time!!! Thanks Again!!!

    It's ON!

Actually if the Challenger weighs anywhere close to the concept (4,200lbs) which is similar to the 300C SRT8 and compared to the old camaros (2002) which weighed 3,500 lbs. The challengers extra 25 horsepower/ torque isnt going to get that pig of a challenger moving all too quicker than the new 2009 Camaro. Even if the new camaro weighs near the Holden Commodore (3,800 - 3,900 lbs) a 300 - 400 lb difference is huge in the power/weight ratio.
  5. Ask Steve Irwin about filming a TV show or whatever he was filming for that matter and if the show was capable of saving his life or keeping him out of danger...Oh wait you cant ask him because HES DEAD... TV show or not, the guy does stuff that would practically kill most of the people who tried doing what he did.
  6. How would you like to be the guy who has to be his camera man?
  7. I previously had a PCM4LESS Tune which I thought was great for what my expectations are. I forget the price but it was less then $300 with the core return, basically sending your old pcm to him once you receive the newly tuned pcm. I know Zippy has a great deal for a custom tune, and has superb customer service. Ive heard a lot of great things about Charlie Wheatley and his tunes. Also look up Nelson tunes, as there are a good amount posts about great tunes from Nelson. I personally would go the route of getting a tune in person by someone local in your area either on the street or at a dyno shop. I recently had my truck re-tuned in person for the newly installed Radix, and the cost was less then a mail-order tune. This would be the route you should go if you can find someone to tune the truck.
  8. I have to agree wiht everyone on here that is saying "Justin's a great guy." I contacted Justin just for some advice on local tuners he new of in South Orange County, and he offered his services due to him driving down from NorCal to San Diego, and offered to tune my truck on 4th of July. A guy taking time out of his 4th of July celebrations with friends and family just to help a fellow SSer out was to say the least a very kind thing for him to do. He tuned the truck for the new Radix I had just put on the weekend earlier. He spent about 2 hours street tuning the truck and trying to help me with noticing the sound of KR and tunning the truck the way MagnaCharger should have out of the box. The truck runs like a beast and I will be sure to keep giving Justin my business based on his great tune, and most of all his kindness for taking time away from friends and family on July 4th. Justin, also spent a good amount of time talking about the engine and new additions that would help me get the the mid-12's. I came into expecting just a local shop for tunning, and I turn out getting a great tune, which is worth more than any mailorder tune Ive ever had. Thanks Justin!
  9. Im pretty sure that whether OEM or aftermarket, it doesn't matter as long as the catalyst within the cat works properly and keeps emissions of the hydrocarbons and other harmful byproducts to the level California requires.
  10. n a related development, an anonymous user with the same IP address as the person who edited Benoit's Wikipedia entry to report his wife's death -- hours before authorities discovered the bodies of the couple and their 7-year-old son -- confessed early Friday on an online discussion page attached to the Web site, saying the changes were based on rumors and speculation, not hard evidence. The authenticity of the posting could not immediately be confirmed, though Wikinews, an online news source connected to Wikipedia, said that the Internet protocol address of the individual is identical to that of the user who edited Benoit's profile early Monday morning. An IP address is a unique series of numbers carried by every machine connected to the Internet. "I just can't believe what I wrote was actually the case, I've remained stunned and saddened over it," the user wrote. Investigators are looking into who altered the entry early Monday to say that the wrestler had missed a match two days earlier because of his wife's death. A Wikipedia official, Cary Bass, said Thursday that the entry was made by someone using an Internet protocol address registered in Stamford, Conn., where the WWE is based. An IP address does not necessarily have to be broadcast from where it is registered. It is not known where the posting was sent from, Bass said. Benoit's page on Wikipedia, a reference site that allows users to add and edit information, was updated at 12:01 a.m. Monday, about 14 hours before authorities say the bodies were found. The posting, according to ABCNews.com, contained the following information: "Chris Benoit was replaced by Johnny Nitro for the ECW Championship match at Vengeance, as Benoit was not there due to personal issues, stemming from the death of his wife Nancy." McDevitt said that to his knowledge, no one at the WWE knew Nancy Benoit was dead before her body was found Monday afternoon. Text messages released by officials show that messages from Chris Benoit's cell phone were being sent to co-workers a few hours after the Wikipedia posting. WWE employees are given WWE e-mail addresses, McDevitt said, though he did not know whether Chris Benoit had one. On Thursday afternoon, the Wikipedia page about Benoit carried a note stating that editing by unregistered or newly registered users was disabled until July 8 because of vandalism. Information from The Associated Press, ABCNews.com and ESPN.com's Liz Merrill was used in this report. This is like a Law and Order or CSI case
  11. Due to relocating the catalytic converters, it is not, or likely ever will, be smog-legal in California. Cant pass smog cant drive without some extra $$$ for you registration
  12. Theyre putting the 3.0 on it. I was thinking of going to the 2.9 but Zippy did a write up saying that the 2.9 is too much for the injectors and theyd need to be changed. When I get the Cam and TC installed I will drop the pulley size to a 2.9 and have it retuned with a new set of injectors...Hopefully with just those mods I will be touching the high 12 sec range.
  13. I get the truck this Saturday Beyond stoked about what this truck will do... Ive been infected by the mod bug, and it looks like its here to stay
  14. I almost traded in my truck a few weekends ago for a Z06 (2003)...but I got a great deal on a supercharger, and with a few more mods, I would be sitting with the vette performance wise...I would be no where near a Vette handling wise, but how many guys do you know with Vettes racing on road courses... Plus like BroBradh77 said, you dont see many of these trucks around...
  15. Yes this is what I meant...must have been the steroids Im on
  16. Miss Kimberly was living with Lex Luger and died over a drug overdose at Lex Lugers home... Ultimate Warrior, probably one of my favorite wrestlers in my younger years. He has changed his name legally to Warrior, and now lives in Arizona and is a huge conservative and is beyond the term "far to the right." He has a website, google him
  17. Crazy part was he stayed in the house for atleast a day with the bodies decomposing...Most of those guys in wrestling seem like loose cannons waiting to blow up...
  18. Current mods: 1) Radix with 3.0 puller 2) Street Tune by Brian (Moregrip) 3) Volant CAI 4) Custom Magnaflow Ehaust 5) Built Transmission (billet servos, new bands, accum piston, etc...) through Toy Shop in Pomona,CA 6) Stock TC 7) Boost and A/F Guages Goals for the truck 1) Mid to High 12's consistently Future plans 1) New plugs 2) 160 stat 3) TC - No idea what the stall should be depending on the cam you suggest 4) Smaller Puller probably the 2.8 or 2.9 5) True Dual Exhaust with cutouts and high flow cats 6) 60 # Injectors 7) Possible J-Tube/TB conversion Uses of/for the truck - Must stay smog legal, stupid California!!! - Daily Driver (75% highway miles) Zippy, in regards to the Future Mods list, where should I fit the cam in that list? Im just afraid of running out of injectors with the cam install. I am figuring on doing Mods 1-3 done all at once later this year with the cam install at the same time. Then doing 4-7 sometime in 2008. Ive been thinking about the GT2-3 LPE cam, but I want to go different then the common radix/cam setup. Have you seen better gains with maybe a slightly more agressive grind? Would it be fathomable to be in the high 12's with a just a cam and TC, and another tune with the current mods the truck supports? Thanks!!!
  19. Cheers to you bro...Thanks for the freebie!!!
  20. Throttle Body + J-tube extension upgrade for the Radix. I forget which part off the top of my head they use, I believe its a vette TB or something?
  21. Better website with all the specs for GM trannys http://media.gm.com/division/2005_prodinfo..._specs.html#m30 4L80E weights approximately 60 lbs more
  22. Its seems like its only affecting the Inland Empire specifically Ontario...I would bet these guys are staging races in some remote area and are getting busted...Makes me think twice even though I dont live anywhere near the Inland Empire
  23. Ahhh moving the TC up there huh? I already have a custom magnaflow exhuast that flows pretty well which is why i left the true duals as last, not needed that much as is more for appearance over the current exhaust Not much of a track guy, actually never been in my life, always had a lifted truck More of a street race guy...i can see the advantage of the TC especially at the strip I was debating on doing that with a new cam(S&R),pulley, and injectors all at once and doing the Jtube conversion since its the easiest of the installs compared to cam swap or TC install. Or doing the TC install first, check the tranny again at the toy shop to look at wear and tear from the radix with little/no mods, then going with the cam(S&R),pulley, injectors, J-tube/TB... Brian (MoreGrip) suggested the TB/J-tube conversion first with around 30+ in gains and then the cam instal was around 80+ in gains total... Guess i gotta read some more...and more...and more
