  1. Reckless driving is 6 points and the only difference between reckless and careless according to the law is reckless is the intentional disregard for the safety of others. One is intentional and one is unintentional. I used to be told that for careless you had to break 3 traffic violations to be accused of it, not tru...old wives tale.
  2. Depends on what he put in notes. I got the same ticket. Careless driving does not have to be a certain amount over the speed limit at all. Careless driving in michigan (where I got my ticket, downtown detroit) is the careless unintentional disregard for the safety of others. Excessive acceleration in a 30mph zone would certainly constitute that. If you have a good record, I would take it to court and ask the judge to lower it to 5-10 over. Careless driving is 3 points and insurance companies in michigan LOVE careless driving ticket holders because you become so profitable! It took my insurance from $110/mo to $190/mo!!!!!
  3. The modding has begun. I installed my my used Outlaw CAI I bought on ebay for $175!!!!! The guy said it was only two weeks old and he was right, looked brand new. The filter wasn't even dirty one bit. Only took 20 minutes start to finish. Easiest CAI I have ever installed on ANY vehicle including F-bodies etc... Anways, I like the new throaty sound. I don't feel much difference, but I really didn't get much of chance to really get on it. It at least has much better throttle response. My Corsa sport exhaust should be here in about two days $661 new for that as well. Plus I am getting the Edelbrock headers ($384 with ceramic coating) and then comes the Radix next week!!! God I can't wait. Going to have Revolution race works and zippy do the wrenching and tune since I dont have the time or tools after moving. I will be pleased with low 13's, but dam, if I can get high 12's.....sweet!!!
  4. Have you scanned to see if you have any misfires along with this KR? I am new to the LQ9, but I ran an L67 with a manudon M90 on it for years. If you have that much KR that isn't false from the tranny issues mentioned and misfires present on certain cylinders, check your plugs, then hope and pray it isn't what happened to me on the L67...cracked piston. At first I noticed it only when kicking it down on the freeway, then starting getting KR at WOT off the line, thought it was false too. I was getting 8+ deg of KR. Then not much longer, BOOM...popped the #3 piston. Happens alot on the L67 with boost (I was running about 12psi). Not trying to scare you and could be totally off, but check for misfires nonetheless.

  6. I am purchasing the radix kit used, should be mostly complete excpet for maybe a wire or bolt or two. Can anyone recommend an installer in the greater cleveland area or northern Ohio. Preferably someone who obviously knows what they are doing and can tune it as well.

  8. I've seen used units sell for more than that. It's not too bad if it's in good condition. Is it a polished unit? It should be a direct bolt on to the 6.0L, you're just going to need different programming and a different pulley. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Zippy, How much to install and tune?

  11. what kind of mods should I have to support this converter? cam or supercharger? Work on a mostly stock vehicle?
  12. I have friend who is selling a radix kit from his avalanche 5.3L he just sold. He has everything and wants $3,800 for the kit. I know its a good deal, but my question is will the kit from the 5.3 fit my 6.0 without much other modification? He said he ahs the tuner and I would have to send in the tuner to magnuson to have it programmed to my vehicle VIN to work. I've been asking alot of questions on here and this just might solve my problem for speed!
  13. I really like the GT2-3 cam. High lift, but good lobe sep. for the stock appearing idle. Good power maker to. Possibly the XER cam with 581 lift. I know I might be splitting hairs here the GT2-3 cam is only 271 lift.
  14. Truthfully, I wasn't to impressed with STS. they were nice and followed up well with my questions, but price and some things the rep said made me raise an eyebrow. Let me elaborate on this. When I asked how much power and what kind of times I would see, I was told some pretty wierd numbers like 12.9@ 118mph and stuff like that. Thats what made me raise my ebrows. Also, They wanted to play games with pricing on me. They have financing and that is full retail price, but they wouldn't give me the special "cash" price until I would commit. I think their customer service would be good, but I do question the power output. If I can tow with the livonia turbo, I am going to go that route if I can get it done for under $6k. I would love to do a radix, but I know I would be $8k by the time it was buttoned up with headers, tune, install, exhaust, etc. Thanks for the advice guys.
  15. Whats wrong with STS? Why don't we talk about them around her emuch anymore? Someone's engine go boom? They seemed a little high on the pricing. I was quoted $6500 for the kit, IC, nelson tune, and fuel system upgrades. Nice attractive base price, but like a damn car, option it up a little and you are through the roof. I thought that was really high. And that didnt even include installation. Looks like I can get the livonia kit and have it installed and tuned for probably under $6k even.

  19. I might consider these guys as well. Does anyone know what kind of power I can expect? Their turbo escalade was pretty impressive going from a 16.8 to 14.2 with the base kit and tuning. Over and above their kit, what else will I need besides a good tune? Could Zippy tune this? How much should I expect for installation? How about reliability? Someone told me I cant tow with it, but I would figure with the intercooler and only running 5-6lbs of boost I should be ok. I'm not looking for low 12's here just low 13's for a daily driver. How about driving these forced induction SSS's in the snow and winter? Sorry for all the questions, I am just weighing my options here. I am still leaning towards heads, cam, headers, tune, etc and hope for high 13's. Also, I did search and read what I could on the radix, STS, and procharger. Lets be honest there isn't much info out there on anything but the radix.
  20. After looking at the specs myself on the cam, I would have to agree it is not the most streetable cam. I will also be towing a boat frequently so I have to have low end power. I think the GT2-3 cam or at most the comp XER cam mentioned above will be just fine and if I can hit 350rwhp I will be happy. I plan on a supercharger in the next year or two anyways. If this was just a show truck, then yeah I would go all out and not car how the truck idled or if it was really streetable or not. Has anyone ever heard of TEA heads? I found a pair for sale with 205 intake ports for dirt cheap assembled with flow numbers of about 295cfm at .550 lift. And the chamber size of about 66, a little bigger than the Dart heads which i feel would raise compression to much to run pump gas.
  21. You mention ARP rod bolts, are those the weak link in our engines? STS Turbo told me it was the crank and bearings. I dunno who to believe, but of course I also believe in ARP's products and preventative maintenance never hurts.
  22. That's not what your an your 12.5 with though right? You have a supercharger as well correct? What cam did you go with?
